There's also a quite strange glitch tied to Old King Allant where he'll suddenly have some very stiff animations for his attacks where his arms will barely move, yet his body still shifts as if he was doing the attack. My brother ran into it a few years back and we have no idea how to replicate it
You can do it in the old version still but it isn’t in the remake, the duplication glitch still remains and a new glitch where you use a gold coin in front of waifu “where you can level up”
Great video! Here are some other fun glitches I've come across: You can summon phantoms into an area where you've already defeated the boss by having another player lay down their sign near the borderline where the boss's fog gate used to be. Then the host quickly runs back and forth across the borderline in order to rapidly reload available signs. You can block attacks without the brief stun animation by tapping L1 at the right moment as if parrying an incoming attack. After parrying an enemy, you can tap square and R1 simultaneously. The enemy will be riposted and go into the animation of being attacked, but the player will go into the animation of using the hotkey item (and actually use it). By jumping off a ledge behind the Black Skeleton past the illusory wall at the beginning of Shrine of Storms 2, the player can reload right before falling to their death. They will spawn in the Storm King boss arena.

The most interesting exploit in my opinion was the one that allowed you to use normally unusable items, which among other things could allow phantoms to become hosts in other people's worlds. Doing so could allow you to rewrite world state, reviving bosses and changing world tendency depending on where you were and whose world you were in. A fun list nonetheless though!
DeS is to me what DS1 is for others. DeS was my first of the souls series and my nostalgia trip that I find myself going back to, and the only reason I still have my PS3.
the reason dark souls 1 is so many peoples nostalgia souls game is because it was on ps3, xbox, and pc. Meaning so many more people could play it, since i've become i fan of the series i'd love to go play demon's souls, but i can't justify buying an old ps3 purely for that game alone.

@@kricku I'm lucky I only had to spend around an hour or so to farm the Pure Bladestone. Granted, that is still too long, but I've heard horror stories of people not getting it even after weeks. Also, word of advice to players farming Pure Bladestone. 1. Always go in Pure Black World Tendency. Anything aside from that guarantees you will never obtain it 2. Go for Black Phantom Skeletons. Their drop rate is significantly better. 3. DO NOT LEVEL UP LUCK.

There was a glitch that I found a long time ago, I skipped the entire Latria world. I wanted to help a player in 3-1, but then I was summoned by the monk. I didn't want to be summoned as a red phantom, so I killed my character when the message was showed. After the loading screen, I was in front of the monk to fight him. So I was able to skip 3-2 and 3-3. Of course, I could also kill the maneaters from behind.

hey I just found your channel and I subbed :) Also I wanted to share another glitch colorless demon soul glitch 1-All you have to do is attack the primeval demon until it's health is low enough to be killed in one hit 2-try invading with the black stone 3-when the message "invading as a black phantom" pops a second time kill it and loot it 4-let yourself be killed by the host 5-enjoy the primeval demon is alive again and it will drop another soul you can repeat the process as many times needed I don't take credit for it's discovery but it was really useful and it was the only glitch I used on demS also nowadays it's almost impossible to pull of since almost no one plays this game anymore :(
I never finished demons souls because of how awfully optimized it is, but I've always wished for a remaster, at least on PS4 so I could finally finish it.
Especially considering how successful FromSoft have become in recent years and the soulsborne community growing. Not to mention back to back hits, IMO haven’t made a bad game. Would definitely be nice to get a Demon Souls remaster, or a bundle with that and a Bloodborne remaster or 60fps patch for PS4 Pro. Oh well, we can dream. Stoked for Elden Ring though!
I remember doing all of this back in 2011 when I first played it. God this brings back memories. Now we have the remake I can't wait to play this game with a fresh coat of paint and hopefully fixed mechanics!
Man Eater glitch was popular because back when the game was new and people didn't know how to build their characters or how weapon upgrades worked, people would often have too little DPS to kill the first man eater before the 2nd one showed up. So they'd end up fighting both at once, which is a lot harder than fighting just one. You can duplicate consumables using the multiplayer dupe glitch, it's just kinda pointless with Thomas duping. Only really useful for muling.
I was fortunate to get demons souls a month after it came out and I remember spending over a year lurking the internet for information on this game. I loved the demons souls wiki and I knew about all of these (and used them) except for number 2, I saw that for the first time during AGDQ this year. My friend and I spent weeks trying to learn everything that this game has to offer, I remember even using the soulsucker spell on black phantom skeletons in shrine of storms during ng+ trying to get the most souls that I could, I probably spent hours and hours doing that before learning about duping. Farming ephemeral stones was a bitch, I would repeatedly kill those giant club dudes in 5-3 blank phantoms, it was such a pain in the ass. This game is really special to me, I still remember the very first time I saw it and bought it the next day. Great video dude!
Dormin okay, I wanted to wait until I had an opportunity to test it out for myself before I made an ass out of myself. I just turned the game on, and I got a prompt that says "the demons souls online service has been terminated" I can conclude that it does not work

