Laura A.
LMBO, yup.
Dem 5000 words essays,i feel you
Genius! Lmao
this guy does not know how to get the point
It ain't Obeezy rip
Kevin Delaney ,
That's what I was thinking too. He only exchanged the coins for their original monetary value as currency. But, some of those pennies might be incredibly rare.
I heard that 1943 pennies are worth $200K. He could have made bank if he had a handful of those.
OMFG I was gonna say bro.
For real, its like he repeated himself
So true..I was thinking the same. 😪
Game stop would be like "you have 2 dollars"
braxton lombardi pawn stars would be I give you $1 and that's after thier buddy gives an evaluation
braxton lombardi 😂😂😂😂 50. Cents if u want cash...lol
Skips ten seconds :
He collected pennies for his whole life
Skips ten seconds:
He collected pennies for his whole life
OMG GET TO THE POINT ALREADY
Jane Alto i know ghey always talk for ages like we care about it...we just want the cash sum so that we can watch the nxt shit video
Jane Alto thank you
He repeated the same fucking thing 2 times
Jane Alto ikr
I always wondered would it would be like if a guy cashed in loads of pennies. I can now sleep easy tonight. Thanks again
Chris Edwards wtf
What***
Chris Edwards
Chris Edwards 687-8472
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This dude said the same shit about 3 times.
I'm glad you counted. I was thinking he said the same thing 7 times.
Ikr
Spends 45 years to make a monthly wage, epic fail.
Holy shit this guy was narrating this video like how I write my essays to try and fit the minimum number of words.
are bee haha to true my friend probably why I don't do well on my essays
SAMEEE
Could you elaborate?
LMFAO!
are bee yeah it was kinda annoying nearly at the end when he said the same things (and i can agree on essays this is what i act like)
This could have been less than 3 minutes if he didn't keep on repeating the same thing. Thumbs down
greenclydefrog sorry your attention span doesn’t go further than 3 mins
smokedoubt sorry that I hurt your feeling, your attention span must be short because you couldn't tell that the story was repeated. I guess once wasn't good enough, hahahaha
greenclydefrog EXACTLY
ikr, its so annoying
greenclydefrog0
The jar at 1:30 is clearly quarters not pennies.. also the comment "that's like a 1000 times better than finding a dollar"? No. It's like 5000 times better lol
He could have stored it in a bank and earned $10,000 in compound interest over the space of 40 years .. DOH !!
Dave Dogge Well he didn't start with the entire sum of pennies, it was a slow build.
Big T. Larrity. Dave Dogge is correct even though it was a slow build. Assuming he saved at a steady pace, he saved $9.26 per month. With an average fed interest rate of approx 5.3% since 1972, starting with $9.26, adding $9.26 per month, for 45 years, with monthly compounding interest he’d have over $20,742. But not exactly...
Now, the highest interest rates were in his early stages of savings 1972-1990’s, so we’d need to factor that. I calculate he’d have approx $16,705 using the average yearly interest rates for each year from ‘72-‘17.
Saving pennies is stupid!
Banks give the shittiest return possible. He should have been putting it into an investment fund once a year instead.
Dave Dogge nah not at all the bank is not giving that much intrest
He could saved all the silver Dollars, half dollars and coins he could find. Then it would be worth up to 50k
5,000? Thats all? He fucking builds it up like its 250,000 this dude needs to get to the fucking point
I've been saving change a year now...gonna keep on doing it til i retire in 8 yrs
Will you take me to dinner after cashing in your pennies?
At least deposit it periodically into an account with compound interest. Over time, it can really add up. If this person in the video had put all of that into an account over that 40 years , it would be much more than $5k.
Let me give a quick example from a savings calculator. Start with $1 and save $5 /mo for 40 years with an average interest rate of 6.50 %. That comes out to $11,431.46 Much more than his $5136.14
Nancy Arellano ye im saving up too in my piggy pank 🐷
Nancy Arellano what's up wit it sexy
Man would I like to go through those pennies! I am almost certain there would be a penny worth at least $100 dollars in that many pennies. You could find a 1909 s VDB worth 200-1500 dollars, 1943 copper wheat penny worth upwards of $100k, 1944 steal penny worth 30-50k, 1914 d penny worth upwards of $1000, 1931 s penny worth upwards of $500, 1992 close AM worth up to $500. The list goes on and on. Man would it be cool to look through all that!
Jadon Noble ye
I was thinking the same thing.
1914d is only worth about 300, 31s is only worth about 150, svdb are worth about 650-2000+, but yea pennies can def be expensive..a 1922 no d is worth up to 20k
Jadon Noble i
Dwane Hubbard only 300...? That's a lot for just a penny, lol that said, I was thinking it would take a looong time to go through all those coins but finding some worth anything over its face value can compensate you for your time pretty good, you just need the patience and some good reference material... oh, also someone that's gonna pay for them as well!
