That's what i like about Niyat. He really has a passion and love for Films👍👍
I have a friend who is also from Eritrea. He said the same thing, they be crazy over there. Love all your work and love learning little details like this.
You should do this type of video on Guillermo Del Toro.
Sounds great!
Wow I am so stoked for this Niyat! I had no idea that you were starting a podcast! That made my morning.
"This is getting out of hand, now there are two of them!" - Nute Gunray
Awesome Niyat and Preston. I can honestly say, this is the only podcast I've listened through to the end.
Stargate is the best. It's actually an interesting concept with some intricacies, and we got the series with Richard Dean Anderson out of it. The rest are basic disaster movies, dumb, but somewhat fun nonetheless.
Yeah stargate atleast the first three series were pretty great
I was today years old when I learned Emmerich was involved with Stargate.
I did not know that was his movie 🤔
I've just started watching SG-1 this week and my god I wish I had started earlier. It's so god damn good!
One thing we learned about 2012 is that people just don't know much about Mayan culture or history.
Also, don't forget that ID4: resurgence was made to pander to Chinese audiences. And you can tell.
Loved this vid, keen to see more podcasts for sure :) great banter throughout.
Preston needs to watch some stargate SG1 especially the episode where they get all their experiences enhanced and tielk drinks a whole jug of hot coffee, one of the best characters
01. Stargate
02. Anonymous
03. Independence Day
04. The Patriot
05. Godzilla
06. Universal Soldier
07. 10,000 B.C.
08. The Day After Tomorrow
09. White House Down
10. Midway
11. Moon 44
12. 2012
13. Independence Day: Resurgence
14. Joey (Making Contact)
15. The Noah's Ark Principle
16. Moonfall
17. Hollywood Monster (Ghost Chase)
18. Stonewall
You a mad lad for watching all of these movies for a video. My respects to you guys
The other guy hasn't seen 2/3 of the movies. Otherwise a good first try to a podcast. Keep up the good work
Love the format bro keep these coming! Stargate is definitely the best of the lot, tho as a kid I loved zilla.
Love Roland’s films. Even the stinkers. Loved this show Niyat! Would love to see one on Shamalayan!
I look forward to more of this. Stargate was absolutely God Tier. But Day After Tomorrow should have been B Tier. That's my hill to die on. Thanks for this.
You guys should do a tier list for Guillermo del toro movies
It's trademarked Godzilla. Toho's official stance, and I researched this, that the movie and following TV series is trademarked as Godzilla. After 2004, it is trademarked as Zilla
I cant say I dislike any of them specifically, except for the sequel to ID4. The biggest crime a movie can commit is be boring
You can make a drinking game where you take a shot whenever Preston says "like", but then everyone would die of alcohol poisoning.
So he converts to being a Mayan and then fights for them seen that somewhere before, something about doing the Tango with Wolves and there was another movie when a abandoned Viking kid joins the Native American resistance against the Vikings. The old white savior trope.
My 3 favorite Emmerich movies are Independence Day, Day After Tomorrow and 2012.
The honorable mention is Moonfall, such a good film
Hey niyat, just wanted to say thank you for all you do. I have to say you have a great voice. I fall asleep listening to your reviews. I love how you started a podcast ty again!
Have been a stargate fan ever since I saw the original movie as a kid. Found myself agreeing with most of your ranking, for those Ive seen of course ( universal solider for an example). Also just want to say it was fun listening to u guys and look forward to your next one.
Enjoying it so far! Will have to let me know when your editor starts watching films!
So happy to see a podcast from you. Is there an RSS feed for this to listen with a podcatcher?
Not yet. This was a bit out of the blue, but I'll set one up soon!
@@filmcomicsexplained Awesome, can't wait! Keep up the good work 🙂
I love Roland Emmerich movies, like I love the melodramas of Martin score or nolans time bending action neonoir or the snappy dialogs of Quentin.. Loud Bombastic, visually awe aspiring world ending wildness that just demonstrates how much I crave that insanity and he's the only one who consistently hits that itch for me.. Moon fall? Wtf, pure fing nuts, but I loved it.
FCE PODCAST!? UHM YES PLEASE
Titanic was 1997 as far as I can remember. Correct me if I'm wrong, so ID4 is the 1996 Hollywood biggest film.
Really loved listening to you guys and agree with most of your ratings. Personally I would have put Universal Soldiers into A and have it on the lower side of A, sort of like an A- while also moving The Day After Tomorrow into the B tier and giving it a B- but that could also just be because it holds a special place in my heart.
Awesome ranking.
Thanks Damian! :)
@@filmcomicsexplained your welcome you should do more videos on the boys with the 3rd season coming in June 3rd !
Holy Crap, is this real!? Wow!
Next time, you should ranked Steven Spielberg's movies from worst to best.