There is one pretty unknown glitch with the old monk. that allows you to skip all of stage 3. You just need to get summoned as champion for the old monk, and die before the loading screen. If timed correctly, it warps you to the old monk fight, but not as champion, but as challenger. If you win the fight, you are done with stage 3. I once even managed to warp straight into the boss room, where a red phantom already waited for me. Pretty hilarous, since he had no idea why I did not enter through the fog gate, but instead warped right in front of him.

Nice list. I don't know if you were interested in more glitches, but there are a lot more. Move-swapping and tumble buffing. (Just like in DS1) Using unusable items, dropping undroppable items, becoming a host in while summoned, resetting your world to that of a summoned player, current equip item duplication (Throw a firebomb, but don't lose the quantity of firebombs), There is quite a few out of bounds areas as well, and my favorite, the Infinite moment glitch. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but if your curious about these I can show/ make videos.
My fav glitch is still the usable item dupe. Makes farming ore insignificant. And I dont have to choose where to use boss souls on first or second playthroughs
Square_WaveTV It really does. I plan to make about 10 characters. and kill all the first bosses of the first run and dupe all the ores, souls and consumables without leveling that much. So I hav 10 blank slates for the game in case I try to find some pvp. I know theres actually still a good amount of players on the game. Just not nearly as much as there used to be lol