I think it would've been more worth it if he sold the pennies seperately, think about it. The pennies could be so old that they would be valued more.
You repaeted the same words at least threé times quit stretching your vids out honestly. And you didnt even say how much he made Unsubbed.
He made nothing. It was all his money the bank just converted it into more manageable form.
facts
El Tigre,
Lol, that's actually true. Didn't even look at it like that til I read your post.
$5,136 doesn't seem like much...I know we're talking about pennies but...45 years!!!! I thought it was gonna be a crazy number
Robert mathews I thought it was going to be $10,000
Robert mathews
Thanks
Mic Spam God right I thought it was gonna be like 15 or 20 thousand
Robert mathews :O
i would love to see you get 513,600 pennies.
Stop going in circles with the story dude get to the point
Imagine if each penny would have been a quarter. $128,403.50 that's the kind of money would collecting over a lifetime. *note to self: do not collect pennies*
Ok, I've had it with these videos offering 15 seconds of content after three minutes of filler. Unsubscribed.
Bye bye! Another person with the attention span of a peanut! Bet you wish you saved your pennies now? Then you'd get the attention that you're seeking! Just saying.....
It has nothing to do with attention span. It has to do with the fact that these videos are routinely 90% filler with very little content. Nor was my comment directed at you or any other viewer, but at the makers of the video in the hopes that it will help convince them improve their channel. But hey, at least it gave you a chance to attempt a witty comment on RUclips. So there's that.
Dr_DiamondMiner but then you miss out some parts, including maybe content
Mikey Mike shut the fuck up
Christopher Payne yup
So he made 5,000+ dollars in 45 years
I AM DERP. no shit! I can make 5,000 in less than 2 months and I'm only 13
TheGreat Nick wow your so cool
TheGreat Nick you probably work in some factory in China mate
Around $111 a year
TheGreat Nick lol how
Dude, someone needs to forcibly take this guys thesaurus away. Dude, someone needs to forcibly take this guys thesaurus away. Dude, someone needs to forcibly take this guys thesaurus away. oh yeah, and the repetition
Matt Lorah lmfao
It started getting funny at 3:31
yup
:D
So true
how did you know
No it just got a whole lot better than the previous 3:31 seconds of your life.
Am I the only one that just wasted 3 minutes of my life trying to find out how much money he got in total
Alyshba Jamil 😂
Alyshba Jamil Wowww
You fine as hell 😍
No you aren't this video is extremly badly made...
Alyshba Jamil yea, this is like me in my essays
I have been saving pennies since this video started, got roughly 76 grand
Need a Dispenser here!! Liar
ChanJP's NewTube no shit
Need a Dispenser here!! That has got to be one of the funniest comments that I have ever read on RUclips
Need a Dispenser here!! Liar
Like ohmygoooddddd I like got 50 grand so like yeah.
Must've been quite the word stretcher in college.
Dude I've been saving all my change just for the past year & I already got a 5 Gallon jug half full that's why you never throw your change away it does add up after time
Jae KiDd
I would search through it for key dates and such if I were you.
5 hours to count and a lot of pennies worth 5 grand saved u three minutes
I hope he pulled out the wheaties
Probably had some worth more then a cent
Adam Hoekstra
Exactly
Even 82 and before is worth melting down if not just for the copper content
Or to coat cast bullets
But I'm not condoning that because it's against the law
Seriously had to be a bunch of collectibles in that lot
Tayredty
Right
On
May have even had one of those hard to find 1.3 million dollar pennies from 1943.
Thomas Russell
Or a 1909 VDB
They stopped making ing wheaties ~1960, 45 years ago was 1972, so he might have quite a few, but not an outstanding amount. Somebody said he might have indian heads, which stopped production in 1908 i think
It’s not about saving pennies it’s about collecting the rarest thing on earth
GREAT VIDEO................
Probably had several rare pennies that were worth quite a bit but guess he'll never know
Brandon Evans not to mention all the pennirs with actual copper in them, poor guy jipped himself anywhere from another 5000 or even 100,000.
Maybe there is an rare penny there
A*
Like those pennies that cos hundredths of thousands dollars
Good luck looking for it in five gallon water jugs
I meab it's totally worth it i just started getting into it and ive found a few of my change worth 4-30$ its not much but imagine him that had gallons of pennies for sure one of them was worth more 100k
1943 copper penny only 40 were ever made
Thanks for making us people in louisiana look cool
A man saved all of his pennies for 45 years. Took them to the bank, got $5,136 and 14 cents. I just saved you three minutes and thirty seconds. Merry ramachanukwanzyulemas, and happy new year.
