I've always worn my hair short and spiky, but then the Pandemic hit and both myself and my stylist went into lockdown. It's now 3 years later and it's back to the length it was in high school. I'm 68, and have never looked good in long hair so having to deal with an 18 inch ponytail has driven me about crazy. Last fall I was searching YT for short hair cuts, and came across your pixie cut and the cowlick video. Let me tell ya, I became an instant fan! I have a big swirl at the bottom of the crown and it takes work to try and hide it. I absolutely love your haircut and your color is gorgeous on you. I'm a redhead with a blending of gray and my stylist (who also watches your vids) told me today that the color is beautiful.
I had her give me a Pixie cut, very close to yours, but with me, the first week of a new cut is all about training it to do what I want it to do. I need to put a flat iron on my Amazon wishlist- I'm still old school using curling irons. I'm so happy I watched this tut., I now know I can do so much more styling my new doo. ☮️

I too love your videos. I’m 60+ years and experienced a heart attack last February. My cardiologist says that the combination of meds that they gave me and my hormone changes is probably what has changed the texture of my hair completely. I’ve been trying to learn how to make my hair look more appealing with the changes I’ve experienced. Your videos have been helping me to experiment and see what works for me. I just can’t seem to figure out how to spike my hair like yours though. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your very informative videos.
Oh goodness, I'm so sorry about your heart attack! It's amazing all of the many things that can affect our hair texture and growth. To have success with adding more spikiness, using a root boosting product really helps and then also making sure the hair is short enough and texturized enough in those areas😘

You are so blessed! You have great hair, great style and styling techniques, great hairstylist and great color. My biggest frustration is finding a stylist that can give me your look. I have worn this style for a decade and before I found you, but here lately no one can do a color to save my life. This last chick took SIX HOURS for my pixie cut and a few blonde foils...I literally ran out of the salon and went home and washed it to restyle it, which I have never done in my 60 yrs of living.. I am sooooo beyond frustrated 😞
Next time, when you see someone on the street that has an amazing hair cut go up to them and ASK, "Who's your hairdresser?" See a pic in a magazine? Tear it out & take it to the hairdresser. When you go to a new salon ask the receptionist who's the best cutter that you have? Go to a salon, sit in the waiting room, watch each cutter & what their client's hair looks like when they walk out. If the style is amazing, there's your new hairdresser.

Thanks for sharing these tips. I have a short pixie cut now and get bored doing it the same way everyday and like playing around with twists & clips too. I’ve never tried styling it in the opposite direction though; that’s gotta feel so weird.
You are so welcome!💕 YES, styling the hair on the opposite side feels SO weird at first....I use to get a crick in my neck because I felt like I needed to tilt my head to keep my hair going in that direction😂 But after a few times, you adjust....crazy how different the hair lays on the opposite side!

Im so glad i came across your channel....going through 'the change' i chopped off my hair as i was so hot, it was often soaked with sweat when i had a hot flash, and i couldn't stand it!! Got through that and grew it back to a bob, but im swimming daily for health reasons, and between chlorine and the mistake i made with shampoo (i used it daily, but apparently it only needed monthly to strip out the chlorine!! So it ended up stripping the life out of my hair!!) Just before a wedding and then a trip to Japan, i had to have as much as i could, cut off, as it was a dry, frizzy mess!!!😢😢😢 now a little has grown and i could just about get a short style like yours done, i love how much quicker it is to dry and style my hair, but at the miment, i look in the mirror and just see my mother!! It makes me feel so old and frumpy!! But your style looks youthful....so im showing this to my stylist and see what she can do for me! ❤❤❤

All 4 styles looked great on you.#3 was my favorite,but all 4 looked perfect. Always learn something from your tutorials.My hair on top is the same length as yours now and I even get just a hint of a spiky look.Also picked up those Amika products (shampoo and leave in treatment).Thank you for recommending those.

Wore my hair short for 35+ yrs. Due to uncontrollable circumstances haven’t cut it short in a few years & then pandemic hit & it’s the longest it’s been since I was 21. I can’t wait to get my hair cut as soon as I can get shots. After seeing your videos, now I know how to style without rewashing after sleeping on it & waking up w/bed head. LOL!!! Love your videos.

