I've seen all of the movies, at least twice, and watched reactors view the entire series (at least 8 different reactors). Hearing that concept, in this movie, reminded me of when we next hear it... and I've NEVER thought of it, before. Really enjoying your reviews.
Arguably, both Captain America and Iron man proved one another's jabs at each other wrong in their post-Avengers movies. "Big man in a suit of armor... Take that off and what are you?" Pretty self explanatory. "You're a laboratory experiment, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle" Cap proves he has the heart of a loyal hero even without fighting, as he shows he's willing to let Bucky kill him before fighting a friend.
@@smileyhappyface5864 They were both proved even more in Endgame when Tony obviously sacrifices himself to save the world and then Steve is worthy of Mjolnir.
Fun fact about Tony telling the kid, "I loved you in a Christmas Story, by the way." The actual kid from a Christmas Story (Peter Billingsly) was the engineer in the first whom Obadiah yelled at, "Tony Stark was able to make this in a cave!" and he replied, "Well, I'm not Tony Stark."

The biggest thing to take away from this is the impact that the Battle for New York had on Tony. He is not terrified by falling from a wormhole or seeing lots of fighting... he is terrified because he knows someone sent Loki and that was more like a scouting force than the actual army. He becomes obsessed with what is coming and defending the earth and those he loves from that threat. That fear, that knowledge drives EVERYTHING he does from here on out (arguable everything that happens from here on out).
In the comics Pepper got a suit she called Rescue, civilians needed protecting during big battles, that was her role. She could fight in a pinch but as a Reserve Avenger she was used mainly as back-up & defence when the main team needed extra help.
Such an underrated movie, I love Iron Man 3 for the same reason. It’s humbling and enjoyable to see Tony go through normal people problems like having anxiety attacks. It shows that he’s just like everybody else.
Nice reaction. You definitely caught the theme of this one - "Tony isn't Iron Man, Iron Man is Tony." It also has some other key points in it. 1) Tony is fighting some heavy mental anxiety issues - a.k.a. PTSD. He knows Earth won a battle against aliens, but he is stressed out believing it may not be over. 2) The shrapnel is removed from his chest. He no longer needs the mini arc reactor to survive. There are some continuity errors in this film that drops it a few points for me. Overall the good outweighs the bad.
@@Chronal-Rendthe only one I can think of is destroying the suits and then having them back immediately for AoU. I enjoyed the movie regardless but it is kinda strange. It works better as a standalone sequel to The Avengers.
In addition to the movies there are also Marvel One-Shots that were produced during Phase One and Two of the MCU that are all about 5-10 mins long. They aren't required viewing but I think you would really enjoy "All Hail the King" as it gives The Mandarin, aka the British actor Trevor Slattery, a bit more character development and ties the story between Iron Man and Iron Man 3 together a bit more.

I've always really liked this one. For some reason, it's not popular among a segment of fandom, but for me, it's definitely in my top Marvel tier. And I loved that they addressed the stress on mental health that this kind of life would take, even on someone as flippant and kind of arrogant as Tony. It really humanizes the character, and the script handles it in a very graceful way. It was an interesting choice. Also, I'm definitely in the Harley fan club. :D

Tony having PTSD and panic attacks is totally relatable. After everything he has been through, it really humanizes him to see the effects of all the missions and stuff from previous movies has had.
Fun fact: Tony telling everyone his address on national tv is actually a really great idea for a plot. Tony Stark is experiencing severe ptsd but to the rest of the world he’s an invulnerable billionaire who isn’t fazed by anything, so he not only says it to keep up appearances of being fearless, but also because he’s in denial of being afraid and trying to convince himself he’s not👍🏽

After the 1st one, this is my favorite Iron Man... seeing Tony have to rely on Tony instead of Iron Man is awesome. Seeing Tony suffer anxiety attacks, fear, relationship issues, weakness... he feels so human, like one of any of us would. And it makes Iron Man so much more bad ass to have gone through that and realized he doesn't need the suit... because HE is Iron Man.
Do they really cure Tony easily? It could be argued that Tony is never really “cured” of his PTSD. I am not even sure if someone can be cured 🤔 Tony has definitely learned how to manage it, but as future events and films will show, Tony is far from cured, at least that is my take away🤷♀️😁👍

