4th Gen 4Runner Rear Hatch Stuck / Won't Open (ECU-B Module Reset)

Worked for me! Had a bag of mortar preventing the full closing and even after removing the bag it would not open or close. FYI my fuse box had a white fuse puller in the box. Made it super easy to remove.

Disconnected rear tailgate module during backup camera installation, your tip worked perfectly reseting tailgate lock.

I reset the ecu module via the fuse link in the video - worked great the first time, then it turned the car off and did not work the next day

Yes, that fixes it, but WHY does it keep malfunctioning? What is the root problem? I don't want to have to do this every time I need to open my trunk. How do I fix the problem for good?

I have the same question. This works but it eventually stops and has to be reset again.

Sounds like it could be an actuator issue. Maybe look into that next

@@trailrunnercustoms I have SAME problem. Works once or twice with reset and then locks again. I dont know if I should try to replace Tailgate Actuator (69110-35090) OR Liftgate Multiplex Control Module (89222-35010).

What happende of the actuator is bad and it wont open ever after u plugging the fuse. How else do i go about opening it?

Yeah but anyways the rush to get her out the hospital and not give her time in the ltac it may be to where she needs more than Oakdale because Oakdale said something like if she needs oxygen from the wall and as far as I know she can breathe on her own but she may need some supplemental oxygen which would work from one of the machines but with her being paralyzed also I pleaded to the lady but I can see it being something like yeah we don't want to deal with all of this
