Filming drone shots is easily one of my favorite things to do. Creating cinematic footage using the drone is even better. In this video I will give you a few tips to help set up your drone, shoot really cool shots, and give you tools to help make your footage look cinematic! Color grading with LUTs makes everything easier, and I have designed a few LUTs specifically for the DLOG footage that you can get from the Mavic 2 Pro or other Prosumer drones.

If I bought the mavic 2 pro I would imagine that I would exclusively video at sundries/sunset and magic hours. Would the polar pro PL have any effect on glare in the scene and wouldn’t it also hinder me to use the lowest ISO and the filter will also cut out a certain amount of stops of light dependant on whic PL is used?
If you’re filming in darker settings, you may not need the filter on. During bright scenes and even semi bright scenes, it’s too bright to get the shutter speed where it needs to be. Without the filter, my shutter speed was always too high and I would get that choppy footage that comes with fast shutter speeds.
As far as knocking down glare.. since the filter is polarized, it reduces the glare that is reflective. So off of metal buildings or water surface. Which just makes for really nice images flying over water. But it won’t reduce lens flare or anything good like that, because it brings brightness down overall. So if you’re exposed correctly, and catch some lens flare it still looks really nice.
Bo Gaines Thanks Bo, great vid and you have good energy as a person 🙏🏻 I’m a snob when it comes to landscape photography so after the sun has gone beyond magic hour I loose interest in filming/photo. PL obviously needed in daylight to maintain a 180 shutter. Thanks

The 1st drone clip was not cinematic . You did the hue too much. Next time you should make sure you don't force the hue on the blues too much.
