Knowing what we know, I think when Joel is on the porch and Ellie is looking at him from a distance. But you can't deny that look on Abby's face when we first see her. I'm so excited!
As a huge TLOU fan who absolutely loves both games Part 1 and Part 2 both masterpieces it's my favorite game series of all time. Season 1 of the show was a great adaptation of the 1st game. And I'm really looking forward to seeing them adapt the 2nd game, hopefully they also do it justice. Which I read is gonna be done in like 2 maybe 3 seasons since the 2nd game is so much bigger. Abby became one of my favorite characters, and Kaitlyn Dever is a great actress I'm looking forward to seeing her portrayal. Also there is still many characters and things we haven't even seen yet like Owen, Mel, Manny, Nora, and of course Lev and Yara, also the Rattler group from Santa Barbara towards the end of the game. I'm very excited cannot wait!!! thanks for the reaction video cheers.
As the lady asks here, I believe they are going to flesh out Isaac a bit more too, so if this is going to be over multiple seasons, it would make sense, so that this could become something as brutal, exhaustive and special, as the game.
Didn't know y'all had a patreon. Joined up today.. was feeling like rewatching season 1, I guess I'll rewatch it along with ya. 🙌 Favorite part(s) of the trailer, was definitely the scene with Abby crawling under the fence.. and Ellie and Dina in the music store. Pretty iconic scenes from the game. Can't wait to see it all play out in season 2!
I really liked your TLOU2 playthrough, so I’m excited to see your reaction to season 2. The flames could be in the beginning when the Salt Lake crew is burning some infected at the Baldwin lodge. But you guys are right, the sound in the end of the trailer is the exact sound when the golfing has happened. Trauma is coming lol
The red lighting scenes take place under/nearby the news station - so much earlier than the hospital. I feel like we might get Ellie's seatle day 1, followed by Abby's Seatle day 1 (hence why we're seeing Isaac).
I was surprised to see the scene where Ellie forgives Joel, it's supposed to be the very final thing in the game. I am guessing they will reuse tht scene twice
The song Future Days was released in 2013. In the game, the outbreak takes place in 2013, so the song exists in that universe. However, in the show the outbreak occurs in 2003, so in this timeline the song does not exist. That's probably why it's not Joel singing in the trailer. To tell the truth, I don't even know if Joel will sing a song for Ellie on the show, they'll have to come up with another song that matches the story, which I don't know if it would please the fans. The music in the trailer I think was more fan service for the players.
honestly, if they are to have him sing which i hope they do and it's still a pearl jam song, i can see them doing "alive" if not that, then "black days", or "black". but i guess we will see in 2025!! :)
Can't wait for the new season. I believe we got the first teaser/trailer around this time of year for season 1. So im hopeful it'll come out in January like season 1 did. Whenever it airs though, I'll be looking forward to your reactions.
I think Ellie was screaming due to PTSD, that's the only explanation I can guess for now. God, I hope they won't change much. I love Kaitlyn Dever already.
It's the metro when Ellie & Dina flee from the WLF who use red flares and eventually stumble into the horde before reaching the theater. The high pitched noise is when the Joel in one happens and Ellie is unable to hear the conversations around her. With only 7 episodes I'd wager it happens within the first episodes for sure. Otherwise you have no time left to go to Seattle. I suspect / hope the porch scene is just gonna be teased since they shot it already anyway. A chronological order would kinda kill the emotional weight behind the flashbacks. Lev & Yara would be season 3 for sure.
In season 1 Joel was made look more vulnerable than in the game. and notice that he is also sheading tears at the end of this teaser, not to forget the therapist at the very start, that has been added and is not in the game at all, so you can expect season 2 to be going in kind of the same direction in some places and differ from the game that is very much about hate and vengeance.
season 2 isn't going to be all of game 2. they already said they are splitting into 2 and perhaps 3 even though apparently HBO has officially greenlit season 3. maybe they are going to show more backstory of the WLF and Isaac before you get there that is only eluded to in the letters you find but it seems that could be a whole episode itself. it all depends on how they structure season 2 and where they end it.
@@architdewan6717 I don’t doubt it will be renewed. Just kind of wish it was official because it would mean they would possibly be in pre-production already and that could release a year after instead of 2 years. Kind of like season 2 and 3 of One Piece on Netflix. They are shooting those back to back.
@@acme3drevit highly doubt it’s already in pre production, especially since Neil druckman is not only working on this but also working on his next game as a director/writer. Maybe in 2025 we see it renewed officially
in the game there is nowhere during the first half where ellie screams crying with that amount of pain that isn't during the pain of losing joel. up until the end... with dina at the farm. when she has that ptsd episode and loses it. i'm betting that's the scream we see on this trailer.
Casey Bloys (Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content) quote: "Well, all I’ll say now, generally first half of the year, I expectThe Last of Us to be in the Emmy window for 2025." In order to qualify for the Emmy window, at least 6 episodes must air before May 31, 2025. So approximately mid April 2025.
The writers have said game2 will be at least season 2 and 3. Consensus online is that they’ll follow the game precisely and end on the switch to Abby’s pov at the end of S2. I doubt this because there is so much room for additional content (like what they did with Bill and the KC rebellion in S1). We could get far more Isaac, Seraphites, background of Joel/Ellie in Jackson in the four year gap, the cut Joel GF story from the game etc. My only hard proof at this point, is that there are clips in the trailers clearly not in the Ellie half of the game. Most notably the shot of Isaac staring at the beaten Seraphite. Zaslav (a pos imho) running HBO can be fickle, so it’s tentative they’ll make it to season 3. I think they will. Beyond that though, who knows. Ps: I love how the clips that have direct counterparts in the game are still a mirror of the game. Meaning if the shot is from the left in the game, the show shot is from the right. They did this in S1, the ending scene being an easy example. Just a nice touch.
What you think is coming may not actually happen in season 2, or perhaps at the end of season 2. It has already been alluded to, that we are not only talking about at least a season 2 + a season 3 based on the 2nd game, but also that the structure and chronology is going to make season 2 different from the game, while the story itself will be much the same.
I'm hoping they do a season 2 and 3 and they play out the story line similarly. And when Abby shows up at the theater and perspective switch season ends and then season 3 is abbys perspective. The only reason I feel we'd get a season 3 is because I feel like abbys playtime has alot with the scars/seraphites, lev and yara , and then then California
@@Dark__Thoughts .. We did not see them in Seattle did we ?, the guitar scene with Dina and Ellie you are referring to, could chronologically either be from the very last episode of the season, or perhaps they actually changed the story a bit, so it's no longer part of their trip to Seattle.

I thought it was another bold decision not to make the Salt Lake Crew, all that likeable. Mel especially I had trouble with, but I understood where she was coming from most of the time. And Abby isn't Ellie, she doesn't have the charm and fun side that Ellie has, so isn't as warm. I felt she was more about her actions, and that its those that determine the person she is. Having said that, in the game there was some serious stuff she did that I found mightily impressive; so come the end of the game I really liked what she brought.
So excited for 2025! What was your favourite part of the trailer?!

Yeah think you’re right about the flames on reflection, Haven seems unlikely as we haven’t seen Yara and Lev, so that’ll probs be a big episode in S3

For those who know the game's story, most fascinating will be how do the showrunners place the events in the episodes to come.