Wudchuk Squirl yeah I've been playing on yuvi's servers. They can be played in ps3, visit the subreddit for demon's souls they explain how to do it there. It's not even complicated, no jailbrraking required, just editing your dns address
The back of the spider and the fat minister undying are the only ones I didn't know of. I used the item duplication glitch...but no others. I used it because I had read/heard that a group of people were going to pvp on the game so I wanted to get in on that action. At least I was pretty far (I just killed the Flamelurker). I was under leveled for my progress, however, and didn't feel overpowered at all the rest of the playthrough. It was fun as hell, and was my second Souls game, a year before Dark Souls 2 came out.
Good video! While it didn't make the list, it's actually possible to summon a blue or red phantom in an area where a boss is already defeated. With this exploit, you can PvP in boss arenas or get help fighting some of the nastier Black Phantom NPCs.
You forgot the soul sucker exploit. In pvp, instead of killing players, it drains player’s soul level and grants you one as well. If one player were to carry as much spice as possible, they could keep sucking levels out of another player. However, if the player losing levels closes out of the game, that player would only lose one level no matter how many times he got his level sucked. I believe that exploit still worked up until they shut down the servers
Thats not a glitch, it was meant to work that way. False King Allant can do the same thing to the player character. Spice definitely made it a lot more dangerous to leave your game unattended though!
Even after all these years, even with all those glitches...this game still give me goosebumps for all amazing experiences I had while playing it. Not to mention it marked the start of souls series. It's a surprise/shame we never had a remake.
It’s the Sony licensing that is somewhat prohibitive. Since Demon's was a ps3 exclusive Sony owns the rights which means From can’t remake or remaster it without the green light.
Miyazaki said that he doesn´t like the idea of remastering these games, but also said that if the fans really want it then it should be ok. But it's not up to him to decide if the game is remastered or not.
I thought you might of mentioned the sequence break of skipping the Old Hero fight and going straight to the Storm Demon fight. Rolling off the side just after the adjudicator fight/stone and then quitting the game and to restart widen you hear your hero scream. If done properly you will start where the Storm Demon fight will take place. To trigger it run back to the fog gate where the old hero fight would of taken place loading in the smaller mantis like demons.
Two interesting things from my Japanese copy: 1: When I try the dup glitch, my Nex. Binding ring still warps me even if I rapidly press O out the menu. However when I speak to Thomas he has 99-1023 of the item. 2: When I drop below out of bounds, my 2nd character didnt land on the tunnel and died. However when loaded back in he was behind the boss too. Great video man! Thanks for reading this if you do
I used the item duplication trick (which also works with upgrade materials) to duplicate Pure Bladestones to help other players skip the annoying grinding for one to get the Platinum trophy.
its incredible that the online servers are still running w lots of player ghosts. I wish they would port it to ps4, with improved graphics. a true classic game.
Orthane yeah I got my ps4 just to play bloodborne and never regretted it. another masterpiece that must be played. you can get it for $20 with dlc included on psn sale.
A glitch I've found is if you were to die try turning off the console before "You've died" text popped up. That way you still have full health and the game will dropped you off at last save point which is sometimes at the fog door.
Interesting that Stockpile Thomas' duplication glitch results in a 1023 stack of consumables. 1024 is the maximum number accessible by ten binary switches - I wonder if that speaks to Demon's Souls code or it's just a coincidence.
John Delgado Play Dark Souls 3 and crash to desktop when trying to access the dlc. Or crash when walking near a light source with an open face helmet. Or have from patch out all the fun.
John Delgado It's a from software issue, my pc is fine. also, you don't buy desktops for gaming, you build them. From Software are mainly Console developers and they have issues coding for pc, they've gotten better ever sense Dark Souls 2 but they still have a ton of problems to work out, most are framerate related as they used to tie the engine and physics to the framerate and still do.
I hope not. I also hope they make the bosses non-cheesable. DeS is such a broken game that most people never even played it "as intended", because it's so easy to cheese (almost) everything. It'd probably be one of the hardest if not the hardest Soulsborne game if you were forced to play it as intended.

@@steel5897 As someone who adores Demon's Souls, in my personal opinion it is one of the easiest in the series, once you get a good understanding of it. However it is the most punishing due to black world tendency which can screw you over on a blind play through. For the Remake I do want these bugs to be removed as the duplication glitch can completely break the game, that along with toning down magic as it was insanely overpowered.
I remember in this game I accidently hit the Vendor in one of the areas. Turned out being one of the most needed vendors to upgrade a number of weapons. He then attacks you from then on and you cannot buy, or upgrade, anything from then on in game and this was after playing about 20 or 30 hours. Pissed me off!
theres another exploit that not many people know about i guess, but you can drop undroppable items like the red eye stone. to do this you must have at least 3 consumables that you will eat (reccomended crescent moon grass) and have the 3 grasses arranged above the undroppable item (red eye stone in this case) so in your items tab of you inventory there would be 3 grass and a red eye stone underneath it. then you have to quickly select and eat the 3 grasses from the menu one after the other and right after the 3rd grass you would quickly press X again on the last grass before it would dissappear from your inventory and the normal prompt window for grass would pop up, but you would be hovering over the red eye stone now because the grass is gone, the game thinks theres still 1 more grass left and treats the red eye stone as a grass and lets you choose the "drop" command. this glitch/exploit is very helpful because you can give your friend a red eye stone without him having to beat the game first. It also leaves the glowing item sprite on the ground even though the item was picked up.

the duplication glitch of droping items to a friendly summon still works for the whole dark souls serie also, except bloodborne because it doesn't have a "drop" command
There is a Dragon god sequence break, After using the first harpoon there are some stairs that take you to the next sequence. Jump off the second top of the stairs and try to land on the railing. Jump off the railing and you should be in the outer area where you finish dragon god at the end, from there you will go towards the next harpoon without the stress of dragon god trying to burn you there will be a opening to jump back into the sequence to the last piece of debris before the second harpoon. I hope this helps and i hope it made sense.
I actually considered this one, but it ultimately didn't make the cut since I had already used the Armor Spider sequence break. It doesn't save a lot of time, but its certainly a lot easier if you can execute it correctly!

