This band is so underrated. Everyone should know and discover how good this band is. I would love to see them live and this KEXP recording shows just how good they play live!
My great respect and endless love to this band. I traveled 4000 km just to hear them singing on the festival and I was the happiest person in the world. Jesse, you are incredible, you are just perfect, thank you for your voice!
I've been listening to these lovely folks since walking past a Thai place they were playing over 10 years ago and taking steps backwards to be like "Who is that?" and they've brought me so much joy. They are easily one of the most underrated bands in music. I asked Jonathon how many instruments he played at a show and he answered fewer than he played during that show (I wish I remembered the number, it was a while ago). We listed them and he was like "Oh yeah, I play more!". He plays so many instruments he forgets how many! They're so very talented!
I love Other Lives! Saw them live in Columbus, and they hung out with us afterwards, taking pictures with us, signing our tickets. Such talented musicians, and all around nice guys!
Saw Other Lives in Columbus a few years ago, and MAN what a show! They are seriously talented--their music just fills you up. We got to meet them after the show, and they are also very humble and nice. Can't wait to see them again.
Just got my pad working and have subscribed. Somebody has to keep an eye on how you are. Actually lots and lots of people are doing that, but not with the level of pride and joy concerning you and the Liz. You both make me happy🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕶🕶
Great band, thanks and congrats to everyone involved in this KEXP, a want to say that the sound is really really good, clap clap to your sound guy or guys. Not only in this one, all of them.
Eric Wiesner Yeah, I second that. I'm a fan of his work, as well, and of this band. I saw them, as Kunek, when they opened for spoon at the Cain's Ballroom, in Tulsa, and they played an amazing set. I became a fan that night. BTW, they are playing at Cain's, this Saturday!!
james mcbride I saw them here in Portland a few months ago where they live now. Super nice dudes. Amazing show. One of the better shows I've seen in a while. Very captivating.
KEXP can sometimes be a little slow in Showcasing a Band that's at least Musical . They have done that here with "Other Lives" . Nice sound and very good songs make for 26 min that are more than worth your time.
+Lucky Luke You Still have to harmonize and texture those effects properly which do create a sort of polyphony. Effects driven, probably, but they are still talented musicians.
As a musician for 38 years . Playing in cover Bands for more than 10 years of that 38 . I have played nearly every Genre with the possible exception of Opera and Bach . I also owned a music store for 12 years . Which i primarily dealt to DJ's in Electronica and Dance . I think i also have an open mind when it comes to experimental music.I enjoy Frank Zappa .But whatever the Genre at the very least it should be somewhat musical . And i do give KEXP props for displaying Bands that otherwise would receive no exposure .But a lot of the Bands on KEXP are anything but musical . But you have your taste's and i have mine .
Daniel Nava I talked to Jesse when they played here and he said they just couldn't handle touring. Jenny and Colby both left. I think that the two new fellas are incredible. The band is even tighter if that's even possible.
I’m going to smoke and make soup. I’ll get my money. He’s calming to me. Learn how to watch for real. Nice. He rocks. Such an incredible sound. Calming. Seems like God put people on this planet just to fucking irritate me. I think people have me confused for someone who gives a fuck. For real. Learn how to watch. Interesting dude.
Hey folks this is a channel to listening up music with good kinnda "touch", if you wanna learn skills-sigs for deaf ones (no offenses for those, truly respect), google it, but man, dislikes?!!!
I Smell Fleet Foxes in here.. But still unique! It's amazing how he spoke about the primitive and the rational experiment, along with multi-layers music, This Is valuable artwork. P.S they needed to rest, they seemed tired lol.
Listen to Kunek "Flight of the Flynn", Fleet Foxes is more popular so everyone and their mother thinks of them first when it comes to this genre. But Kunek was Other Lives first band and have been at something more unique since their inception. "Flight of the flynns" is an absolutely incredible album. Fleet Foxes is much more Americana and tries to be more worldly with their first 2 records, while Other lives is much more somber and melancholy. Fleet Foxes work after their hiatus is incredible also... Either way I'm just happy all this music is available for us to enjoy :)
This band is so underrated. Everyone should know and discover how good this band is. I would love to see them live and this KEXP recording shows just how good they play live!
30 seconds off the first song and I decided I loved them. How good!

