- In ambergris caye Belize We had some time to kill before our boat ride, so after some delicious breakfast we decided to explore a recommendation to see the only Iguana sanctuary in Ambergris Caye - The Iguana Eco Corner.
Meet Zyad and Alex, the wonderful boys who showed us around where over 300 iguanas live and are protected. We also got to meet the owner, Calvin who was not only amazing in his passion and mission to protect wildlife, but touched our hearts with the story behind why he started this sanctuary in the first place.
If you are ever in Ambergris Caye, we highly recommend checking out this place on your trip. Off the beaten path, it is simply a beautiful place with kind people who that clearly love and care about animals and the environment. What a gem!

Wow - great video! I really like the Iguana Guy. For me, that’s the best part of traveling. The possibility of meeting really interesting and memorable characters.
Totally agree! He was a wonderful person full of wisdom. Thanks for watching Josh!

Aww I am so happy you enjoyed it, Pysa! Love you lady! It's been so long but I always love seeing what you are up to and I hope we get to see each other one day soon!
a WISE MAN
Absolutely!! We had such an amazing time getting to know him and his story and sharing it with you. Honestly spending time at the iguana sanctuary is a reason to visit San Pedro.
Amazing video!! Where did you guys rent your golf cart from?
Thank you so much!! The golf cart was rented oddly from the owner of the convince store which was close to the ferry. There are many options on the island and we highly recommend it. It makes traveling around the island a breeze.
For your Tulum trip video top 12 things to do, were you able to do everything w/o a car?
Most of the time we rode bikes but we did have a car for the cenotes there are a couple in town that are great that you can reach on bikes as well. Dos Ojos cenote is a bit out of town.
