"What tf is she doing with that octopus?" Oh, Nik, please don't make me explain that to you.
lolz XD
When a women and a daddy octopus loves eachother very very much....
@jonatanmarklund7473
I was going to say when an Anime Waifu loves herself very much she...
Mooom! Japan's being weird again~
@@Werewolf914
Also very true!!
When he said "BREEEE BROOOOO" I felt that.
Real
Very deep lyrics right there bro
Darko US: Metal on acid.
Deviloof: Darko US on bath salts.
Le brie is a french cheese
Bro I accidentally saw these guys live at Antiknock in Tokyo back in March and it was easily the wildest shit I've ever heard at a live concert. Scarred for life.
Antiknock is a sick venue at least! I saw Varials with C-GATE and Sailing Before the Wind there back in 2023
Is Paleneo band there?
"accidentally" like, how?
"Omg I accidentally hit play again" 💀
Omg
That's PURE reaction fs
He never said that
Definitely sharing this treasure with friends!
Nah, share Intestine Baalism instead.
They're actually a metal band from japan.
Everything from the visuals to the sound is extremely DIr En Grey influenced.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed!
They definitely laid ground work, I feel like we should be able to move past stereotypes to appeal to western markets but anything that makes more metal happen moves into my sphere, pretty much automatically
Its a combination of Zan & Obscure the original versions however Diru have reworked & re recorded most of their songs sounds sic though 🤘🏻
Pretty sure a member of dir en grey directed the video.
💯 took me back to when I first discovered Visual Key years ago. the Gazette is still my favorite band to this day since then.
everyday we getting close to Nik discovering Utsu-p 🙏
I COMMENTED THAT EARLIER TODAY LMAOOO
YES PLEASE!!! 🙏
It's a ped0 weebo band dude
It’s just Dir En Grey but even heavier.
Hell yeah. That’s what I wanted out of Japanese metal.
Was gonna more or less say this. Bro Nik dont know Dir En Grey??? I know he knows Jiluka cuz thats who i think is modern Dir En Grey. But damn this band heaaaaavvvvyyyy
Don’t forget Nocturnal Bloodlust 🤘🏻
@@SaruKishin Back when Nik used to play Guitar (lol) he did some DeG licks in a compliation. Dude knows em.
@@SaruKishin Dir en grey is modern Dir en grey. Dir en grey has always made their own style of music. They're not a metalcore or deathcore band even if Kyo is the GOAT of harsh vocals.
They're not riding the waves Nik is on so that's probably why he hasn't noticed them.
@@SaruKishin
Nik doesn't listen to metal.
Deviloof, Dexcore, Broken by the Scream, Victim of Deception, and Nocturnal Bloodlust are some of my favorites. Go check them out!
These are also my favorite.. nice section!
You have great taste. I'm always trying to get people to react to Japanese metal, but I've not been very successful.
Never heard Broken by the Scream though, that's new to me, so thanks.
NGL when i saw replies to my comment i immediately assumed someone was arguing or telling me they suck. lol Im genuinely happy that you guys had nice things to say haha. Thank you and I hope yall enjoy!
I also agree, more Japanese metal reactions plz!!
@guyinapandasuit2691 you are more than welcome, I think your music choice is absolutely awesome! Hope you have a amazing day!
I'm so happy 🤌🤌🤌
Visually this is very, very Dir En Grey influenced. Love they got Tadanobu Asano to be in it. Sound-wise they're definitely influenced by Diru's more current sound but with less melody and more death core screams and stutter chugs, which is cool. Diru still leads the way but it's nice to hear Jmetal or Visual Kei bands that put a spin on that influence.
I've been listening to them for a while now. I've heard more and more people react to them since this song and I'm so glad they're finally getting the recognition they deserve !
Kaika probably my favorite by them and Sloth
@@DecimatedSoulabsolutely love Gouzinzangoku
@@shura_screams lol the one where he says MF like 20 times and sounds like Payback by Atilla?
@@DecimatedSoul never listened to attila. The opening track to their 2019 album 鬼
Very much modern Dir En Grey. When I was 14 I had only heard things along the lines of Asking Alexandria, Miss May I, Of Mice and Men, ect. I walked into a music store one time and told the dude I wanted to learn about more metal music. He handed me a copy of Dir En Grey Uroboros. This brings me back to that. Love this so much.
You have to react more to the OGs, Dir en grey. All these visual kei metal bands starting from the early 2000s are influenced by them. Sadie, 12012, Deviloof, Grieva, etc.
The only thing with Dir en grey is they make so many different kinds of music that you could listen to 5 different songs that sound like they were made by 5 different bands. Some songs are not even metal, which might make them hard to get into for metalheads who only want metal.
Intestine Baalism and Sigh are so clear lmao.
The Japanese just go over the top with their music in general and I love it
the guy from Shogun!
You haven't experienced Visual Kei until you've experienced Dir En Grey tho.
Queddeahet joins to the chat
Holy shit they got Tadanobu Asano.. motherfucking Kakihara from Ichi the Killer in their video. Awesome
Thank you! I was wondering who was that guy. Ichi The Killer FTW!
