Adolin is honestly my favorite character. He's just...a good person. Even the whole thing with Kaladin and Shallan and how he was mature when he thought Shallan didn't want him anymore.
I couldn't be further on the opposite end of the spectrum from Eric on these books. I can't get enough of the combat and enjoy the politics, but tend to feel bogged down by the mental health stuff. Nice that there's a little something for everyone in each book
I actually really like the politics in OB, I think it's very well done. Older Brandon books it's less good, but I think he's gotten a lot better at that! I think for me, I have a hard time visualizing things as I read, so the longer combat doesn't quite work. Also likely because it's so Windrunner focused. I look forward to some more varied powersets. I can totally imagine why some of the mental health stuff is rough. As I said, Shallan was rough for me on my first read in this book. I appreciate it a lot more, but yeah, totally makes sense. -Eric
Kaladin prior to swearing his 2nd ideal was thinking that even though he wants to save his bridge mates, but he isn't going to be able to, which is basically his 4th ideal.
Love 17th shard. Thanks for the excellent content. Wind and Truth soon!

Take a drink every time I say "shout out" - Eric
Oh God. My Liver!
Mine is every time jofwu says "frustrated"
Adolin befriending his deadeye sword when no one else even bothers to try is the MOST edgedancer thing 😭

Shocking lack of Taravangian talk in here considering how much he did in this book
As you talked about who Evi knew Dalinar could be, I wondered. Why do like Evi, but hate Lirin?
52:44 What'cha doing there Eric?
Lmao what. Well, that's interesting. Enjoy phantom Eric editing issue in the background there.
