$1/2 here at Orange City isn't much different from $1/2 anywhere else in Florida. At least half the players are playing for fun, and don't bother studying at all. Learn the basics of preflop starting ranges, never limp unless you are on the button, play less hands and raise bigger when you do have a good hand. The vast majority of $1/2 players everywhere call to frequently, commit too much money (calling or raising) with top pairs, and generally are much more likely to check/call than to bet/raise.