Loved this podcast, I like learning more about the man behind the channel
*”YOU’D ALL BE DEAD IF IT WASN’T FOR MY DAVID!!”*
And President Bill Pullman’s speech was stealing riffs from Dylan Thomas
Also I need to thank you for mentioning moon 44. Pretty sure I saw it at least once as a kid as some of those scenes look familiar. But just could not remember what the hell it was called.
As I recall an interesting movie.
Never seen Moon 44, it sounds cool
The sequel to Independence Day was straight hot garbage🚮🚮🚮
Will Smith punching the alien was a warning.
It was boiled shite
Great podcast :)
I want to see and explain video of the movie The Invisible from 2007
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😉
Love your work Niyat but please partner with a guy who has at least scene Stargate.
Do David Fincher next!
I feel like Preston was in the video to just say, that he basically didnt saw any of those movies and that he aproves of the placement.
Love this
What i find enjoyable is ToHo making Zilla no longer Godzilla was the best thing for the kaiju. Now folks want to drown more of it.
For a future video could you cover the saberlink appliances from G-force
Ah, Stuttgart, my favourite base from UFO: Aftershock.
I'm sure Niyat is a really nice guy. He sounds like a nice guy. That any of the movies haha! Step your game up Niyat
Roland Emmerich movies. An amalgation of what if? And based on existing conspiracy theories, equals you get an enjoyable popcorn movie. I've yet to check out moonfall.
The Ancient Enemy.
Moonfall for me felt like it was a mix of transformers and halo vibe😆😆 But I enjoyed it nonetheless
my guilty pleasure is Moon 44
Your "M. Night. wont make a twist" aged badly.
Knock at the cabin entered chat...
This should be interesting.
Day after tomorrow is actually science fact - read the Chan Thomas Adam and Eve story or earth under fire, how humans survive during these 12k and 6k cycles….Roland Emmerich obviously read both of the books…
can you do the Lazarus Pit from DC Comics
I recommend watching the channel 'History Buffs' on the Patriot movie. I really don't think it's a God tier movie at all.
I just dont understand how "zilla" looks silly and the traditional godzilla dosen't.
"I'm joined here by my good friend and editor Preston who's a huge film buff."
Sure, but what does he do with all of his spare time when he's clearly not watching Roland Emmerich movies...?
Niyat: "Have you seen this"?
Preston: "I have not.." "like".
Midway is underrated imo. And yes, it's very very Emmerich Hollywood Murica Fuck Yeah, but it's up there among Emmerich's best.
Midway has a strong cast that I think really helps the movie out, good “popcorn movie”you can watch a couple times imo.
But I’m partial to WWII movies and am glad whenever they make a major movie about it. No matter whether “America fuck yeah” or make you re-examine how you feel type ones so…
When you make a Midway movie, it should be better then the Charlton Heston version.
It was too Hollywood 👎
Well according to your last video, their all about the same film lol!
That's true!
Ik bascily none of these movies but they seem good probably wouldent watch them snice I’m not the biggest fan of 90s movie but that’s reason I watch you
It is a cardinal sin to put Independence Day in A tier.. it definitely deserves God Tier. Course I am in my forties and a total geek about sci fi films, especially invasion type movies. ID4 broke a weekend opening record at the time. I saw it at the theaters at least 4 times, however this is just my opinion but among my friends and peers we always agree ID4 was the GOAT of blockbuster films in the 90's. Come NIYAT, I have faith you to change that rating ;) lol
I hear ya, it was bloody amazing!
The only god tier I disagree with is the patriot, otherwise perfect
I hope the artists had decent pay and work hours. Takes alot of time and resources to make visuals at that level. With better script and plot, most of these movies could have ranked higher.
Sadly that is kind of a trend in todays cinema. Passionate artists and tech pushing visuals to the extreme but let down by writing.
Huh, stargate. Sounds familiar.
How do I join your discord my guy?
Roland is still better than Michael Bay
It was hard to hear you butcher Richard Dean Anderson's name LoL! And the series was better than the movie I think 🙂
Independence Day is god tier. It is far more iconic and career defining than Stargate.
Also i wish you would release this video tomorrow, you call each other "dude" so frequently, it just asking for a Wednesday. Also toad avatars.
The roldussy franchises
Bruh the co-host has never seen anything
Ranking Emmerich films saying it'll be a blast?🤔
Oh the irony.😂
What has this guy seen haha😅
Like nothing..like...I mean...like..like
Wow the list was good till MoonFall. It’s one of the worst movies ever made and biggest failures of all time. There is not ONE redeeming quality in it. It would be 5 places below Disaster and should end his career directing.
We defi itively need a reboot sequel of Stargate.
2012 belongs to trash.
Patrick Tatopoulos is BOSS!
All Godzilla media is embarrassingly asinine crap, therefore the Emmerich/Devlin Godzilla is the only one that's even watchable at all!
David Arnold's score alone is God Level!
All 0/10, every one of 'em.
