I think that the chestplates contain disproportionately large amounts of raw awesomeness (rawesomeness?). That would explain how getting a new chest makes them stronger
In case you still want to know: equippable helmets were a thing in this series, likely for better protection. The Guard Team's initial three members have helmets(one can assume Guard Wing is in permanent helmeted mode), whereas Fighbird and Granbird have chestplate-and-helmet combos. It even shows in Fighbird's and Granbird's combination, where the entire upper body of Granbird becomes a similar chestpiece-and-helmet combo, albeit with arms and boots added.
The flip-up helmets were basically just, well, helmets in the series. They literally would just yell " 'met on!" If I recall in the show, just for combat I believe. Thanks for the review, by the way! Never thought I'd see a review for these guys.
In fighbird, Most of the robots have an addon that gives them a new helmet. Fighbird and Granbird get new Chest plates and a helmet plus some shoulder mounted weapons. the guardian team has the same sort of gimmick.
They remind me a lot of the Super God Masterforce GuardStar = Shūta Gō GuardRescue = Minerva GuardFire = Cab GuardWing In vehicle mode = Matalhawk GuardWing in robot mode = Godbomber Guardian = Super Ginrai Super Guardian = God Ginrai
Well, as with other Brave series, the vehicles have a drone or piloted mode, and another mode where somethign attaches and they gain their individual robot personalities... Think, Brave Exkaiser... but yeah, the "Hats" must be something along the lines of switching between a drone/piloted mode and sentient robot mode.
@Chutultu you make a good point there and Super Guardian is most likely how they would have looked if G1 Prowl, Ratchet, Inferno and Powerglide/Skyfire could combine into one awesome super fighting robot to counter Devestator early on.
@nascarguruinks I believe the Rodimus design was not used for this firetruck but for "Duke Fire" from the 5th Brave Series "Brave Police J-Decker". You can even clip his chest component into Star Convoy.
OK. The official toy line lasted till about 1998, but GaoGaiGar continued to 2005, due to the FINAL OVA and the Grand Glorious Gathering TV show. The helmets looked like standard power ups to me, which G1 Transformers never used and yet disassemble/reassemble robots are very common in Yuusha (Brave) and in Eldran too, which is now pratically Yuusha (I like to think so) after the Takara-Tomy merger. Some of these teams were re-released but as cheap knock off toys through the years.
Wow, I regret throwing all those toys away now :( I'm an only child, so my mom and dad bought me anything I ever wanted. And all the brave series aired from exkaiser to gaogaigar while I was growing up in Korea and everytime TV aired the new series my mom and dad bought me ALL the robots from that brave series. And back then, a brave robot costs were all the same. Equivalent to 35 dollars USD. If these things go for a lot on Ebay and I still had em i would've been rich
Yeah, SonoKong tends to have sucky stickers. I think the adhesive they use doesn't last as long as some of Takara's Braves or something. Had the same issue with buying some older Sonokong B-Daman a while back. I used a little rubber cement to get the decals on.
I bought this guy complete off ebay today for £47 with free shipping I can't wait to get these guys they are awesome. Spader they use those heads in the show
Since they are similar to headmasters, I'd say the resemble the Headmaster Juniors from Supergod Masterforce who were also a emergency vehicle trio of police car, ambulance and fire truck
I had to original Takara version back in 2002. Wish I never sold it. Tey were easy to get because everyone was into Beast Wars/RID/CarRobots. These were known as strange bricks. I would buy the Takara versions because true collectors knew the differences and would pay 3 times the price I paid. I had a knock off of Da-Garn X and Lion-Oh that were of very high quality. The major difference was the color of Da Garn's head in combined mode, and Lion-Oh not having any electronics.
I have a version of this. It's a knock-off, and the guardian robot is all one figure, but the jet is a separate vehicle and has no robot mode. It still attaches to the big figure, though, and looks pretty decent for what it is. What can I say, I like the chutzpah some knock-offs and bootlegs display.
8:41 reminds me of how the main combined robot from tomica hero: rescue fire looks just before the final piece comes in to complete the transformation.
to answer how it makes it more powerful and be warned im taking this explanation from gun x sword but combiners gain more power armor and weapons from each combined the unit power is gained from each reactor armor from just another to take thing that can take hits and any available weapons are added on to the unit
at bbts, when you type in super guardian, only one thing pops up. Is that the item you bought? If not, would it be posible for you to find the actual one?
dude super sentai aka power rangers wer tooo easy. i had the mystic force guy and the bird dude was the easiest flip the feet out turn the wings and its the robot dude
Really really cool, i must say. And Guardfire's combiner transformation is the most unique i've seen, ever.