Ah aha me too
Me too! ♥

seriously underrated.
I adore their music, but I don't underate them nor do you, so who cares.
My great respect and endless love to this band. I traveled 4000 km just to hear them singing on the festival and I was the happiest person in the world. Jesse, you are incredible, you are just perfect, thank you for your voice!
I can always count on KEXP to show my favorite artists and introduce me to bands I have not discovered yet!
this band is amazing

Their first album as Kunek is absolute fire still
I love Other Lives! Saw them live in Columbus, and they hung out with us afterwards, taking pictures with us, signing our tickets. Such talented musicians, and all around nice guys!
Consciousness manifests through your music, is the announcement of what is coming, thanks.
Best performance I’ve seen on KEXP by far. I am blown away by everything they did, and they did so much.
Le meilleur band au Monde en terme de savoir faire musical.
I saw them on festival Colours of Ostrava on The Czech Republic... Brilliant! Very talented guys!
In love with Other Lives, I saw them in France❤ so brilliant and talentuous. Jesse Tabish is hyper classy😍 one of my favorite band
Love love love this. I wish they turned up the volume on the trumpet during Easy Way Out, because its an awesome addition to the song.
One of my absolute favorite bands. Looking forward to the show in ATL coming up here shortly. Great studio performance. Rituals is indeed "lovely".
Shit, did I miss the show
Album: purchased.
Thank you as always, KEXP.

The host oozes Seattle. It's a look unique to this city.

VERY cool group! I stumbled upon this video not knowing anything about Other Lives. Fantastic songs/group! Thanks KEXP! : )
GYPSY SURF PSYCH......great stuff.....I would like to see a complete show.
james mcbride I saw them here in Portland a few months ago where they live now. Super nice dudes. Amazing show. One of the better shows I've seen in a while. Very captivating.
james mcbride They're amazing live! Even though I was the oldest person there (56), the rest of the crowd was in their 20's, 30's. Love their music!
It's the little fills...the twangy little riffs that are just right...they make it look and sound easy, and it isn't!
I know! Every musician in the band is so versatile. Love their sound.
+james mcbride yes.
This was AWESOME!
Never heard these dudes til now but holy shit,I Love It, I can't wait to see em live!!
Incredible
Thanks KEXP (:
Jesse is obviously a talented singer/musician/writer, but his almost clueless honesty is a sign of sincere genuineness. 👌🏾🧠🔌
Awesome music!

Sounds like someone threw my old record collection from the early 70's into the washing machine ... and this is what came out!
it is perfect !
Great!
Fuck---- my rock band favorite.

Nice!

Thanks, i will .
dbrew2u slow, brother? Are you serious? 2011 mawdra (it's the irish for dawg)

Other dimension of music from other lives I somehow recall.
Me gusta!
Love this. I wonder if they know Chase Healy.
0:14 "KEXP.orgy"
+Master Ambassador (Keiran Andrews) lololololol
Who are you?
Where's Cheryl?
Maybe you wanna have a tour in Indonesia.... :)
What is the effect on the guitar on the second song. I need it. :)
Sounds like it's just Spring reverb applied until you want to hit the waves.
she is all about the singer lol
Gretsch Beast 1980?
So this is what's cool to you? Yiiiiikes
This lead singer/guitarist guy looks like Fred Armisen's character in those "Women and Women First" skits in Portlandia.
+Ryan Robles omg totally!
Where's Jenny Hsu? :( this album, and the new formation don't like me so much. You all need to listen their first two albums.
Daniel Nava I talked to Jesse when they played here and he said they just couldn't handle touring. Jenny and Colby both left. I think that the two new fellas are incredible. The band is even tighter if that's even possible.
Thanks for this, I was wondering about Jenny too. Their sound is different with the new guys on board, but it still works great.
these dudes are the shit

extraño los coros de Jenny Hsu :/
Put the ads in between the songs you lobsters!
Eye Smiley!!
L4MB4STE Love that Violin Intro after Interview!!
Daniel Hart (back vocals / violin)... It sounds like his band "Dark Rooms" ❤︎
Hey folks this is a channel to listening up music with good kinnda "touch", if you wanna learn skills-sigs for deaf ones (no offenses for those, truly respect), google it, but man, dislikes?!!!
Holecrawlers Unite!
Great sound, but Evie WOW!!!!
It was cool he didn't crap on his home state of Oklahoma, which she seemed to be expecting. Every state has its own beauty.
New line-up? I see a few familiar faces, one missing, and a few I don't recognize
that her is so fancy
reconfiguration sounds better here than the one in the album version
Décevants, ils se répètent sans inspiration, mais ils étaient partis tellement fort...
Dude has never considered cutting his hair.
I WOULD HAVE GONE IF I HAD KNOWN AND I WAS 3 YRS OLDER
I Smell Fleet Foxes in here.. But still unique! It's amazing how he spoke about the primitive and the rational experiment, along with multi-layers music, This Is valuable artwork. P.S they needed to rest, they seemed tired lol.
Feeling some Andrew Bird as well.

What kind of Gretsch is that?
Michael Maynard Looks like a Gretsch BST 1500