These videos are always the best thing to watch to start the day/week! Always fills me up with the serotonin I need to get through my day. Iron Man 3 was actually my favorite Marvel movie of all time (Before Endgame and No Way Home) because it was just so good! Awesome reaction as always, buddy!!
"seeing real life problems in a superhero movie" .... yeah that's pretty much been the secret to Marvel's success ever since Stan Lee started writing most of the comics many many decades ago. That's what made the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man so different from anything DC had going at the time.
YES, the suit works in water......back in Avengers 1, the first time you see Tony, he is under water, isolating the building to be completely off grid, so that it was being powered by the ark reactor alone not to mention later, going into space.....his suits ARE AIR TIGHT
I'm glad you understand the theme of.this movie. So many people don't like it or ask why he didn't just use all his suits in the beginning, but the whole time he stuck with Mk. 42 as a shell of armor to protect him and needing to prove that he didn't need all those others suits. Then by the end end he's like fuck it, i made them, i am iron man.
You really, really need to watch the Marvel One Shot "All Hail the King." Us fans of the Mandarin were .... very vocal about how terribly Marvel treated the character. This short story was an apology and a promise that the real Mandarin would make an appearance.
Iron Man 3 at its core is watching Tony really come to grips with his own mortality. before he was just be fun-loving Playboy but after that near-death experience that really shook him and made him realize that he's just another man it's actually interesting and heartbreaking to watch his character go through this ark in this movie
This movie is SO underrated. And I think it came up to have more sense as if advanced through the Spiderman Movies and the Man vs. Suit conflict. And it ended up as Peter making his own suit, no features or anything and coming to have to realize that SpiderMan IS Peter Parker, as Tony says at the end of this movie, as he IS Ironman, meaning he was successful on getting that into Peter.
I agree! I loved this movie. So many online comments said, "oh, it's the worst one..." Bullshit. The humanity of Tony Stark in this movie was the WHOLE movie. I think RDJ should have gotten award nominations for this, at the very least.
Yeah, if you like Trevor Slattery's character, definitely check out "Hail to the King," a Marvel one shot. It's entertaining, and expands a bit more on his character.
This is my favorite iron man movie. Because it shows the human side of superheroes. The ptsd, Tony without a suit for the majority of the movie. This is the movie I fell in love with Tony stark.
Welcome to Phase 2! Love your enthusiasm for the MCU. One fun bit of continuity to watch for in phase 2 is that in each movie someone gets an arm cut off. Killian in this one. It is a nod to Star Wars in that in the second movie (Empire Strikes Back) Luke loses a hand.
Dude I'm way late on watching your videos, but now that I am I got to say, they're extremely entertaining. Especially this one, making all the jokes about Aldrich Killian. I've literally laughed out loud every time. I was kind of having a rough day and your jokes made it better. Thank you
I saw this at the premiere in London just after meeting RDJ, the place went crazy laughing when they revealed The Manderin and an English Actor, still cracks me up
I think you nailed it. Tony stark makes the suit, the suit doesn't make him. He even says in Spiderman "if you're nothing without the suit you shouldn't have it"
Mate mate mate. Brad Pitt is Guy Pearce, an absolute acting legend. To see his abilities watch LA Confidential and Priscilla Queen of the desert. The “oh he’s English now” is another screen legend - Ben Kingsley or should I say SIR Ben Kingsley. To get a grip on his abilities watch Gandhi and Sexy Beast… Marvel use these acting legends to add weight.. They are acting legends.
Im from Chattanooga and the irony of the problems he supposedly had here are that we were the first city with fiber optic internet. We are literally called Gig city 😂. He would have had the fastest connection in the world here. 😅
First off, love your energy in these reactions, Alex! Iron Man 3 does bring out a lot of emotion and depth in Tony Stark’s character, which is really fascinating. I totally get what you mean about that human side. You nailed it with how he struggles but also protects those he loves! Also, I have to share-while I think Iron Man is an awesome superhero, my favorite will always be Deadpool! His humor and unpredictability keep me hooked every time. Can’t wait to see your reaction to Thor: The Dark World next. Keep up the great work and stay awesome!
A lot of people were like "hurr durr, he isn't in the suit most of the movie" when it came out meanwhile it is probably one of the best standalone MCU movies. It gets so real with the psychology of Tony Stark and how a superhero handles trauma while also showcasing that no-one can replace Tony in that suit and outside of it too. The vilain is kinda meh but I think that's the point, he's a demon Tony created with his own ego like every Iron Man vilain in the MCU and unintentionally pushes Tony to get over his trauma.