3 minutes of dribble to find out he has over 5k. BFD!
hopebear06 this is a video version of writing an essay to reach word count
That video got me so sure it would be like $15,000 that by the end of it the $5,000 sounded disappointing. Geez, this channel...
It was five million you miss-read it
The Minecart Pro You are joking, yes?
I thought he was going to be able to retire
He lost money holding onto the currency as it became worth less, better off cashing it in more often and investing it.
ArcadeJackpotPro coins gain value over time. He Lost money because I'm sure he had some rare pennies but never tried looking for them.
@@teamracecar i said the same on another video lol
Well, there you have it! A penny saved is a penny earned!
Every penny counts 😂
i wish i was subscribed to this channel so i could unsubscribe,
ledzzappa lol
You got the power to subscribe and then unsubscribe. DO IT!!!! :-)😎
ledzzappa SHUTUP
Lol
same
He said it’s 1,000x better than finding an old dollar in our pockets, well actually it’s 5,000x better! 😂
Love your channel!! New sub.
Some rare penny are Thousands of dollars
Mike Men pennies
I was thinking the same thing
Mike Men i have a 1945 dime
My dad haves everything single year of penny's
Dewayne Boyd What year did he start collecting
He should have checked the pennies (actually the proper name is CENTS) for pre 1982 coins as the copper in them is worth 2.5 cents each. It may be illegal to melt them down but whose going to know? : O)
NOTE TO SELF!! Do not save 45 years worth of pennies!!!! It won't equal shit compared to the hassle of it all!!!!!
Getting $5,000 is 1000x better than finding a dollar in your pocket? That’s good math right there
I saved pennies once. When the container got full I cashed them in and got $10. Never did it again. LoL
Now imagine them all being quarters
$128,403.50
Keep 8,000lbs of pennies in my house for 45 years? No thanks
I want that 3 mins back, such a fucking waste of time and for only 5k?????
Thing is, some of them (After 45 years) HAD to be worth more than one cent....But he'll never know.
Dal Bailey I have a penny that dates back to 1935. I had one dating back even further to 1928 but Im not sure where that one went.
I actually had a penny from 1853. It was an off strike. If I still had it, it'd be worth way more than the $5 I paid for it...Error coins are worth quite a bit. The dang thing was larger and thicker than a quarter....
Dal Bailey Damn. That sucks
Dal Bailey I found the said 1928 penny back in 2006, I was 10 at the time. However, I lost the penny somewhere back in 2013 or 2014.
Bummer. I had a cousin who showed me a Nickle with a dime strike interior.... This was back in 1979 or so. I always wonder what he did with it.... So sad how our currency (Coins) and nothing compared to the beauty and class of those past years. St Gaudens $20 dollar Gold pieces, the $10 ones the $5 and then the Morgan Dollars. Such beauty will we never see again.... I remember having a mercury dime and how just incredible the back of it was and having Mercury on the front.... OH I am so sad for those days.....
Not gonna lie slot less than I expected
Slot lol!
Robert Webb
I read that in a Butthead voice.
LMFAOOOO!
45 years? A lot of those could have been sold to collectors, even in bulk, and made more than face value.
You know society is completely lost when they're told that printing money costs money. Lol
to make a short story long....
he made only 5k off 45 years of saving and remove alot of money for the jugs and the space
$5,136 That's It For 45 YEARS ???!!!!!
Thank you for your nice story! I was thinking they would have told him to look at the pennies from 45 years ago as he could have some very old pennies that are very valuable to collectors with possibly far more than $5,000 worth.
This man is Motivating me to Begin Keeping Changes and Pennies until one Day I cash them in
did he bother to realize that there could have been a rare penny in there which could have been quite valuable
C
Cindy Burton strongly agree that why I say they stiff him
I totally agree I’m certain that statistically there must’ve been a high-value Penny in they’re worth more than the measly five grand he got for saving all those pennies for 45 years he should’ve looked at them as he was collecting them
3z;11 actually it's 5,136.14 times better
YourFired wow! Yourfired huge fan of you. Keep up good work
I've gotta ask, is "YourFired" some kind of pun?
YourFired I
Probably would have been worth more if he melted them down for scrap copper.
Chris Dietz only ones that are old enough. They have been mostly Zinc for decades.
Around 1960 kids in our neighborhood decided a way to get back at our mean school cafeteria cashier would be to take in 25 pennies to pay for our lunch instead of a quarter. Each kid called several friends and told them to call other friends. On the appointed day pennies began to arrive with the 4th graders, continued with 5th graders, and by time the 6th graders went to
lunch the principal was standing behind the cashier taking names of all those paying with pennies. Apparently the stunt upset their normal routine and nobody wanted to spend hours rolling up pennies. Next year the cashier had been transferred to a Jr. High across town.