I was gonna say Kashigi Yabushige from Shogun, but yeah I recognized him immediately.
Man, someone needs to put Dir en Grey's Eddie in front of Nik
Idek how Deviloof pushed onto my feed but there were no regrets. Visual kei deathcore was something I never knew we needed yet here we are
J-Metal! 🤘 ♥️NIPPON!
Deviloof? Bro I love these guys. Glad you enjoy them, they’re so good. You should also try Nocturnal Bloodlust. 🙌🏽🤘🏽
Producer: How unhinged do you want this to sound?
Deviloof: Yes.
Get these guys on the show!!!
This song reminds me of Burn Victim by Methwitch. Just insane vocals and complete chaos
They are always delivering
I got into a lot more Japanese rock and metal when I was in my second year of the music program I was doing in college and the first group I got into was X Japan and I fell in love with them, those guys are absolutely awesome and I also learned their song Endless Rain for my guitar lesson that year and that was a lot of fun (That solo is fucking incredible and is like a combination of David Gilmour-style melodicism mixed with Iron Maiden harmonies and it’s awesome), so I recommend checking out that song as well as their other tracks Kurenai, Art of Life (which is a straight-up 30 minute epic with a ten minute piano solo in the middle, which is played by their drummer), I.V., Week End, Dahlia and Rusty Nail just to name a few from them. Aside from that I got into some other all-female bands like Roselia and Raise A Suilen (which is more electronic rock but still really cool) and then Galneryus is badass as well
If you like RAS and Roselia, definitely check out Ave Mujica. Probably the closest thing to metal we'll ever see in Bandori
@ I did eventually learn they were from that anime Band Dream (which was a pretty good series) but I didn’t know about that at the time but I’ll check that one out, thanks for the suggestion
@@andrewpappas9311 Totally recommend. They're kind of a gothic metal band and the irl band for them has lots of talent too. Great vocals, international award winning keyboardist, and pro drummer. The anime is dark as hell as well. It almost feels like some psychological horror movie of some kind
@@firelynx1108 Cool, thanks
Ive been waiting for this reaction!!!, Deviloof went insane with this song
I mean this sounds like a classic grind gore that has been around since 90s, weird that Nick has never heard any before.
i’d like to know other grind core that sounds like this.
Name a band pls
It sounds like deathcore with some influence from Dir en grey.
Hey clown!
It sounds nothing like Impetigo, early Carcass, Repulsion or Pathologist.
If ya like wild vocals put on Circle of Dead Children - Human Harvest 🤘
Dir en grey is next lets go, people are catching up to what is really peak 🤌🤌
Oh, man. Thanks for turning me on to Deviloop. So cool!
This reminds me sooo much of dir en grey that brings back so many memories...
Could not be more proud to be here less than a half hour from a Nik Nocturnal upload
💯
Welcome to the world of J Metal. It gets crazier.
DEVILOOF MENTIONED LETS GO BOYS⚠⚠⚠
Best Japanese metal band is Dir en grey and by extension every project their vocalist Kyo is involved in (Petit Brabancon, Sukekiyo). Guy has arguably the widest range in music and has many techniques only he can do.
When I saw the film clip, I genuinely hoped that you would find and react to it.
Ooh man. Even though I've yet to fully dive into the full trenches of Japanese metal, I've listened to my fair copious share of Japanese rock and visual kei (v-kei) and now I really look forward to this.
Feels like it took some inspiration form Obscure by Dir en Grey
yup they were clearly inspired by Dir en grey, if you know you know right
I think the guy who directed this video is the same who directed Obscure
Same director as I heard.
This song was pretty good they always bring the good stuff great reaction as always keep up the awesome work
I want some more dexcore. Heard the songs self hatred and paramesia and I was hooked. This deviloof was nasty af though
I LOVE DEVILOOF!!!
Me too, ONI is one of my favorites. But this new single is actually insanely good, I love it
You should listen to Dir en grey - Different sense, it's an older song but dude... just do it.
From the opening of the song it sounds like the cursed version of for whom the bell tolls
Deviloof being freaks again but I enjoy the music. It's always a wild ass time
Deviloof is so good! I love them
This is easily just Dir En Grey. It’s wonderful, nonetheless.
Please check out Takayoshi Ohmura; as a guitarist he will freak you out. The guy is legendary.
Some might say he is a "Kami".
For some reason I feel goosebumps when I watched that PV for the first time. Not as terrifying as Obscure - Dir en grey PV but it's successfully fills the nightmare fuel into me.
I like this more than "Obscure" never liked Dir en anyways. Never liked his persona, never take this personal it's just an acquired taste in music.
@@christopherjohnferrer3771 I feel like Kyo has a lot of personas. I grew up with DEG and it took around 10 years for me to feel like I actually got it. So I can see why they would be hard to get into. But I think deep dives are worth it if never tried.
@@acherontiaatropos6048 Don't get me wrong I appreciate some Dir en works, its just that I don't like the vibes of their music, it doesn't give me chills or wow factor. Besides I'm more on modern Visual Kei that has some western tone influence that's all.
