@pete smyth just because he wear glasses doesnt mean he was a nerd and doesnt change the fact that he's an incredible bass player/musician and one of the most beautiful man on the planet. what is it with wearing glasses has to do with that? jealous much?
John Taylor had been an am amazing bassman for over 40 years and will continue to do so and continue to WOW the audience's all over the world Happy 60th birthday 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
He almost looks shy. He is gorgeous ❤. In the 80s I never really noticed him, even though I lived them. Now he think he is the most beautiful guy ever! ❤❤❤
Cannot disagree more. I'm a bassist, and trust me -- JT was a solid player. Very unique blend of staccato/ghost note playing with some innovative syncopation within the lines.
Reading Andy Taylor's "Wild Boy" book right now and I'm mid-way [Very awesome autobiography so far!]. Next up will be John Taylor's "In The Pleasure Groove"...
@@cheville2001 I read both books. While John's book was more candid and discreet in same way, he opened up in a lot of topics. He never made any bad comments about the other members whereas Andy's book, although I enjoyed it and yes it had a lot of juicy information about John and Co, I find that's what Andy focused the most: to dish and make nasty comments about the other members of the band ( except Roger) and Nick's girlfriend.
Listening and watching John in this video has given me a change of opinion of him. He is not only HOT but is interesting to listen to. I thought he would still be out with different women etc but it is great he has settled down.
Loved the book. A great insight into the workings of DD. Feel slightly guilty though having been a massive fan, thinking that I may have played a part (all be it small) in John's addictions.
Oh, I must disagree. I play bass and a study of "Rio", for example, is a discovery in lofty chromatic ascents and root-5 motion. I know of few pop bassists whom I would categorise as so capable of such dense syncopation and precise articulation.
@ MASTERUDY SENSE - What are you talking about? If you'd actually heard their first album you'd appreciate what everyone else is referring to. His playing is superb...if you understand music at all that is?
totally agree with you all someone has to do is listen to Power Stations 'Living in Fear' cd and say he wasn't a good player. For me Andy and John were DD.
You must be joking, ever since John Taylor worked with Nile Rodgers his bass playing has been spot on. =1986 voted best bassest. YdFQqlvde8U (even Nile was proud of JT)
As a huge JT-fan myself, i'm wondering, how did JT combine his alcohol-abuse in the 80's with his popstar-image then? Because as long as i can remember, he didnt had the image of an "drugs/alcohol-abusing popstar" back in the day. Did he really drank/use drugs that much???
dweezil thomas i mean, i love the fact that he's sober now. But never expected him to be an addict though. Still got to read the book though. Sound like an interresting story.
dweezil thomas well we have the internet now and people spread the word easily if a popstar has been doing any sort of drugs. even if it is just a one off thing. and so many people were doing drugs, so it was normal for people to do. john said he felt so rockstar at one stage that he snorted coccaine through hundred pounds bills. it was just the rockstar lifestyle.
dweezil thomas the book is great because it talks about what it was like form him growing up and the club scene, how new romanticism kicked off. nd just generally the industry and how he felt throughout his career in the 80s. its just such a good book. written so well.
I heard it from a good source that JTaylor didn't play all bass on the first album, a sessions player did. JT then had to learn the bass parts for live gigs, which he did very, very well. The great thing about DD is they could have been just another teen band playing stupid/simple music. But they worked hard to be respectable players, wrote distinct, multi-layered parts adding dimensions that most fans don't know exist, & Simon's harmonies are counter/support-melodies that are ingenious. =-) ♯♫
SHERRIE WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU????? YOU WOULD LOVE THIS.. I MISS YOU EVERY DAY! NOT ONE DAY GOES BY I DON'T THINK OF YOU. SUCH AWESOME MEMORIES HERE WITH JOHN.
Andy Taylor was not liked by anyone in the band and John was just following the golden rule, "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything". The fact he left Andy out, when he could have blasted him, means John acted as any gentleman should.
christschool I'm surprised. I heard that Andy and John remained friends, even though Andy sued the band back in the 80's. Andy left again after rejoining the group for the reunion. I think the bank said something about not getting along with him. I guess that may have strained the relationship between him and John.
They're not being rude, just bantering with him. Being British himself, John is fully used to British banter which is really playful and near the knuckle - he was like that himself with the other boys in Duran Duran. Trust me, that man has never been afraid to give as good as he gets in interviews, in the 80s he was always honest and straight to the point, or edgy with his comments and humour. He himself admits to being a big talker and open with people. I could tell he really enjoyed being in this interview and playing off the ladies with humour.
John Taylor was, and still is, the coolest member of the band by far. As talented as he is beautiful!
Trust me, this guy is a fabulous musician. One of the best bass players of his generation
I accept all his things, whitout any kind of problem!!!
#JohnTaylor
sorry... without!
@pete smyth just because he wear glasses doesnt mean he was a nerd and doesnt change the fact that he's an incredible bass player/musician and one of the most beautiful man on the planet. what is it with wearing glasses has to do with that? jealous much?

Agreed he's a superb bass player. Both Duran Duran and Power Station.
he seems very intelligent and articulate when he talks... what an awesome guy....
I think it is the British accent? I am
from America, New Jersey. When ever I listen to someone with a British accent, they always sound more polished.
He's still handsome and genguine and likeable
My 13 yr old self still loves him
Still gorgeous.
Been in love with John since I was 6😍😍😍. That's true love 😀😀😀
El más bello de todos los bellos del mundo!!!

