even with small nitpicks of this movie, the turn from D-16 to Megatron was phenomenal. the part where Megatron tears apart sentinel was CHILLING. I love the comparison to the brothers in Prince of Egypt
I’ve been liking most of Transformers content for the past 4 years, and Transformers One is no exception, as I do think the movie’s great. It’s a better Josh Cooley Film then Toy Story 4. Paramount made the right call of hiring talent who loved Transformers to make the film.
@@idlescree ah no you guys weren't the issue. I saw the spoiler warning didn't care but your intro made me decide I should probably heed the warning this time and watch the film first. I usually don't care for spoilers. On second review could see how my og comment could be misleading. I was trying to say your intro made me change decision from ignoring the spoiler warning to listening. 😅
I amazed by how respectful this movie is to the already existing TF lore, and how they build from it. Every single story arc/lore elment is TF One was taken from several already existing Transformers continuity. (just as you said, there was a ton of refrences from both the IDW, and the Aligned coninuity) Like Megatron's D-16 low class miner origin came from the IDW comics, just like the 'class/caste' system. Orion, D-16/Megatron being sworn brothers/best friends working together to topple a false prime, and his opressive, corrupt government was taken from the Aligned continuity, just like Starscream's TF One's backstory (Megatron taking Starscream's men after beating him to scrap happened in the War for Cybertron games). G1 also influenced this film in pretty significant ways, like cogless bots unable to transform during the Quintesson rule, the Quintessons, Orion being a low class manual labourer (he was a dock worker in the G 1 series), Megatron killing Orion before he was rebuilt as Optimus Prime to house the Matrix, Optimus's energy axe at the end fight etc. Sentinel is reminiscent of TFA's interpretation of the character (blue/gold, big chin, narcissistic asshole) and he had a very similar weapon Sentinel used in the Baymovies. :) Orion being a history nerd, spending his time in the Archives is a clever nod to TFP, just like the music (TF One, and TFP has the same composer, and he put elements/musical themes from TFP into this movie) And these examples are just a few of the ton of inspiration they took. Also yeah, the mvie pulled it's punches as far as violence was concerned only in the first half of the film. Beside the last quarter of the film (where they pretty much cranck up the robo-gore) there was another earlier scene I found very brutal. The scene where D-16 just mutilated Starscream's voice box onscreen.
*WOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!* This is the biggest surprise i ever got as a Transformers Fan im subscribe to a channel who gonna do a analyses on Transformers média and this case Transformers ONE !!!!!!!!!!! Plus this the cute Bat who gonna present this video i love so much the bat honestly she is the cutest bat i ever see in my life i remember when i saw the Cyberpunk Edgerunner analyse when she censored her cursed word with bat * squeeq * i think this is so f*cking kawaii and saw her made a analysis on Transformers ONE / The Real Transformers Movie who assume to do real Transformers stuff and plus this cute bat are a Transformers fan too That’s making me happy at a point And yeah I’m agreed you little cute bat i hate the Bayformers and after i watching that Transformers ONE MASTERPIEACE i hated even more the Bayformers then before because why they don’t do that at the beginning instead of giving during 10 f*cking year a bad reputation and a bad image of the Transformers franchise toward the public who don’t know the Transformers franchise
I'm SO glad you liked it. The Racoon and I LOVE Transformers and I've been wanting to do something on IDW for ages but this movie gave me the excuse to start chattering about it. Being autistic and have adhd and sees megatron as megatron when I saw this movie I saw myself in him who has intense emotions JUST LIKE MEGATRON tho I wouldn’t straight up attack someone but I loved how they handled megs.
I haven't watched this video in full, as I haven't seen the movie, but with your mentioning of the Bayformers at 2:09 I'd love to see a video from you that details what makes you feel that the Bayverse films are largely filled with contempt for the franchise. Because I largely agree. However, as I lifelong fan of the franchise, there's gonna be a part of that has the rosetinted glasses for those movies, what with having watched them so much growing up.
I stopped watching the Bayverse movies after Revenge of the Fallen, and was elated when TF: Prime aired. When I first saw the trailer for TF: One, I was very hesitant to give it a chance. But with all the clips on RUclips and reviews I've stumbled upon, I'm willing to view it. As for the cast, I do wish that they had more professional VAs on the roster. That being said, the clips I've seen of both Hemsworth and Henry as Prime and Megs were decent. Brian Tyree Henry in particular, his acting was top notch!
Which Kingkiller are you referring? I know the Patrick Rothfuss books but it’s not an uncommon phrase! “More money than God”’ is a something that my dad used to say, hahaha.
Me and my mum whent to see it, im a pretty stable fan regularly watching them but my mum had no idea just some snippets of my viewings and the og cartoon and she was able to watch it and u destiny what was going on and loved it
While most of the movie was great, the ending really flopped for me. Megatron was painted as the bad guy for wanting to execute the big betrayer that sold its own kind to the Quintessons. Optimus got Primed because he sacrificed himself... to save that kinslaying liar. And then he moralised how they can't kill him DESPITE killing so many mooks on their way to this fight. And then the threat of Quintessons that basically ruled the surface of Cybertron just peaced out behind the scenes. Really feels like the ending should've been about Optimus and Megatron fighting the Quintessons together after Sentinel bites it and leave the betrayal to Transformers Two or something...

Theyre clearly making some awesome and strong allusions to existing media and I'm LIVING FOR IT

Spoilers were also in the title! We're trying very hard to telegraph both visually and in the audio when spoilers will be an issue.

Exactly
Bay Films are Transformers movie for people who hate Transformers
