In most of his interviews he said it was mostly alcohol but eventually he did alcohol and cocaine together and by the end of his struggles before rehab it became ecstasy! Knock on wood 26 years sober with Gela by his side. So proud of him...
Excluding the foolish drug use, you can not have more of a charmed life than John Taylor did in the 1980's. I really do believe that John was Mother Teresa in his past life to have been so blessed.

My gf just never knew/heard about any drug use, guess her head was in the clouds thinking they were all infallible. But she's always loved them and always will!!!

Out of curiosity, where did you read it?

However in the past Renee talked many times about her parents insisting on her to be careful and go back giving her interventions about what happened to other people like Marilyn Monroe, etc. There was no reason for those interventions unless she was also doing drugs. Before splitting, they had come to Greece for holidays, in Symi and some other islands, and it was spread all around how “wild” they were during those holidays. Before breaking up Renee gave up everything and went to live in a Kibbutz with her sister for like 3 months or even more, where people live an agricultural life and work on the land. Imagine being a supermodel and suddenly feeling the need to go and start producing tomatoes and potatoes, lol! It was rehabilitation, many people actually even today go to a kibbutz in Israel to get a rehabilitation from alcohol and/or drugs. After that Renee decided to go back to school and give up modelling and went back in Paris (they were living in Paris mostly in 1989) but apparently John didn’t want to give up his drugs and wild life and they ended their relationship and Renee decided to go back to her country and continue her studies there. She then got involved with the father of her two first children, who apparently was also living a “wild life” (in one interview she said that after John she felt in love with another man who had also large hair and was living a wild life, meaning drugs) but eventually they broke up and then she got involved with Thomas with whom she’s still married and she gave birth to also another child with him.

They both split up because they wanted different things. Renée had been ready to have a baby. She was broody. She had covered the fridge door with children’s names while John was not ready to settle yet. All he could think about was how to get his band back on top. So John let Renee go because they were not on the same page anymore.

I like him better in 1985 "overweight" ( geez!!!!!) than paper thin/sick looking in 1989.
All the members of Duran were taking drugs back in the day. It was witnessed by people close to them. They testified, "By this time drugs were part of the scene for all the guys except Roger Taylor. They never used heroin and you couldn’t call them addicts, but they used lots of the stuff." Even Nick was using LSD. Simon even confessed in the daily mirror, "I got involved in drugs more than most people I know. I loved some drugs."

You're kidding, right? Maybe you saw more "warmth" between John and Amanda.....NOT! That was a recipe for disaster- she was a party animal who was just getting started (she was 19) and John wanted to settle down and stay home after a show only to find Amanda getting ready to hit the night. He said so in his book. The only good thing out of that relationship for John was his daughter.
I totally agree. Seeing John and his wife Gela you can tell how much they love each other. Amanda and Renee used John all the way. Amanda wanted to act in America and Renee wanted to be more famous. Gela has her own business and is quite successful in her own right!

She quit modeling at her top just because she didn't stand that frantic and competitive life of New York modeling. She just needed a healthier and safer life, that's why she quit at that top level. Have you seen Renee today, as a mature woman? She is naturally beautiful and has aged well. Whereas Gela Nash, if I may compare them, was never that pretty and looks terrible despite having countless procedures to retain her youth. John and Renee were well-matched in terms of beauty.

Not true, It was John who broke up with Renee. John affirmed in every interview he's not going to marry Renee. He makes it very clear about it in his book. They both split up because they wanted different things. Renée had been ready to have a baby. She was broody. She had covered the fridge door with children’s names while John was not ready to settle yet. All he could think about was how to get his band back on top. So John let Renee go because they were not on the same page anymore.

@sunnysu on the contrary john's face is very chiseled and the most pronounce from the rest of the band. he has the most perfect face in the world with magnificent features. If you think john was chubby and overweight looking then Simon must be bloated and extremely obese

@@anzu1970 He was not overweight. For Heaven's sake, the guy was naturally very thin and in 1985 he put on A FEW POUNDS that made him look even more delish, IMO. Then he lost the weight but got so painfully thin by 1988/1989 that he looked ANOREXIC. Not cool although he still managed to keep his nice facial features . I like him better in 1985 "overweight" ( geez!!!!!) than paper thin/sick looking in 1989.

You're kidding, right? Maybe you saw more "warmth" between John and Amanda.....NOT! That was a recipe for disaster- she was a party animal who was just getting started (she was 19) and John wanted to settle down and stay home after a show only to find Amanda getting ready to hit the night. He said so in his book. The only good thing out of that relationship for John was his daughter.
I totally agree. Seeing John and his wife Gela you can tell how much they love each other. Amanda and Renee used John all the way. Amanda wanted to act in America and Renee wanted to be more famous. Gela has her own business and is quite successful in her own right!

She was the one who made a lot of money on her own and also was a very smart young lady who definitely didn't use John in any way.. They were beautiful couple and I actually believe that it would have lasted if John wasn't that deep in problems at the time. She quited her modeling career after they broke up and went to start a family, which was her dream, to have a child with John, but sadly John wasn't ready yet..also she started studying psichology right after and now she is the writer. I'm not sure why you got that impression about Renee, her being with him just for money and fame, but I can guarantee you that she's definitely not that kind of girl.
@Johnny's Girl sorry but you are absolutely wrong. She didn't need to be more famous, she was already. She quit modeling at her top just because she didn't stand that frantic and competitive life of New York modeling. She just needed a healthier and safer life, that's why she quit at that top level. She could have continued for a lot of years at the top if she wanted to. She certainly didn't need John for her career, she had a fantastic one.

john is far more beautiful than renee. honestly john look perfect in every angle while renee she looks awful from side angle where her face looks flat and it shows her flat nose, big chin and underbite vividly. despite that she seems like a nice person and that's what matter
Have you seen Renee today, as a mature woman? She is naturally beautiful and has aged well. Whereas Gela Nash, if I may compare them, was never that pretty and looks terrible despite having countless procedures to retain her youth. John and Renee were well-matched in terms of beauty.

I know this for a fact cos I have tested and edited both John's and renee's picture with application that can transform/switch gender from male to female and vice versa, and John is far more beautiful than renee if he was a woman. John's face has a score of 9.17 while Renee only has a score of 8.54 due to her facial flaws that have been mentioned above.
