Super Mario Land 2 was the last original Mario game (not counting the New Super Mario Bros. games)...until Nintendo announced Wonder.
Nonetheless, these are still good games.
Personally, I don't like the playing mechanics on the 2D Mario games that came after Super Mario 64. That "new mechanics" works great for all 3D Mario Games, but for me it's a big no for 2D games. One thing that makes SMW a timeless masterpiece is it's playing mechanics and precise controls, not even DKC or Yoshi's Island came close.

Also what's the issue with SM64 movements in 2D as long as they're well implemented? Donkey Kong '94 has some of them already in it
@@ikagura Dude, I bet I played the hell out of DKC, SMW, SMB2 and most SNES platforms than most people. And, seriously, who the hell are you to infer on what I have or haven't played enough?
Sm64 is radically different from previous Super Mario games not only because it is on a 3D environment but because it needed extra movements for fully explore the new environment. But I wasn't speaking of those mechanics in 3D MARIO games but the new mechanics, like grappling on walls and crouch jumping, ana new character animation that are present on all new 2D MARIO games that came after SM64. And yes, they have few I common with the original Mario games, being Super Mario Land 2 the last of them.
And by the way, I've mentioned DKC not for it's playing mechanics or anything related but because it hasn't aged as well as SMW, just like Yoshi's Island hasn't too. Do you prefer DKC over SMW and think that some of the movements in SM64 was already implemented on it? Fine, but it has nothing to do with the fact that SMW is still considered a timeless gameplay and replayability masterpiece.

3D Land technically comes after Galaxy 2.
3D Land and World are their own sub series.
mitico, todos ellos, no puedo negar el impacto de verlo cuando era pequeño en la nes de 8bits, y luego fliparlo en la snes, para al final trabajar todo el verano y comprarme una N64 con el mario64 y pasarme noches jugando en vez de estudiando o durmiendo, luego ya al ser mas mayor, los de gamecube o los galaxy, me gustaron mucho, pero nada como la sensación de cuando eres niño, adolescente y JASP (joven aunque sobradamente preparado), leugo la madurez te da otro prisma, y quizás ya todas las emociones y virtudes del mario , lo haces con unos ojos mas críticos, aún así, es la unica franquicia que puedo decir , que me ha visto crecer, y viceversa , soy mas de mario que de Zelda.

Jajaja muchas gracias, ya te extrañaba. Yo no fui tanto de Mario. De hecho creo que no jugué a ninguno hasta la SNES con el Super Mario World. Recuerdo perfectamente el día que mi padre la sintonizó en la tele de mi habitación y probé por primera vez ese juego, que gráficamente era mucho menos vistoso que cualquier Sonic, pero que me enganchó como ningún otro. Muchos años después aún jugaba al SMW con un colega cada tarde cuando volvía de la universidad, tratando de conseguir los 96 mundos, y tiempo después con mi mujer. Buahhhh, ahora creo que lloraré yo.

How to download New Super Mario land wii?
The SNES game looks and sounds terrible.
Now I don't know what SNES games you been looking at to think this looks bad, since this looks like a quality DS game rather than snes!
The sound engine is a smidge off, and muffled in voices, but it's certainly passable :)
