The 60’s were an awesome time! I loved the innocent times I grew up in. I was 7 when we entered the 60’s and I rode my bicycle all over our neighborhood and we played till the street lights came on! I was 10 when we got our first color tv only a few shows were actually in color my mom was alive and fun and remember exactly the day and where I was at when President Kennedy was assassinated !!we made my first trip to Disneyland we drove in our station wagon from Oklahoma to California without air conditioning in our car!!!!! to see my big brother who was in the Marines he was still Bubby to me not Sgt!! I had my first date in 1969 at 16 years old!!! It was a great time to grow up ❤❤❤❤

The 70s by far was the best. Best music. As teens in 1975, 1976 we would go out on Friday night dancing and hearing all the live bands. Racing cars and hanging at the speed parts shop. Drive in theaters, all night Diners, and not a care in the world. We all worked, made pretty good money, rents were cheap, gas was cheap and lots of friends. No cell phones, no computers, just a rotary phone and a skylark car. Good times.

I too, grew as teens in 1973-1978 ( graduated in 1977), and listened to live bands, going to concerts, drive in theatres, etc. , rotary phones, first car was a 66 mustang! And your right, not a care in the world!

Truly, I had a LARGE 3 bedroom flat at age 19 that I rented for $150. 00 per month n I allowed roommates to stay with me n got them in college with me. About 3 or 4 years ago that same lot ONLY was selling for $ 50,000.00. The land DID NOT CHANGE, THE LICATION DID NOT CHANGE- GREED CHANGED. Some young people DO NOT EVEN KNOW that there was a time back then that there Was NO'😮 WORD CALLED HOMELESSNESS'!! There was a place called skid row in a few big towns where generally then alcoholics who had them given up lived outside.

@@donnaplumridge9769 68 Mustang! It was SAFE in general then too. Being from the country when I moved to a big city, I still tried to be by dark. Had to catch busses n walk then. Would walk about a mile from where the bus route cutoff. Walked fast to get there by dark

I love the idea of thrifting furniture. We relocated to a small Alaska town that's at the end of a long highway, and there's no furniture stores nearby, but we do have 2 thrift stores. We were able to furnish our apartment with pieces we found at the thrift stores and local FB marketplace. Even our dishes and small appliances are for the most thrift finds. Living in a place that is reliant on the community reusing things makes me feel good.

My mom had a subscription to Southern Living magazine for many years, and always got the annuals. She actually made the cake with the gingerbread men and big red bow on the cover of that 1996 edition at 11:00. When we moved her into assisted living a few years ago, she "autographed" one of the annuals for each of her grandkids and great nieces and nephews in the year corresponding to their birth year. They were so happy to have a special momento from her that will always remind them of what a great cook she was.

I think everyone feels the same way. I enjoy the variety, your fun personality, and your love of family. So just 'keep on keepin' on.' And THAT is a saying from the 70s which is when I graduated high school. I think we all feel a certain nostalgia for the days of our youth, so I guess every era has its good times!

For me, early 1970s... life was carefree. I just have fond memories of living my little life as the "baby" with two older brothers. I had everything I needed, but I didn't always get everything I wanted. I was blessed to go on vacation every year (usually a road trip or camping... once on a train!). Even though dad smoked in the car with the windows rolled up, we rode in cars with no seat belts and bikes with no helmets and played outside all summer until dark...😅 I survived. Life wasn't always perfect by any means, but I always knew I was loved and safe. I was blessed.
Cory, you are such an inspiration always so positive and joyful. I look forward to each and every video you publish. ❤ ~Laura

In 2018 I had my 1978 home remodeled. I didn't leave a beer bottle behind. I did make a time capsule. It included samples of the original burnt orange carpet, and faux "tile look"linoleum flooring, cabinet hardware etc. I wrote a note to the future homeowners who presumably find the time capsule when they remodel, that says something along the lines of you think its dated looking now here's a sample of the changes I made in 2018.