@@n0isyturtle I kind of wished Fromsoft made an item to counteract the effects of the spear. Something like iron flesh to make it so that the spear can't break your shit so easily.
It works on all items that can stack, like souls or materials for upgrading. It doesn't work with weapons. Only the first method he said works for weapons.
The one I was definitely expecting was the whole de-level your characters luck so you could invade the first area with a level like 110 build and be super rude.
You snipe the first maneater through the fog and then run inside next to the stairs wait for it to stop flying around and land then just POISON the crap out of the other one with its back turned to you.. I

I knew most, but definitely not all. Crazy there we so many. The one I used the most was in the world of the flying manta ray snipers where I would use the crows to get unlimited Colorless Demon Souls. (Dont roast me if I got the name of that wrong, it's been a few years)
I get playing the NG+ and beyond for the boss demons souls that have multiple uses, but the dupe glitch was a godsend for the upgrade path trophies and reaper farming.
Playstation Plus is going to stop giving away free PS3 games after March 2019... Hopefully Demon's Souls is one of those games so we can play one more time with a revived playerbase. Probably not though...

I mean, I'd argue Armored Core is more responsible for From's success as a big game company. Yeah, the Souls series launched them into the (somewhat) mainstream, but AC has been a consistently successful franchise for them for quite some time and before that, the King's Field games.
i don't even Yeah, it's pretty amazing. You have endless options to customize your AC, each body part can be applied individual colors, and there's endless parts to choose. The story's pretty amazing, told through cutscenes but not overtly long or complex. The environments are really detailed (not so much graphically wise but design wise) and the controls are really fluid. About the only downside is that the games are really really hard, but if you build your AC right, and understand the game's mechanics, it becomes remarkably easier. I love the Souls games + the King's Field games, but Armored Core is my favorite From Software game. You can get the first couple games from PS1 on the PSN for ... 4.99 I think? Definitely give them a chance.
i don't even Check out some gameplay footage of them on YT before you do. I'll sing praises to hell and high heaven about them but I'm also the first to admit they're not for everyone. The earlier games are a little less feature packed in the way of campaign stuff than later ones, and a lot more rough on the controls, but they're still more than worth it. Some other good mech series are the Mechwarrior games, the Front Mission series (Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre, essentially, but with mechs, called Wanzers), and an honorary mention to the Zone of the Enders series.
Lifelong PC gamer here, I want to play this damn game so bad. I've legit been considering buying a console to play one game for years. It's like a constant desire burning in the back of my mind for the entirety of my twenties.
I'm in the same boat, but I did buy a PS3 for Demon's Souls and it is well worth it, also you get access to all the other PS3 exclusives so it's not just for one game.

It is hilarious to see the Infinite Ephemeral Eyes and the duplication glitch in the same playthrough. I say this, because the duplication glitch, which allows you to duplicate almost ALL stackables, renders the infinite Ephemeral Eye glitch useless.
There's been over 10 thousand users registered on the private server. I'd say there's about a dozen of people playing on the server at peak hours for PAL and NTSC version users. Player interaction is made easier by the fact that you can look in which levels players are on the private server's website. You can also go on the Demon's Souls discord to get in touch players for multiplayer, usually there's gonna be someone who will be down for pvp or coop that will answer you in a few minutes. So yeah go ahead and try the server, it's the only way to experience multiplayer in this game nowadays so it's much better than online. You can even change your world tendency with special commands if you want to !
@@GoldenHairAngel It's probably the different sub-parts of a level which are separated by the fog doors. For example, if you see: "3 5-1 Valley of defilement 2", that mean that there are 3 players in the first level of the valley of defilement, and they are located in the part of the level after the first fog door and before the second one.
@@GoldenHairAngel Not many, but messages on the ground work very well. When it comes to invading and co-op it's harder, but at least you can check where the players are on thearchstones.com and invade them there, co-op with friends should work though.

