Thanks. Thumbs-up as this was helpful. FYI: This is exactly the same for all 4th Gen (2003-2009) Toyota 4Runners and The rear door weatherstrip just pulls up and out and snaps back in by hand, no screw, pretty easy once the window is down. Also, not sure why but Toyota calls these "Belt Molding". Below are the part #s for all 5 doors in case anyone wants to google for the best online price they can find to compare with whatever their dealer wants to charge. 68161-35060 2003-2009 4Runner Belt Molding Window Weatherstrip (Front Passenger Side; Exterior) 68162-35060 2003-2009 4Runner Belt Molding Window Weatherstrip (Front Driver Side; Exterior) 68163-35030 2003-2009 4Runner Belt Molding Window Weatherstrip (Rear Passenger Side; Exterior) 68164-35030 2003-2009 4Runner Belt Molding Window Weatherstrip (Rear Driver Side; Exterior) 68290-35031 2003-2009 4Runner Belt Molding Window Weatherstrip (Back Door Liftgate; Exterior)
Tj kong Yes this is a great video had to pull up on the end with a screw on the front window to get it to slide out The back window on my '03 SR5 has a screw in it also just an FYI
@@barbarawilliams2477 Perhaps I worded it confusingly. Both the front and rear doors do have screws, the front has the screw towards the rear of the 4runner and the rear doors have the screw towards the front and they all remove and install just the same as described in this video. What I meant above by 'rear door' is the back hatch lift door, IDK what to call it. That one doesn't have any screws in any 2003-2009 4Runner AFAIK. Roll the back glass down and it just pulls up and out and then back in.
@@TJK0ng probably my bad I was in the middle of repairing the windows when I sent that message. I had replaced back tailgate window last year because Toyota wanted to charge me an outrageous amount. the re ar tailgate window was even easier than passenger doors. 👍
Thanks for your help little man! Welcome to the self help Toyota community. I have a video too to help people out. We all need each others expertise so thank you for helping out!
Hey it looks like it's not all the way in. I had to forcefully press down along it to get to make a loud pop where it snaps in place below. You shouldn't have any flex in the middle once it's in place. I noticed because there was still a small gap between the seal and the window.
Yeah, I can’t get mine to pop in, no matter what I try. I’ve spent close to an hour messing with this thing and it still has that annoying 2mm bow in the middle. Both ends are in good, but the majority of it has a 2mm gap.
THIS is the most helpful video I have seen for 2004 window trim replacement.
Im glad we couldn't find anything either so we decided to make one ourselves

Great video. I saw some others and there were struggling using plastic trim removers. THANKS!!
what is that carbon fiber piece you have on the inside of the door called? i need to replace mine but idk what that part is called thanks 1:28
Thanks for the video. Where did you get the trim?
Toyota parts stores. For example, Conicelli Toyota Parts Center. You can order it online. It's called window door belt molding, or just belt molding.
Role reversal on holding the visual aid steady... 😂

Good work my man thx 4 the install tips 👍🏼
Where did you buy the new trim pieces