Yay.. been waiting on another video😁 70's- mid 80's was my best years! Life was simple & so much fun! I loved my childhood up thru my teenage years😊 Would I go back? You dang skippy.. in a heartbeat😁 The big chair looked so comfy. When we lived in NC where, we're originally from & raised our kids, my dining table had those same ladder back chairs. Oh yes.. loved the little wood chest of drawers❤ And awesome price! Love the depression glass bowls! Great find! I love the little kids chairs..i have several different ones i used on my front porch for flowers. But I just love old wood chairs of any size, i always pick them up if they are at a good price. The brass wall planter is really pretty.. love a good wall planter😉 Oh Cool.. the sleep over sounds like lots of fun! Oh goodness.. love that tall birdhouse❤ Girlfriend you DON'T want to come to Disney for at least another month or so.. you'd fry on that black top pavement!💀 Its ridiculously HOT! I hate to even go outside. Temps one 100° every day🥵 I want to take my grandkids.. we only live an hour away, 52 miles. But We'll go sometime between November & March. Since its that close it'll just be a day trip. My DIL's cousin works there so we can get good discounts😉 we'll probably get season family passed🤷‍♀️ Well yes mam.. we would love a try on video!😊 love the Free Assembly dress. Southern Living books are awesome, another great find for sure! Lol girl yes, please disinfect everything.. dirty undies😬 The little table is so cute! Typical old mom/grandma..love your washer & dryer! What brand are they? I use to have the front load set on box stands. They lasted me 17+yrs. I loved them, no bending, large capacity, just a great set! When we get into A house we've may have to get a set.. depends if the house has a set or not of course 🤷‍♀️ The built ins are so nice! My son had one of those rugs & my grandson has one now.. just a neat piece for little boys😊 Of course i enjoyed as always, & always excited for the next video! Have A blessed week!😊

Why? Because as kids - we're carefree. No responsibility. No worries.

I am so excited for you when you have your visitors!
I know that you will have a wonderful time!
Don't underestimate the effect that you have had on this world. I know that Kerry and Emma love you just for you being you.
Just yesterday, the RUclips logarithm sent me (a woman) to a channel called "carnivore hunters"
    (It's two brothers that hunt.)
One of them was issuing an invitation to "Bill Nott". He said that when you feel that you are ready he is inviting you on a hunting expedition. You have influenced people that you probably have no idea are even aware of your existence.
Now on another topic. (Social anxiety) At one time in my working career I was a counselor in a women's program (who were incarcerated)
They were transitioning from prison out into the outside world.
If they had no write-ups or escape charges, on their last week we would take them on an expedition to Walmart.
Many of these women had not been outside prison walls (or confinement) for years. TALK ABOUT SOCIAL ANXIETY!
They wanted to go shopping and to be somewhat "free," but the anxiety was crippling. Their hearts would beat rapidly and their hands would shake.
On the drive to Walmart if we should happen to pull up next to a police car at a stoplight without even thinking they would automatically hit the floorboards!
Once we got to Walmart, until we got to the nail polish aisle, they could finally relax. At that point their joy in the excursion would finally out rank their fear of "no boundaries." but many of them could not resist the temptation to reach out and touch the children that were riding in the shopping carts. It had been so long since they had seen everyday ordinary children" in a "normal" setting.
    Now on another topic, Daisy,
My dearly departed cat was a picky eater like Daisy. In the last few months of his life I found some small cans of wet food (I think manufactured by Friskies) called "Creamy Delights" and he really loved them, more than any other food I had found for him in the 12 years I had him. I bought it at walmart. Maybe Daisy would like it. We agonize so much over pleasing them.
I got a kick out of the interaction between you and Daisy when you were trying to unbox your dumbbells. God forbid you should inconvenience him.
    Well enough already!
🎉 looking forward to your next video!!!

@@DesertDIY late 30s very late 😅 only a tiny bit older but you two are goals. I feel you're accomplishing so much. Ps when you mentioned in a previous video about Manuel going to school as well, it's easy to say but extremely hard to do especially with a young family. It's obvious you two are supportive with each others goals. ❤️

My grandmother always claimed that the men who they hired to do some work in their basement were drinking. When my sister became the owner of the house and did some remodeling in the basement she found beer cans in the wall.