The self-duplication glitch with stockpile Thomas works for everything except armor and weapons. So no more farming for grass, ore, ammo, souls, etc.

I didn't want to be summoned as a red phantom, so I killed my character when the message was showed. After the loading screen, I was in front of the monk to fight him. So I was able to skip 3-2 and 3-3. Of course, I could also kill the maneaters from behind.

1-All you have to do is attack the primeval demon until it's health is low enough to be killed in one hit
2-try invading with the black stone
3-when the message "invading as a black phantom" pops a second time kill it and loot it
4-let yourself be killed by the host
5-enjoy the primeval demon is alive again and it will drop another soul
you can repeat the process as many times needed
I don't take credit for it's discovery but it was really useful and it was the only glitch I used on demS
also nowadays it's almost impossible to pull of since almost no one plays this game anymore :(

Would definitely be nice to get a Demon Souls remaster, or a bundle with that and a Bloodborne remaster or 60fps patch for PS4 Pro. Oh well, we can dream. Stoked for Elden Ring though!

Man Eater glitch was popular because back when the game was new and people didn't know how to build their characters or how weapon upgrades worked, people would often have too little DPS to kill the first man eater before the 2nd one showed up. So they'd end up fighting both at once, which is a lot harder than fighting just one.
You can duplicate consumables using the multiplayer dupe glitch, it's just kinda pointless with Thomas duping. Only really useful for muling.
I was fortunate to get demons souls a month after it came out and I remember spending over a year lurking the internet for information on this game. I loved the demons souls wiki and I knew about all of these (and used them) except for number 2, I saw that for the first time during AGDQ this year. My friend and I spent weeks trying to learn everything that this game has to offer, I remember even using the soulsucker spell on black phantom skeletons in shrine of storms during ng+ trying to get the most souls that I could, I probably spent hours and hours doing that before learning about duping. Farming ephemeral stones was a bitch, I would repeatedly kill those giant club dudes in 5-3 blank phantoms, it was such a pain in the ass. This game is really special to me, I still remember the very first time I saw it and bought it the next day. Great video dude!

There is one pretty unknown glitch with the old monk. that allows you to skip all of stage 3. You just need to get summoned as champion for the old monk, and die before the loading screen. If timed correctly, it warps you to the old monk fight, but not as champion, but as challenger. If you win the fight, you are done with stage 3.
I once even managed to warp straight into the boss room, where a red phantom already waited for me. Pretty hilarous, since he had no idea why I did not enter through the fog gate, but instead warped right in front of him.

Nice list. I don't know if you were interested in more glitches, but there are a lot more. Move-swapping and tumble buffing. (Just like in DS1) Using unusable items, dropping undroppable items, becoming a host in while summoned, resetting your world to that of a summoned player, current equip item duplication (Throw a firebomb, but don't lose the quantity of firebombs), There is quite a few out of bounds areas as well, and my favorite, the Infinite moment glitch. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but if your curious about these I can show/ make videos.
My fav glitch is still the usable item dupe. Makes farming ore insignificant. And I dont have to choose where to use boss souls on first or second playthroughs
Yes! I'm glad I learned it after my first playthrough, so I know the struggle, but subsequent playthorughs are much less painful.
Square_WaveTV It really does. I plan to make about 10 characters. and kill all the first bosses of the first run and dupe all the ores, souls and consumables without leveling that much. So I hav 10 blank slates for the game in case I try to find some pvp. I know theres actually still a good amount of players on the game. Just not nearly as much as there used to be lol

All those glitches you mentioned are new to me, except for a few which I heard off, but have no idea how it's done (such as becoming a host while summoned: I remember GermanSpy using this for some Storm Ruler "fight clubs").

