I originally started watching your channel for fitness way back when, and now that I’m becoming a father I find myself learning more about parenthood through your content. You’re a great father, Long! Keep it up, brother👊🏻
You're a beast! Thank you! This is powerful motivation for me (fluctuate between 150-155 in body weight) to get back to 225-245. Hoping to eventually to push beyond that and get new for PR's :)
Great video for chest day motivation. I was at a seriously rough plateau for bench for a long ass time then I started following your format for building bench strength. I do it on my 2 weekly push days, but even with 1 less day per week than suggested I have added 40lbs to my bench in just 6 weeks. I have never seen that quick of an increase EVER - not even when I was an absolute beginner.
Do not worry about talking too much. We are literally here for it and obviously the other stuff. Going to bench now. Dads got a nice new ride for sure.
Hey man glad to see you and the family are out having fun. My wife and I took our daughter out pumpkin picking the other day. I also can relate to that looking forward to finishing a work out. It's a lot harder on some days rather than others but on the harder days I try to remember that consistency is key and power through it.
i 100% feel you on your point of wanting to get out asap after a workout. esp, w/ a busy schedule and just getting back it. workouts feels like its taking longer. love that you persevere through it all. at this point, working out is a mental exercise just as much as it is a physical. thanks for showing us that you feel this exact way too. we can do only push each other to better ourselves. continue the healthy journey!
idk man watching these videos just feel theraputic kinda and a give a serotin boost these gym sesh and watching long bench just seems so peaceful especially with the voice overs it's like sm asmr shiz. anyways long idk if you'll see this but yeah keep up the good work that kinda weird to say seeing as your more then twice my age.
Love your videos man, very motivating! I've never seen a guy your size bench that much. Thats very impressive. I'm a new subscriber. And you're very humble.
Can you talk about how you prevent injury and maybe some prior injuries you have had and what your recovery process looked like? You're an inspiration!
I honestly don't know why there are any dislikes on this video. Haters going to hate lol. I just recently came across your video and I was shocked on how strong your bench presses are. Any advice on improving bench press and would like to know also your diet and workout exercises. Awesome videos!
I’ve been watching this guy for years. I have seen him get thru tons of injuries and now covid. I’d like to point out, even unvaccinated, he has recovered AND increased his bench over 15% since being sick. This guy is a living legend.
@@jerrythechainsawguy8100 Oh nice. Yeah I was a breakthrough case in July and I just recently started working out a little bit again. I stopped working out for 2-3 months. It really takes a lot out of you. Glad he was able to get back into it so quickly after.
You are awesome brother, getting covid was definitely a hard thing and was really hard to function. Good to see your back in buisness again! Hitting those numbers like they are nothing bro.
A few times I have experienced this complete disinterest in being at the gym but luckily it has only happened once or twice in my 10+ years, usually I don't feel like myself when that happens. It makes me totally understand people who have a difficult time coming to the gym though, If I felt like that every session I wouldn't be going either, but I guess when I'm feeling myself I just don't think twice about it, its something I enjoy and do without any resistance inside of me.
Another awesome vid long...hey did you trim the legs ( skirting) on your frog lure shorter? Or did it come like that? I liked using a bronze eye frog and usually olive green and light brown worked good on lake seminole...i really love fishing it,, the way they just explode on it gets the adrenaline pumping,, but just couldn't ever master the hook-up with it,, lost alot of big fish on that lure... peace from S.W. Good catch, yes I did trim it. The long legs increase chances of short strikes imo. Gotta love that top water bite! 1.5-2sec count before hookset usually works for me.
Heavy singles do not build strength well. Training them helps you express the strength you already have. General strength training are sets between 3 and 6.
hi Long, sorry if you already answered this but i am new to your channel and only watched about a dozen vids so far and haven't seen it answered. i think you said you don't track your diet or anything, so i was just curious what foods on average you eat every day to maintain your weight so consistently. thanks
Hey James, you’re right. I don’t track my diet. I eat everything except for deep fried food, pizza and soda. All else is fair game. 3 normal portion sized meals a day.
Man if you can take vitamine d3 500-1000UI + vitamine k2 daily x1 and you can upgrade your immune system because now your body is shocked by the Covid-19 btw if you eat well , train smart and take some supply like vitamine & minerals you can come back really easy in max 1 month . I Hope you will come back , Thanks for your impression and your smartness in the Gym . I'm from Italy and i use your same roadmap on benchpress .
Hey man just wondering, is your warmup just your warmup sets or do you do other workouts before hand such as the overhead tricep machine workout u also do?
I have a mild scoliosis, what workout would you suggest for a thin teen ager like me, i want to have a lean body at least. I have dumbells at home but I don't know what workout plan should I follow. Thanks.
Just finished the first 4 weeks of your bench program. My bench press max went up 25 lbs from 240 to 265. I am going to run it for another four weeks. Is this a program that I can continue to run forever have strength increases or should I take a break? Love the videos also your program has been very helpful.
Awesome job! You can continue to run it, just listen to your body and make sure you’re getting enough recovery. If the gains slow down, feel free to switch it up.
Crazy inspiring as always , i have a question, i go to the gym everyday, is anything wrong doing bench press every day also? Im starting your program following the % and reps , but I don't do it always , just 3 days then the other 3 i do a lighter session... Does doing bench every day affect the progression ? Thanks in advance to whoever can help me!
I would avoid benching every day unless you’re under 18yrs old and have amazing recovery time. Even then, my program calls for heavy weights so I’d still recommend giving your body extra time off. When I benched every day in high school, I did much less weight and more reps so it wasn’t as strenuous.
@@UFpwrLifter thanks for replying! Yeah , im 18, but makes sense giving my body more time.... I will stick to the program and let you know how it went in a couple weeks , so far so good! Thanks!
Do you do any other type of exercises outside of the gym when you only can get to the gym twice in a week? If not, maybe doing some light calisthenics can help with the strength loss. Even a 10 minute session at home may be enough work for the muscles to not weaken and help to bridge you over the hump to your next gym session.
Hey man ive had problems recently with the bar dropping on my chest while im pushing it up it will rotate suddenly out of my hands. It seems like the bars at my gym are in pretty bad condition the sleeves dont spin freely. Do you deal with this often? Thanks
@@UFpwrLifter that’s for the reply buddy . Been a big fan for quite some time . Is it just a case of low volume each session…. Only asking as I feel my recovery could be hindered going 100 percent 3 times per week . Thank for taking the time to answer my initial question :)
My gym goes up to 100 and I did that for reps. The hardest part for me not being familiar with DB presses we’re getting into position with the heavier DBs.
Question, you said you did 80-85% of your 1 rep max for 20 reps each workout right? But do you add weight over a period of time then or do you try your 1 rep max every 4 weeks for instance?
so i heard when u squeeze the bar it feels more stable, and i find my self benching higher numbers when i use a tight grip on the bar, im sure u do the same as well, so if i used grippers would it make it feel more stable since my grip is stronger then before?