Bass God that's so well written and well spoken. The man is fookin' genius . . .
Well he is 52 y/o now. He's still very, very handsome. Despite the excess, he aged quite well.
Such a wonderful human being. Many blessings for much happiness always. Stay blessed always!❤
Excellent interview! John is so nice and down to earth.
I love him!!!!!! He's awesome!!!!!!!!!
I think he's great! What a remarkable guy!!
Still hot.
Cannot disagree more. I'm a bassist, and trust me -- JT was a solid player. Very unique blend of staccato/ghost note playing with some innovative syncopation within the lines.
I'm still in love with John , hes flustered all those "loose " women haha
John is so cool ( I had the priviledge of meeting my favourite DD in real life ).
There's a recent youtube video of John interviewing Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles. Worth a listen
My first true love.
He just doesn't age!
He is looking gorgeous - roll on wednesday when I will meet him again!
The Neurotic Outsiders need to get together, make an album and do a proper tour. They were a great straight up rock band.
😍😊🤣haha .
Love you JT!❤😁😁❤❤
FUNKIEST BRIT OF ALL TIME
He's got a much better sense of humor than he did in his pre-recovery days. Such a cool, real, smart, talented, HOT guy, even still.
WTF? Looks darn great for 52, has good head of hair
best revenge really! :)
He is bloody lush 😍
Reading Andy Taylor's "Wild Boy" book right now and I'm mid-way [Very awesome autobiography so far!]. Next up will be John Taylor's "In The Pleasure Groove"...
Andy Taylors is the better book, felt like John held back on some parts. Still a good read though especially for a Midlands lad like me
@@cheville2001 I read both books. While John's book was more candid and discreet in same way, he opened up in a lot of topics. Great guy and band
This man is a pure legend

Bass licks on View To A Kill...Coachella with full orchestra
I LOATHED Duran Duran with a passion. I've grown up since
Listening and watching John in this video has given me a change of opinion of him. He is not only HOT but is interesting to listen to. I thought he would still be out with different women etc but it is great he has settled down.
I got so happy when he came omf
He came on stage so humble and shy, being the great star he was and still is. He is pure class.
he'd make the perfect bond if only he didnt smile as much as he does!
love him!
John ❤️ or Nigel I love him! And yay he came to Arizona :)
Loved the book. A great insight into the workings of DD. Feel slightly guilty though having been a massive fan, thinking that I may have played a part (all be it small) in John's addictions.
John is so adorable..my favorite forever
Oh, I must disagree. I play bass and a study of "Rio", for example, is a discovery in lofty chromatic ascents and root-5 motion. I know of few pop bassists whom I would categorise as so capable of such dense syncopation and precise articulation.
Huh?!
@ MASTERUDY SENSE - What are you talking about? If you'd actually heard their first album you'd appreciate what everyone else is referring to. His playing is superb...if you understand music at all that is?
W i duran duran.....w John Taylor 💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋
What a charmer? :o) Thanks for this clip.
Catholaholic.. instant classic word-ism! :)
totally agree with you all someone has to do is listen to Power Stations 'Living in Fear' cd and say he wasn't a good player. For me Andy and John were DD.
That was Bernard Edwards on bass.
How the fuck does he look so good?
Genes, boyish looks and access to therapy supplements that are way beyond our financial means. (And hair replacement- money again!)
Stiffd1 you mad bro?

Amazing
You must be joking, ever since John Taylor worked with Nile Rodgers his bass playing has been spot on. =1986 voted best bassest.
YdFQqlvde8U (even Nile was proud of JT)
What was wrong with it before (he met Nile Rodgers)?
Well said John!
How can he tear up fan mail??? People pay good money and put in effort to write
Carol Vorderman is gorgeus :-)
Ive read his book and its just fantastic! he doesnt mention sex that much.

No he doesn't.
I love John❤️❤️❤️
I say this a lot about Brit rock stars but..."he's lovely!"
❤

Honest to god, I truly thought I was going to watch a video of John Taylor visiting some loose women. Damn.
He’s so cute!!
I would love to go there..
Great book! I need to revise my Duran Duran bio.!
Congrats on your sobriety!
I LOVED his name Nigel!
Stacey McGrath you write the same comment over and over again on this video. Creeps..
What are yo saying?????? I have to think you never listened him playing the bass
Revelation!!
very nice
Love him! Can't wait to read the book. :D
Is it wrong that I want to run my hands through his hair? xD
Guys comment here about his bass, ladies comment about his manhood.
living
SHERRIE WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU????? YOU WOULD LOVE THIS.. I MISS YOU EVERY DAY! NOT ONE DAY GOES BY I DON'T THINK OF YOU. SUCH AWESOME MEMORIES HERE WITH JOHN.
I just finished reading his book. He was mean and left out Andy Taylor at the end in the Acknowledgements section.
Andy Taylor was not liked by anyone in the band and John was just following the golden rule, "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything". The fact he left Andy out, when he could have blasted him, means John acted as any gentleman should.

Thanks for that Damian. Never heard that.
"View to a Kill" is a Duran/Duran Bond video. =Been there done that.
John Taylor is still the shit ❤
John is so gracious and friendly! The women,
however, strike me is kind of rude to be honest.😠
They're not being rude, just bantering with him.
