Hearing that Jordan's parents considered him their "miracle baby" since they believed they would never be able to have children due to a procedure his mother had that removed part of her uterus, BROKE my heart. No parent should ever have to bury their child especially under these senseless and unconscionable circumstances. However that provided extra context, literally brought tears to my eyes.

The fiancé being called back in after his “they had a weapon and I told her that repeatedly over the next 30 hrs” testimony and her telling the truth about what really happened- that he never mentioned any kind of weapon or stick, sealed the deal. Kudos to her for telling the truth. She finally saw him for what he was and from what I understand, stopped communicating with him after the trial.

Jordan had been brought up to think white men were prey.but he confused the old stick in the muds with the younger ones from the suburbs whom like that crap noise and bow down to black aggression. . If the Jordan's of the world had learned that he would learn to fear them not tease them. There's older white men like Dunn on every block. That was beautifully presented with intense passion in the narrator’s voice. Thank you for covering this case. Every ethnic group, especially teenagers and young adults, has its own way of celebrating life with friends. We might not like it and there are ways to address that, respectfully. In this case, there was no need to even address anything since it was a parking lot. The rational and humane action would be to drive away and complain in the privacy of your vehicle. We were all teenagers at some point and we definitely grow out of that phase of loud music. Our hearing becomes more sensitive to sounds as we grow. To kill another human being because of personal icebergs or down right insecurities, racism, or whatever isms you’re struggling with, that certainly make you an American reject and a monster. Listen, there has been plenty of times in which my husband had to go outside and ask young kids to turn down the volume of their radio, because I had a severe migraine, and they did. Once they did, my husband shook hands, thanked them, and came back inside our home.
In fact, this situation happened a year ago; I had been suffering with a migraine, from hell, for 2 days, and every single noise, light source, and smells made the migraine worse, so my husband had to go to the store to get me some earplugs and a sleep mask. While he was at the store, a group of teens had pulled up in front of our house, and they had the music blaring, and their subwoofer was on full blast. I could literally feel the bass in my chest. I went outside, walked up to their car, and one of them noticed that I had walked up to the car. The passenger rolled down their window and asked what was up, and through tears, I begged them to please turn down the volume, because I had a migraine from hell. The driver looked at me and saw that I was in some extreme pain, so he said that he understood what I was going through, because his own mother suffered from migraines. He turned down the volume, apologized for the loud music, but I told him that there was no need to apologize, and I thanked them for being so kind, then I had gone back into our home.
Now, we've seen the same group of young men off and on throughout the year, but they make sure to turn down the volume. Every single time that my husband and myself see this group of young men, we stop and talk with them a bit.
What I'm trying to say is that IF you ask nicely for someone to turn down the music, let them know why you're asking them to turn down the music. Most likely than not, they're going to understand. Michael Dunn exerted toughness, with a big bad attitude, and all that's going to do is piss someone off. Those young men were NOT bothering anyone, AND they were on private property, the gas station/convenience store, so they could play their music on full blast.

Ok that sounds awesome however you are mistaken. I'm glad you have had those positive experiences but when dealing with teens/young people, especially if they have been drinking or indulging in other substances then they often do not take kindly to being asked to turn down their noise no matter how polite and friendly the person asking is!! I despise confrontations and will do pretty much anything to avoid them. I have suffered insomnia on and off throughout my life as well as migraines and played "single mom" to 4 kids more often than not due to my husband being constantly deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan as special ops with the Air Force. Throughout the years we have at times lived in close quarters to other homes due to military housing and you learn to deal with the noise but on occasion it would become unbearable especially when already dealing with stressful (or painful) issues. Over 20 years time the few times that we have finally broke down and asked for the music to be turned down so our kids could sleep or when I just could not take another minute if it and knowing that you catch far more flies with honey would always approach it in a kind manner and have never had the opposing party not get pissed nor willingly turn it down or any reasonable compromise...and they were never nice. The one time I remember some teens next door agreeing to turn it down (but with nasty attitude) they did actually turn it down....only to turn it up even louder as soon as we made it back into our own house.
Now I intentionally live somewhere where it's no worry!🙂

She was simply covering her own ass. Even after being aware that be had murdered a child she did not at any point call 911 and report him. She told him she just wanted to go home even though she was aware he killed the kid.

My mom had a neighbor in a 55+ community who at first was seemingly cool with her, but one summer she had me watch the house for her when she was out of town. I guess I put the trash bins in the wrong place and he like filed a complaint w the board or whatever, no big deal. My mom gets back into town and she says how her neighbor was being openly hostile to her, spitting in her direction, flipping her off etc. And when i visited, id notice that too, and that he'd always be lurking around, the border of our properties, just being weird.
So the next summer, my mom goes out of town, I watch the house for her. By now, this guy is *always* outside whenever I leave the house, cusses me out (i literally never said a word to the guy ever, never had any friends over either id socialize at *my* house about 45 minutes away) and he's cussing me out, egging me on to fight him. I brush him off as im 6'9 and was in my mid twenties at the time and he was about 5'5-5'7 and clearly over 55. Next thing you know this guy was peering into my car parked on the street, blatantly tresspassing in our yard, always slinking away when we'd yell at him in the act.
Thank god my mom moved shortly after that, and fuck that guy. Some people just get themselves so worked up over nothing like the narrators neighbor and this dunn pos and the hillbillys that shot a dude in the head for putting a mattress in his own driveway i can't understand that vile level of pettiness

But there's a kind of gun owner out there, the "I wish someone would try something against me" types like Dunn, who just have a thirst for violence. I'm all for strict gun control, but I realize it isn't so simple in a country where the gun is a symbol of independence and self-reliance. There are tons of responsible gun owners out there. The problem is the people who own guns as a power fantasy. The biggest problem is that it can be hard to tell who those people are until it's too late.

If he hated that "thug music" so much, there were other places he could've parked. In fact, he could've went to a different gas station. No, he wanted a reason to use his gun. Unfortunately for these young man, he thought he could claim self defense easily because they were black teenagers and would be angst if a middle-aged, white man told them to turn off their music. The more he antagonized the young men, the more he believed he'd have credibility in shooting them.
