Hey mike what type of fertilizer would you recommend my flowers are not blooming but I do get leaves on them and they do get Plenty of light my hydrangeas have big leaves but no bloom and my other hydrangeas called Duchess it’s low to the ground it’s not even reblooming no leaves no nothing what should I do
I did a series of videos about why your hydrangea aren't blooming. Check them out and I think you'll learn a lot about you situation. Here is part 1 of a 3 part series: ruclips.net/video/dUkTc794Tos/видео.html
Great suggestions! I get the whole phosphorus thing. Question is this. If I don’t think my new flowers are getting enough light, can I do anything other than transplanting them? Thanks!
Mike you hit it on the head. I am indeed giving too much nitrogen it seems. I'll try very high phos fertilizer on my mature plants that I don't necessary need to "grow"
Hey can you help me I brought a hibiscus plant. It is giving numerous bud but the flower is not completely blooming. Like the petals are little folded. What should I do?
Sounds like they aren't getting enough water to fully develop. This happens to my rhododendrons in dry seasons. Try keeping a more steady supply of moisture at the roots. If it's in a pot, it can be helpful to up-pot at this time.
I have a rhododendron in a corner that is doing so well but then two others in the open. Those two have the fewest leaves, brown dry leaves and very thin. And they look worst every year. Maybe I should pick a different spot? What should I do?
Are the varieties different? Sometimes the wrong variety for a zone is planted and if it's a variety that blooms on old wood but the old wood dies back in the winter every year, you'll never get blooms. Just a thought.
I planted tulips in a pot with soil about 30 days ago. I water it once a week. The pot is in a window with mostly shade and daylight. Nothing has grown yet. Think it's too late to save it?
My geranium has ZERO blooms. They had 6 or 7 when I bought it and now I have none! Nothing. I water them the way they like, they’re in lots of sun, the leaves are thick green and healthy but nothing came back after I deadheaded them the first time. I’ve had geraniums for a couple of years and this has never happened. I can’t find a video that addresses this issue! 😢
I feel like I've tried everything. I have Petunias in a flower box. They're just green leafy sticks now. I've tried deadheading the blooms after they've been spent, I've cut the stem back halfway, used fertilizer for blooms, The soil is dry by the end of the day- I always water in the morning before work. They're so ugly. Thinking of giving up on them. :(
I'm beginning to wonder if they aren't getting enough water due to water not being absorbed into the soil, but instead running off the sides. The deck planter is 30 inches in length horizontally and 7 inches wide opening for plantings, 8 inches deep... You know what, here's the link to the planter so you can see it haha: www.menards.com/main/outdoors/planters-hanging-baskets-accessories/30-brown-cameo-planter/88530mn/p-1444450571849-c-10138.htm?tid=-9213748892945385590&ipos=2
Definitely too small. I'd get them plants in a bigger container or in the ground and give those roots a chance to grow and be able to support some blooms.
Just a suggestion before ending the any videos, you should summarize what you said in the entire video. Like this video you said plants need light, less nitrogen, more phosphorous and more water. 😊
I don't have a favorite commercial bloom fertilizer but one thing I should have added to the video is to use wood ash. That's really my favorite fertilizer for blooms. It works fantastic over time and can easily be taken out of any fire pit or fire place.
Been wondering this for awhile, thank you!
No problem! Hope you found your answers here and thanks for stopping by Erica!
Strait to the point. My plant needed more phosphorus and potassium. Thanks . Kepp up the good work.
Glad to help

Thanks for the A+!
Thank you , learned why my pomegranate tree is not flowing to make fruit; will try and change the nutrients to what you explained in this video
Many times, the nutrients are the problem.

Beautiful landscaping brother. My wife says she wants ours to look like that. I have the food forest look with only 3 rose plants. Haha
It's a lot of work but the payoff comes every spring for about 4 months when everything is in bloom.
Sound advice here, thank you!

I suppose you could limb up or cut down the tree that's shading them.

Great, that should help out.

They're in too much sun and not getting enough water.
Spot on Mike. Great advice...! Have you explained about the NPK ratios on fertiliser packaging? (Looks like you have). 😎
Maybe I need to go into more detail on it next time. Thanks!
Hello. I have a couple of rose bushes that grow nicely but do not flower growing side by side with other roses that do bloom regularly. Any ideas ?

Were they bulbs?

My magnolia plant is not blooming this year what should I do
Fertilize with a bloom fertilizer next spring.
@@MikeKincaid79 thanks a lot 🙏
What is the red plant at 1:37 in the video?
Rhododendron 'Taurus'
Can hydrangeas grow in shade?
They love shade. As long as you give them overhead sky light, they'll do well without direct sun.
@@MikeKincaid79 thank you so much ❤️ i finished watching your videos esp videos about hydrangeas and roses. 😻

My plant never grow big. There are buds but never bloom can you help
I need more info, like what plants, climate, how old are they, etc. The most important things are proper lighting, fertilizer, and water.
My shrub roses bloom a lots and lots in spring and then stopped, why thank you
Not sure, maybe a nutrient problem. Could it be the variety? Maybe too little sun? There are a lot of factors involved.

That's crazy, Josh, I can't keep these things from blooming. Are you sure they're getting enough sun?
Full sun all day. They're on my back deck which faces South. Could I be over watering?
You said your soil is dry by the end of the day but you water every day. Maybe they're in too small of a container.
I'm beginning to wonder if they aren't getting enough water due to water not being absorbed into the soil, but instead running off the sides.
