I got to take my hat off to the animation department; it just oozes personality and expressiveness. The Jason knockoffs that flew up and down by flapping their arms almost made me cackle.
Heh, I think that even back when this was first released this probably was already a nasty stereotype. It seems almost to be from Police Academy or a similar movie.
First level I thought it was similar to Sunset Riders, 2nd became Metal Slug, 3rd Bad Dudes. Presentation in Gunsmoke style... wow really many references!
this game has a great sense of humor like the cheerleaders in stage 4 covering their face but they let out a manly grunt and you can see chest hair when you kill them
I think the similarity in art style is coincidental - I looked through the artist credits on Mobygames and couldn't find any crossover: www.mobygames.com/game/arcade/charlie-ninja
Wow! I never knew that ninja game was a cultural mix-up of all the film genres. And it was also made in Japan! And that music kinda sounds like it was on a 90s computer! Cool!
The first stage has a cowboy boss. And all the enemies are cowboys and Indians. The second stage has a boss soldier. And all the enemies are soldiers. The third stage... promised to be the most awesome in the game, but make disappointed. 😁
The quality of the audio in this game is quite poor compared to other arcade titles from the same era. Not sure if it's the hardware used, or just the quality of the samples.
Ignore the RUclips game info - it's wrong. Charlie Ninja doesn't exist in its database, so it chose what it thought was the closest match (which is plain wrong) :)
What an awesome looking platformer. Didn't even know this game existed. Reminds me a lot of Spinmaster on the Neo Geo.
Looks like a Garfield extended universe side story.

The music sounds like they took themes from a dozen westerns and old ballads and mixed them to get new songs.
10:44 Undeniably the most sassy level boss I've ever seen in an arcade game! 😂👍👍
Vendeta e street of rage 3

At last! I found this childhood memory. The only thing I remember is "it is some cowboy-like game" and the stage 1 theme music.. 🥺😭 Thank youuu!!
What a strange clash of graphical styles. It's like they had one guy do the backgrounds and another guy do the sprites.
Pretty sure that Konami released a not-dissimilar game to this (the first level).
Sunset Riders and Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa come to mind for sure.
The face of The ninja seems similar to The Garfield cartoons
Hey, this arcade game looks cool 😺👍🕹️.
It's like watching some old cartoon shows.
😺👍

I'm not sure, but I think this game was prior to Metal Slug.

Quite an odd arcade game. It looks very fun.
It's by Mitchell who did Pang 🙂
Lol the boss of the first level sounds like he said “Put’em up fucker!” Lmao! I spit my drink out I laughed so hard! 😂😂
Quite similar to the Neo Geo game Spin Master, I wonder if some of the same people worked on both games.

This looks like one mad game here, would love to give it a go, nice!👍🏻
The parrot character was previously seen in 1993's vertical shmup game Double-Wings.
That biker was literally flaming. Awesome.
Does the art style of this game remind anyone of Pizza tower?
4:46 I like this Rambo
Where was this game all our life? I would have played the 16 Bit out of this game if was on the Genesis or SNES.
Playing this a few days ago quite fun
This looks like something straight out of Seth Putnam head
This game looks cool
What a gem!
Nice run.
Since you’re running Mitchell games, can you do a play of Osman/Cannon Dancer?
Hidden Gem !
Hope hamster brings this game to consoles thanks for vid I want this on switch
Did Jim Davis do the art for this game? Charlie Ninja looks like he could be Jon Arbuckle's son

=HEHEHEHE
The last boss is mad scientist Rick!
Funny game🤣
Look like wacky version of Ghosts n Goblins
Porque me hace recordar a Garfield?
This game is awesome, they could put on the Nintendo switch E-shop. Oh that's right they won't 😔
Weird game, but, the animation is really nice.
nice video .
Stage 2 looks like Metal Slug
Sounds Like Amiga Mod Music... ;-)