Never thought I'd come across this random video. Thanks, Nik
Read the title and was like nah it isn't insane it's fantastic!
I love this band. His vocal range is just insane their vids are awesome.
This was badass to watch! 💜
That's the general from "Shogun". The one that captured the English in the beginning :O
a chip off the dir en grey block
Right! Definitely inspired by Obscure
@@sakidickersonRight? From the opening; oh this is Obscure haha
Don’t forget Zan alongside Obscure
@@Dr0nionthe same director btw
That is THE most absurd thing I will watch all week (all year)
5:56 Jumpscare Breakdown 😂
We need a one take of this vocals
Synestia droppped a new single called Dies Irae'' with their new singer, when will you check it out ? Love from germany and drop some new Vinyls for the Soul elegy album
Gonna have this on repeat while working tomorrow
Nik should react to some Dir En Grey, the og's. Different sense would be nice 😂
Yeah Different Sense might appeal to his taste. At the very least that one has shock value for a video.
@@acherontiaatropos6048 Man kyo's such an incredible vocalist as well.. would like to see a live reaction in general.
Yeah the opening riff sounded like some dimmu borgir that one song council of wolves or something
definitely seen their name thrown around as i've been immersing myself in Hanabie. this last week or so and other japanese bands definitely get discussed on reddit and in the comments.
Feel like I just went thru a really scary haunted house
A lot of the vibe feels a bit like MergingMoon when they first started getting big. I dig it, it's pretty wild stuff.
Definitely a new band I have to get used to, but that's crazy and I will love to listen to it, thank you Nik!
Nik Looks the Same I did 20 years ago discovering Dir en Grey
Holy crap I'm here early this time, nice timing! Haha
So glad you came across this song and video. I feel like Dir En Grey just found their new form in this band 😂 my wife and I loved this 🤘🖤🤘
Japan has really awesome bands in almost every genre. Whenever I get the chance to go to Japan I’ll make it a point to catch some random local bands. Best bit in Tokyo they have this bar that is horror and metal themed called deathmatch from hell.
They got that fire Japanese actor in the clip too. I forget his name but he in tonnes of great films
Tadanobu Asano(Shogun, Thor, Mortal Kombat, Ichi the Killer etc.)
Dir en Gray, Deviloof and JILUKA is on another level!
BRO everytime I miss a stream I miss the coolest bands I thought noone listened to lol
Ok wtf! added to my playlist
Sharing this to my non metalhead friends! Great way to introduce them into the genre!
If Takashi Miike has an extreme metal band
Maximum the hormone is always my go to. I also like fear and loathing in las vegas and imperial circus dead decadence.
Well FALILV has a new MV.
Vocalist once said Daniel filth was his hero and inspiration.
I know he's said this of Kyo of Dir en grey. Kyo has a similarly high scream. The high scream of all 3 sounds pretty different though, perhaps different techniques trying to get the same place.
Being inspired by that poseur is a big L
@ You sound like 12.
Hey nik big respect from Kazakhstan
Gonna tell my kids “this is Whitechappel”
I think thevolder guy was from Shogun. Need to finish the last few episodes.
1:58 I get hit with a commercial for Canadian Milk ????
Nobody is sleeping tonight!
Maybe octopus story alone is
Octopus goes through mazes mwybe even the bottom of the ocean too
Maybe super power octopus man
Maybe monster octopus 🐙 🦑 goes through brain heart soul life relationships too
And them appearing at random times and places
Worse than deep in and at the bottom of the ocean too
Maybe*
if you like this I strongly recommend to you to check "Imperial Circus Dead Decadence" they are one of my favourites.
ICDD is not slammy as this but vocals and melodies are sick
ICDD FAN SPOTTED, They are my favourite too, especially Pandemonic Night Parade & Bring+Eyes=Death+Invite, those songs go hard
Nik should definitely check this band out
That transition 👌🏼
The skyrim speech increase edit never gets old. 🤣
The BREEEE felt more like the scary music before the jump scare and the BRUUUUUUU made everyone within a 3 sq mile radius jump
You must be hear Indonesian metal music 🤘
El video definitivamente está inspirado en obscure de dir en grey 🤙🏻
... Además es deviloof, esa banda nunca decepciona
The songs sound in the start of the audio tricked my mind into singing heathens by T1P 💀 the rest had me headbangin
Japan has some incredible bands. Maximum the Hormone is pretty well known, but there's others non-metal but whacked out heavy shit like 88Kasyo Junrei. If you're feeling adventurous, check out P-Model "2D or or not to 2D"
You know, this isn't my vibe, but I hope at least some else in this comment section is like me, heard the intro and thought "holy shit, this sounds like Hisako's theme"
I thought it was Danny Filth in the vocals (just by the look)
So nice had to play the song twice
Cradle of sushi goes hard.
Nik after 2 days, "How to create Japanese Metal in 30 seconds"
i don't expect people to enjoy this band but they are definitely heavy
Yo Darko new album dropped
they are so sick!!!
Clicked on this hoping for a Dir mention lol
I’ve known how to speak Japanese for a couple years now, and I can confidentially say, I understood not one single word here :)