I used the item duplication glitch...but no others. I used it because I had read/heard that a group of people were going to pvp on the game so I wanted to get in on that action. At least I was pretty far (I just killed the Flamelurker). I was under leveled for my progress, however, and didn't feel overpowered at all the rest of the playthrough. It was fun as hell, and was my second Souls game, a year before Dark Souls 2 came out.

Item duping spared everyone from farming pure bladestone for the trophy.
Good video! While it didn't make the list, it's actually possible to summon a blue or red phantom in an area where a boss is already defeated. With this exploit, you can PvP in boss arenas or get help fighting some of the nastier Black Phantom NPCs.
You forgot the soul sucker exploit. In pvp, instead of killing players, it drains player’s soul level and grants you one as well. If one player were to carry as much spice as possible, they could keep sucking levels out of another player. However, if the player losing levels closes out of the game, that player would only lose one level no matter how many times he got his level sucked. I believe that exploit still worked up until they shut down the servers
Thats not a glitch, it was meant to work that way. False King Allant can do the same thing to the player character. Spice definitely made it a lot more dangerous to leave your game unattended though!
Even after all these years, even with all those glitches...this game still give me goosebumps for all amazing experiences I had while playing it. Not to mention it marked the start of souls series.
It's a surprise/shame we never had a remake.

It’s the Sony licensing that is somewhat prohibitive. Since Demon's was a ps3 exclusive Sony owns the rights which means From can’t remake or remaster it without the green light.

I thought you might of mentioned the sequence break of skipping the Old Hero fight and going straight to the Storm Demon fight. Rolling off the side just after the adjudicator fight/stone and then quitting the game and to restart widen you hear your hero scream. If done properly you will start where the Storm Demon fight will take place. To trigger it run back to the fog gate where the old hero fight would of taken place loading in the smaller mantis like demons.

Two interesting things from my Japanese copy:
1: When I try the dup glitch, my Nex. Binding ring still warps me even if I rapidly press O out the menu. However when I speak to Thomas he has 99-1023 of the item.
2: When I drop below out of bounds, my 2nd character didnt land on the tunnel and died. However when loaded back in he was behind the boss too.

I used the item duplication trick (which also works with upgrade materials) to duplicate Pure Bladestones to help other players skip the annoying grinding for one to get the Platinum trophy.

A glitch I've found is if you were to die try turning off the console before "You've died" text popped up. That way you still have full health and the game will dropped you off at last save point which is sometimes at the fog door.

From Software are mainly Console developers and they have issues coding for pc, they've gotten better ever sense Dark Souls 2 but they still have a ton of problems to work out, most are framerate related as they used to tie the engine and physics to the framerate and still do.

DeS is such a broken game that most people never even played it "as intended", because it's so easy to cheese (almost) everything. It'd probably be one of the hardest if not the hardest Soulsborne game if you were forced to play it as intended.

@@steel5897 As someone who adores Demon's Souls, in my personal opinion it is one of the easiest in the series, once you get a good understanding of it. However it is the most punishing due to black world tendency which can screw you over on a blind play through. For the Remake I do want these bugs to be removed as the duplication glitch can completely break the game, that along with toning down magic as it was insanely overpowered.

I remember in this game I accidently hit the Vendor in one of the areas. Turned out being one of the most needed vendors to upgrade a number of weapons. He then attacks you from then on and you cannot buy, or upgrade, anything from then on in game and this was after playing about 20 or 30 hours. Pissed me off!
theres another exploit that not many people know about i guess, but you can drop undroppable items like the red eye stone. to do this you must have at least 3 consumables that you will eat (reccomended crescent moon grass) and have the 3 grasses arranged above the undroppable item (red eye stone in this case) so in your items tab of you inventory there would be 3 grass and a red eye stone underneath it. then you have to quickly select and eat the 3 grasses from the menu one after the other and right after the 3rd grass you would quickly press X again on the last grass before it would dissappear from your inventory and the normal prompt window for grass would pop up, but you would be hovering over the red eye stone now because the grass is gone, the game thinks theres still 1 more grass left and treats the red eye stone as a grass and lets you choose the "drop" command. this glitch/exploit is very helpful because you can give your friend a red eye stone without him having to beat the game first. It also leaves the glowing item sprite on the ground even though the item was picked up.