I also have a very similar haircut but it doesn’t fall like yours. Yours is perfect!!! My hairdresser uses a 4 on the undercut but it seems like I have so much hair! My bangs seen super thick.

I just love your tutorials. I myself have an undercut pixie, my hair is very natural Curley and I live in a high humidity area bit I believe that the enjoy dry wax will be a great product for me to try along with maneuvering my pixie similar to yours at nape of the neck. It won’t look like yours because of the curled, but I do have a flat iron if I get experimental lol. Thanks for the tips and product info. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous.

Definitely give it try! I use less product if I am planning on doing second day hair😘
I find a a bit of dry shampoo helps if my hair is greasy and I don’t have time to wash it. It adds body, too!

TFS......ALWAYS love to see all of your tricks of the trade! I’ve been contemplating (since it’s the first fo the year) to just bit the gullet and get the undercut added to my short pixie cut! I’m just going back and forth of I should do it with my current same stylist or try to get it done with a newer hair stylist who point cuts more and give it more texture! Idk! Wish I could twitch my nose like Bewitched or clink me eyes like I Dream of Jeanie so I could be in CA, meet you and your stylist and have her do it. All in all, I’m just apprehensive because if it’s not done right, it can turn our looking like more of a boyish cut and I DEFINITELY do NOT want that! I’m too much of a girly girl with a lot of bling and sass! Thanks for sharing (and listening👂🏻)!

Such a dilemma! If you know of a stylist that would do a great cut and do the extra point cutting needed, then I'd say that would be the way to go. However, you do want to be sure the newer stylist really knows how to cut pixies and doesn't just cut it like a guy's cut! I think you're right....the best option would be for you to just come on out to California and have Kristen cut it for you!😂🥰
I have a broken wrist and two torn rotator cuffs so it's difficult for me to style my hair I let it grow to the shoulders just so I can put it back in a clippy and just have to do my bangs or volume on top so I just got it to the point where I was going to have it and I fell in love with your videos especially your hair but everything makeup your personality everything I watch all the time I don't even turn the TV on anymore and thanks for the salon visit cuz I kept wanting to know if you had a dark color on if that was your own color so thanks again so much and keep working at it I love it!

After your cut, with the right hair prep and a blow dryer your hair can be straightened out quite a bit. Depending how fine your hair is you may not want it straightened that much.
I'd also like to know the lipstick colour, just stunning as is all your makeup. I am a hair novice I'm afraid but these tutorials have given me hope and inspiration. I can't believe you made 4 different styles out of one haircut, brilliant! Looking forward to more inspired ideas love from down under.

Love your cut! I’m constantly trying to get my stylists to cut my hair like this but they never get the “edge” I’m looking for. It always ends up disappointing me and looking too smooth and roundly, not choppy and edgy like this. These styles are making me feel older and matronly. Not the look or feel I’m going for! Is there something specific I should ask for to help get an edgier look, not just “too short” hair? Or a specific kind of stylist? Everyone says they can cut short hair but really they can’t! It’s an art to get it right!! ❤

Newbie here from England. I used to a style much like yours many years ago but grew it out after nasty comments. I’ve had it long a long time and now getting bored and as it’s so thick and unruly it’s a mission every day. I came across this video and I’m loving the hair and the colour, very tempted to show my hairdresser your video lol.

The cut is the most important part of any of this. Go to the mall and watch people. Stop them and get the name of their stylist. Even if it expensive, its worth it.You can hide any errors in a short cut.

Thanks for the inspiration! I'll bet, if you had wet hair out of the shower, just brushed it into place and let it air dry, then used only your wax and spray, you could achieve any of these looks or close to it. I'm hoping to be able to do this for this Summer when we're at our cottage. Keeping it simple and unplugged.

A few years ago, I attempted to highlight my hair with a cap....the first attempt wasn't too bad but the next round was pretty awful😂

After i hd my hair cut with this pixie, I have never felt so free and pretty. I now classify my self as a young senior :-). Thank you so much for your video and keep doing them.

I am in Australia and the Enjoy wax is ridiculously expensive. Can you please give alternative brands. Also pleeeese would you do a video on the differences between clay paste, texture paste, pomade etc for someone with your length hair or shorter.
