It seems like a good set for gouache maybe! It looks springy and a bit more abusable than natural hair brushes.... baffled by what the fan brushes are for though I have only ever used it to blend oils, seems unwieldy for watercolor

Hahaha! Right?? I have used fan brushes like twice for acrylics. I will say that it was fun to attempt and I could see using them for some wet on wet textures for landscapes. Or maybe additive textures for portraiture if you wanted a design feel sweeping across the person or background. I'm thinking of having a showcase with different types of brushes and challenging myself to use only that brush for an entire day... >.<
I definitely think these would be good for juicy gouaches but I'm hesitant to try in gouaches that have already dried (even if I let some water sit on them for awhile). They're synthetic, but they're a little softer than my "cost efficient" ones. Although...come to think of it....I have been using my natural hair for dried gouache..... hmmmmmmmmm.......

@@FarlyCreates oh no Farly that's a dangerous challenge! I'd just not paint on fan brush day! 😂
I think I'm good on fan brush, but even with oil/acrylic I'd still be curious who the heck are using these brushes?!
I need to get some nice sturdy synthetics for gouache I feel like an abusive owner subject my brushes to gouache