the little black block things is what the 4 robots used for their like a mode called "met on". it basically improves their accuracy in their weapons
The special "heads" are actually power-ups for all the characters.
In fighbird, Most of the robots have an addon that gives them a new helmet.

Combinner wars pretty much did that
Japan does love their transforming/combining giant robots (which other countries picked up/copied)
Just like Japan picked up / copied early China's ideas and methods, what's your point?
wow, dude i did not expect those tranformartion... great vids dude
these guys are actually really cool looking.

My mom and dad at some point told me to grow out of it. I remember crying while I was putting my thunder baron in the trash bag :(
Yea see these are the kinds of toys where i say; "Fuck combiner mode"
"Single robots are epic alone" :D
Wow, I regret throwing all those toys away now :( I'm an only child, so my mom and dad bought me anything I ever wanted. Why oh why did i sell all my braves oh and keep up the great work
Prowl, Ratchet, Inferno. That's exactly what I was gonna say.
I bought this guy complete off ebay today for £47 with free shipping I can't wait to get these guys they are awesome. Spader they use those heads in the show
Wow, seeing how Guard Fire transforms...I kinda want that now, lol.
Since they are similar to headmasters, I'd say the resemble the Headmaster Juniors from Supergod Masterforce who were also a emergency vehicle trio of police car, ambulance and fire truck
i love these robots, they r reely asom, i probably gonna get it
Someone has to be coming to this video thanks to that one meme from Fighbird that went out of control
I am not one of those types
hehe gaurd rescue reminds me an awful lot of Energon Infeno, hehe awsome review!
"Oh looks giant robot head!" :D

@TwizTransformerz The Brave Series are kinda like Transformers. But to answer you question: no, they are unrelated to TF (except both are by Takara).
In the show they say "met on!" And their helmet comes on. Search RUclips: Guardion if you haven't already.
The helmets are, from my understanding, battle helmets but what do I know I haven't seen the show >.>
As a kid in the 90's I've had a chinese knock-off Guardfire. Non of these features was presented.
just click you heels together three time and say "there's not place like the shelf" wait i mean home.
Those helmets are for battle mode, but I don't think there are big boxes behind their neck in the show
The Rescue Megazord from Turbo was almost certainly inspired by this.
RondoOfBloodX m’hm
Star Saber's siblings LOL

8:41 reminds me of how the main combined robot from tomica hero: rescue fire looks just before the final piece comes in to complete the transformation.
the hats kinda make thier tiny heads seem more in scale
Do more Brave Reviews Spader Please. I want this set
the gun looks like Rodims prime gun
is it me or are the guardian and super gurdian heads some what prime-esque
even though the super guardian has a ninja helmet
to answer how it makes it more powerful and be warned im taking this explanation from gun x sword but combiners gain more power armor and weapons from each combined the unit power is gained from each reactor armor from just another to take thing that can take hits and any available weapons are added on to the unit
Cargo mode like a bunch of other Japanese robots
splits apart
and forms...
... Shoes

im nto sure if any one knows what im talking about, but fire, rescue and star remind me of lightning fire tamer, wind rescue, and siren blaster
with the shoes
its odd that at 5:12 he says his never seen the show then at 15:36 he clearly says according 2 the box and according 2 what "I C ON THE SHOW"
nice review 5/5
@Chutultu nah i was thinking the 3 more resemble part of the defensor team
The series is to insure you get your daily dose of Fighbird.

who? how about Nightbeat, Fixit and Hosehead?
No one saw the eyes on the police car windshield
Try listening.
the helmets give them a power bust i think
this why they have to combine..or otherwise they're useless in a fight
at bbts, when you type in super guardian, only one thing pops up. Is that the item you bought? If not, would it be posible for you to find the actual one?