the duplication glitch of droping items to a friendly summon still works for the whole dark souls serie also, except bloodborne because it doesn't have a "drop" command
There is a Dragon god sequence break, After using the first harpoon there are some stairs that take you to the next sequence. Jump off the second top of the stairs and try to land on the railing. Jump off the railing and you should be in the outer area where you finish dragon god at the end, from there you will go towards the next harpoon without the stress of dragon god trying to burn you there will be a opening to jump back into the sequence to the last piece of debris before the second harpoon. I hope this helps and i hope it made sense.
I actually considered this one, but it ultimately didn't make the cut since I had already used the Armor Spider sequence break. It doesn't save a lot of time, but its certainly a lot easier if you can execute it correctly!

The duplication glitch works on all items not just consumables
It works on all items that can stack, like souls or materials for upgrading. It doesn't work with weapons. Only the first method he said works for weapons.
The one I was definitely expecting was the whole de-level your characters luck so you could invade the first area with a level like 110 build and be super rude.
The one axe in that game where the r1 attacks knocked people over. PvP was fun

I get playing the NG+ and beyond for the boss demons souls that have multiple uses, but the dupe glitch was a godsend for the upgrade path trophies and reaper farming.

I mean, I'd argue Armored Core is more responsible for From's success as a big game company. Yeah, the Souls series launched them into the (somewhat) mainstream, but AC has been a consistently successful franchise for them for quite some time and before that, the King's Field games.

i don't even Yeah, it's pretty amazing. You have endless options to customize your AC, each body part can be applied individual colors, and there's endless parts to choose. The story's pretty amazing, told through cutscenes but not overtly long or complex. The environments are really detailed (not so much graphically wise but design wise) and the controls are really fluid. About the only downside is that the games are really really hard, but if you build your AC right, and understand the game's mechanics, it becomes remarkably easier. I love the Souls games + the King's Field games, but Armored Core is my favorite From Software game. You can get the first couple games from PS1 on the PSN for ... 4.99 I think? Definitely give them a chance.

i don't even Check out some gameplay footage of them on YT before you do. I'll sing praises to hell and high heaven about them but I'm also the first to admit they're not for everyone. The earlier games are a little less feature packed in the way of campaign stuff than later ones, and a lot more rough on the controls, but they're still more than worth it. Some other good mech series are the Mechwarrior games, the Front Mission series (Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre, essentially, but with mechs, called Wanzers), and an honorary mention to the Zone of the Enders series.

It is hilarious to see the Infinite Ephemeral Eyes and the duplication glitch in the same playthrough. I say this, because the duplication glitch, which allows you to duplicate almost ALL stackables, renders the infinite Ephemeral Eye glitch useless.
My favorite glitch in demon's souls is the Nexus black Smith dupe glitch. Best way to mid max stats and level.

There's been over 10 thousand users registered on the private server. I'd say there's about a dozen of people playing on the server at peak hours for PAL and NTSC version users. Player interaction is made easier by the fact that you can look in which levels players are on the private server's website. You can also go on the Demon's Souls discord to get in touch players for multiplayer, usually there's gonna be someone who will be down for pvp or coop that will answer you in a few minutes.
So yeah go ahead and try the server, it's the only way to experience multiplayer in this game nowadays so it's much better than online. You can even change your world tendency with special commands if you want to !

For example, if you see:
"3 5-1 Valley of defilement 2", that mean that there are 3 players in the first level of the valley of defilement, and they are located in the part of the level after the first fog door and before the second one.
