Here it is seven years after you posted this and our 2005 rear window seal finally died. Toyota now wants $88 for the seal. Thanks for showing me how easy it is to replace.
Very easy replacement. Had been leaking into the trunk and took me long enough to order it. 5 minute install. Some will be harder to pull off, but don’t be afraid to give it a yank.
Thank you for the video and part number. I had water in mine and just discovered there are 2 drain plugs at the bottom. As of July 2022, the OEM sells for $65 on ebay and $49 on Amazon. Since this easy replacement, I decided try the Amazon aftermarket for $34. We'll see how it holds up.
wow, the power of RUclips. Our 08 4runner weather strip fell off today. One quick search and you quickly answered all my questions. Thank you Sir! I found the part online for $24, however shipping was another $25 for UPS ground...
Thank you for this video and for supplying the part #. Replacing the seal was easy, but I had also removed the rear panel to make sure there was no debris inside the panel and metal part of the rear lift gate. Putting that back on was not so easy, but patience and another set of hands and we got it done.
Wow! Inflation in 2023! Called the dealer for mine ans they wanted $120! Found a Toyota wholesale website thats selling them for 80 bucks with shipping.
I was removing the whole back door of my 06’ to install a rear camera and the whole inside strip fell apart. Glad to know it’s a simple fix. Good information, thanks!
Was $53 bucks at most Toyota parts joints; sometimes listed cheaper online if shipping was not included. Then there was Amazon! Got the same one you have there for my '04 for $40.00. Done, easy and thanks!
Water got in my back door through that worn out gasket I guess.now my rear defroster doesn’t work rear wiper doesn’t work.any ideas on how to get them going.
You have to look all around for the gap. Likely fairly obvious to a sharp eye inspection . the seal must contact the glass ( no gap, maybe check with a slip of paper) parhaps water trapped from before?

Check the fuses. Probably just blew the fuse. If that doesn’t work then replace wiper motor. Test it first before removing
If the rear window is not completely up nothing will work in the rear hatch@@williambarrows9675

thanks man, very helpful.

Anyone know why water would continue to come into the back door after this seal is replaced?