How sweet... well done 😃
The title says shocked, but he only got 5k dollars in total! This is clickbait at its finest!
Grimario Gaming 5000$ is alot
Ah yes, the old saying 'a penny saved is a penny earned.' Over 5K proves the point even more!
Mikey Mike 5k in 45 years isn't worth all the hassle, most people make 5k a month lmao
With inflation he ended up wasting 20,000$ worth of his time he could of spent investing or earning money
One of those pennies could've been rare and worth way more than the face value of all. I would've looked at each and every single one.
Help America recirculate pennies
He would have made more if he sorted out the wheat pennies. Generally, coin dealers pay 3 cents for wheat pennies. Who knows how many rares ones could have been in there over that amount of time. That 5K could have easily been worth 7500+
1:56 anyone else see his watch on backwards?
Billy Bee-sting yep lol
Billy Bee-sting people do that what's the big whoop?
I do that, doesn't really matter
He's Illuminati.
Roswell
5136 for 45 years worth of pennies? Not really worth it in the long run.
we're leaving out one vital piece of useful information. he didn't use coinstar. thumbs up!
Nice
What about the rare ones....all gone now
$5100! That's all after 45 YEARS???!!! For his sake I hope there is a rare coin among them
5 grand in 45 years? Thats not even worth the space the damn things took up
Me: Waiting to see how much money he got
Him: It actually takes more than a penny to make a penny
Me: GET TO THE POINT ALREADY 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
You can literally find 10-30+ pennies a day in the streets
Or at a car wash.
A soldier in hanau turned in his pennies before he headed back to the U.S.. Then he was going to turn the money back to pennies.
Imagine collecting all those pennies, then... they don't take pennies anymore anywhere...
Video starts at 1:40
Actually at 3:06
Actually 3:31
FunForSameer actually the video starts at 0:00
5 grand in 45 years.
You're welcome.
BUT IF WE ALL START SAVING PENNIES WONT THAT COST THE US GOVERNMENT MORE?
Bank : Sorry ! We do not take pennies.

This is for most of you that don't know, He made $5,136.14, Wondering how many pennies that is? Well that's 513,614 Pennies. How is that possible? (Not sure if that's accurate though, Used Calculator)
UT5flip Just x it by 100. Im sure thats whatbyou did right.
It averages out to 31 pennies a day... not the most practical way to save.
Grammar Nazi 5,136,140 pennies has a value of $51,361.40 . I don't mean to be a math nazi.
Phil Sulzer I find at least 2 to 3 times that much each day at the car wash.
When you got 500 words left for your paper
Wow $5000 in 45 years so basically 3 weeks of work seems like a waste of time...
45yrs for 5k ill pass haha
Cole Schlangen but it cost him nothing. Every day from work throw the few pennies in a jug.
That a nice chunk of change but 45 yrs should be way more
wanda Shivers he should've added some quarters dimes nickels in there. also imagine if he would have put aside $20 or $40 every check how much you will have.
It's not a penny, it's a 1 cent! They don't use penny's,pence and pounds in America. They use dollars and CENTS
Ben Piercy this is so incorrect
“Penny” is the nick name of 1 cent of dollar here in USA
Ben Piercy it the name of the coin
Well, you clearly do not live in nor are from America...
H P, I was replying to Ben.
You can clearly see he had silver coins as well. Saying he cashed in over $5000 in pennies is a bare faced lie.
If he would've put that $5k worth of pennies in stock certificates over 45 years, he'd probably be a millionaire by now...lol!
I see the trolls are out in force complaining about the video because they were too stupid to save their pennies, and now they're jealous! Ha ha, get a life! :-)
Mikey Mike Hmm, I guess actual criticizes that give valid criticism are trolls who hate the fact they haven't saved their pennies.
Mikey Mike ....yeah, I wish I spent 45 yrs of my life collecting fraudulent, fiat currency too so that I could add a measly $5k to my pocket (which accounts to about $600 after debasement calculations). What a wise investment of time and energy huh. I guess I'm just "jealous"
It also costs LESS than a penny to make a DOLLAR. I am so tired of that quote, we aren't losing some great chunk of dough making pennies. Especially as pennies last a hell of a lot longer than bills.
So do like Canada and get rid of them if the government is losing money
We,all, know how hard is to make a penny!
Moreover,we encourage our children to put every penny to the Piggy Bank...
When I showed my little neighbour The bread and butter was from the penny jar,she was amazed!
We,still,save more...
I accumulated 16 one gallon milk jugs of pennies from 1968 to 1978. I thought that was a lot!lot!