These videos are always the best thing to watch to start the day/week! Always fills me up with the serotonin I need to get through my day. Iron Man 3 was actually my favorite Marvel movie of all time (Before Endgame and No Way Home) because it was just so good! Awesome reaction as always, buddy!!
This movie makes me think of a quote by Geto "are you Gojo because you're the strongest or are you the strongest because you're Gojo".
I really enjoy your reactions. Based on what I've seen, you're a quality guy. Wishing you and your family all the best. Cheers!
same for you!
The hype when I first saw the iron legion scene cannot be described
"seeing real life problems in a superhero movie" .... yeah that's pretty much been the secret to Marvel's success ever since Stan Lee started writing most of the comics many many decades ago. That's what made the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man so different from anything DC had going at the time.
Good stuff bro! CAN NOT WAIT FOR MORE MARVEL!!!!
I honestly think this is the best Iron Man movie. I really really enjoyed it. Loved your reaction aswell, one of the best out there!
thank you so much! :)
In the early comics, AIM were sometimes as big a threat as Hydra.
Fun video! I feel like it needs a little "OMG" counter in the corner. Every time Alex says "oh my gawd!" it should increment by one.
YES, the suit works in water......back in Avengers 1, the first time you see Tony, he is under water, isolating the building to be completely off grid, so that it was being powered by the ark reactor alone
not to mention later, going into space.....his suits ARE AIR TIGHT
I'm glad you understand the theme of.this movie. So many people don't like it or ask why he didn't just use all his suits in the beginning, but the whole time he stuck with Mk. 42 as a shell of armor to protect him and needing to prove that he didn't need all those others suits. Then by the end end he's like fuck it, i made them, i am iron man.
29:10 I absolutely love the Scene when Tony calls all of his Marks to Fight!
Casting Sir fcking Ben Kingsley in this role was one of the best casting in history...
Great job you’re the first person to recognize Yinsen , also if you haven’t seen Frailty I think you’ll love it
It was funny watching this movie with ya. Now I'm watching all of the movies you posted up. 🤣
thank you so much!
Literally subscribed like 3 days ago and I love the content keep it up 🔥💯👍
thank you so much!
I agree! I loved this movie. So many online comments said, "oh, it's the worst one..." Bullshit. The humanity of Tony Stark in this movie was the WHOLE movie. I think RDJ should have gotten award nominations for this, at the very least.
Harley Keener (The kid) makes one more appearance in the MCU which doubled my appreciation of what they accomplished. 😉
Man I Can't Wait To See Alex's Reaction To Captain America 2!
Yeah, if you like Trevor Slattery's character, definitely check out "Hail to the King," a Marvel one shot. It's entertaining, and expands a bit more on his character.
And it connects to a movie in phase 4
🤐😉
"Normally 2 and 3 are not a great movies"... You're gonna go crazy watching upcoming Captain America movies, man 😅
Legend has it he is still figuring out THE THEME OF THIS MOVIE
Yeah, this, and Die Hard, and Lethal Weapon, are on my Christmas Movie list.
Tony doesn’t need the arc reactor in his chest to power the suit. They have their own internal arc reactor since iron man 2
This is my favorite iron man movie. Because it shows the human side of superheroes. The ptsd, Tony without a suit for the majority of the movie. This is the movie I fell in love with Tony stark.
The kid that helps Tony reminds me of Sean Astin in "The Goonies."
“If you’re nothing without the suit, you shouldn’t have it.”
Just want you to know that this boy who helped Tony, attend to his funeral in End Game. That was awesome
Damn, you did Guy Pierce no justice here. 😅
He's a great actor that's been in many amazing movies.
He was a villan in The Count of Monte Cristo too!
Dude I'm way late on watching your videos, but now that I am I got to say, they're extremely entertaining. Especially this one, making all the jokes about Aldrich Killian. I've literally laughed out loud every time. I was kind of having a rough day and your jokes made it better. Thank you
This is my favorite YT channel by far. I love watching your reactions!
Welcome to the family! I love that you’re a fan of the channel!
I saw this at the premiere in London just after meeting RDJ, the place went crazy laughing when they revealed The Manderin and an English Actor, still cracks me up
I think you nailed it.
Tony stark makes the suit, the suit doesn't make him.
He even says in Spiderman "if you're nothing without the suit you shouldn't have it"
Love that you examine the themes of these as individual movies. After Ultron is my favorite stretch gotta say
Yes the suit works in water. It was Tony that took cap America from the ice.
First MCU Christmasy entry, but it’s not the only one!
I just KNOW at that first Pepper Iron Man scene where she saved him he was INSTANTLY hard.
"Plants are way smarter than we give them credit for". I am going to pretend you didn't say that!
lol
Honestly, Marvell Mondays are something for me to wait through the week at this point ❤️
