One of the earliest "rookie errors" a new user to Studio One can make (and yes, I did it myself) is to accidentally click on that Scratchpad icon... then go crazy trying to figure out why your screen just split in two and trying to figure out what just happened and how to "fix" it. Going to the user's guide is useless because without even knowing something called a scratchpad exists, good luck trying to figure out how to "unsplit" your screen. At least you will never forget the cause, once you figure it out. 😉
Thanks for a brilliant video (as always!) Mike! I'm new to Studio One & this video is so helpful!
Great vid! And so handy to work out parts, definitely a must learn for me, very appreciated thank you Mike! 🙏🕊️
Nice demo! 👍
awesome thanks
Great Video Thank You. In doing my Deep Dive into Studio One, I am testing 2 Approaches in the first just taking a blank song and by the time you get done with Arranger track instrument etc. . . or the second is starting with a template with everything in it instrument wise but which drum kits do use, EZ, MODO BFD or XLN god help me having enough to do vocals. Either way you quickly find it is time to go to bed, so it is not as easy as one would 1st think. Love your stuff
Hi Mike.
Great content. I love your relaxed style.
Can I ask what qwerty keyboard you are using as I am looking to upgrade.
Have you tried editors keys studio one specific keyboard
Cheers
Paul
Excellent tutorial! However, it also demonstrates the big problem with the Arranger. At 10:30, when you drag the chorus from the scratchpad onto the original chorus, it splits the vocals that start a moment before the first bar of the section. I can't really use the Arranger until Presonus adds some more smarts to handle these overhanging parts correctly.
Yep. I use it, but it can mean a little editing here and there, depending on the track. Still an amazing workflow improvement, imo
If I have any overhanging parts in the arranger, I just manually drag them out.
Wow same as sketch app in pro tools
In case anyone is confused, Studio One 5 Artist doesn’t include this feature. The four buttons on the top right of the screen aren’t available.
What about studio one 5 pro? Does it have scratch pad, or is it only in version 6?
Because if so, its probably the only updated feature that might make it worth going from 5 to 6 😅
@@EricJohnson-fh8zj Yes, it's in 5 Pro
@@EricJohnson-fh8zj I’m not sure. I’m still on 5 Artist and tried to look all over for it. 🤣
Doesn't Studio One 3 have Scratch pad?
@@EricJohnson-fh8zjthe sratch pad is available in studio one 5 and 6 but only the professional editions 😊
