Did mine, first try, with Ursaluna (regular) with the CPU bots. Facade, Headlong Rush, Belly Drum, Drain Punch. Holding Fire Orb. Wasn’t too bad and checked it off ✅
How did you do it? I didn't do the raid yet but I feel like Ursaluna will take a lot of damage from drain punch. I might try to use Ursaluna but I'm not sure if it'll work. Can you tell me how you used it?
How the hell do you survive Drain Punch? Even fully Hyper Trained with EVs in HP and Defense, it takes away half my health. Then after terrastalizing the normal weakness away, Flame Crash finishes the job.
Another great video and guide. Thank you so much Austin. I was able to do this without resetting for an Intimidater. Sylveon Bellibolt and Heracross were the NPC's Pokemon. Mud slap was clapping. Literally my run and yours played out the same except for the crit. All the moves and animations happened the same time for us lol
this strat might be more consistent than you've given it credit. I did this with the same Garchomp, but Hyper trained, and the Arcanine partner. Despite receiving a crit during my Swords Dances, I was still able to win without any issue (I terastalyzed immediately after the Swords Dances since I was super low on HP). Thank you as always!
I used a slightly different Garchomp set and it worked so easily first try. I don’t remember who the other NPC pokemon were except a Gardevoir that just spammed Life Dew back to back. The Sand Veil/Sandstorm strat worked wonders. It only used Drain Punch for the most part but it missed almost half of them. Garchomp @ Shell Bell Ability: Sand Veil Tera Type: Ground EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature - Breaking Swipe - Earthquake - Swords Dance - Sandstorm
Didn’t have any intimidaters but had gardevoir with life dew and synchronise which burnt emboar. Also got lucky at the end when I got knocked out I did the sword dance and required 2 earthquakes, on the 1st earthquake emboars second move was wild charge which save me on 60hp
These are coming so far apart that I keep missing them! I had all of these for the first 10 or so and then I missed some of my favorites like Swampert Empoleon and Meganium
Standard Anihilape built to solo 6* raids works wonders here. You just need to bulk up 3x then hit him until player reset that happens only once, then you 6x bulk up and rage fist till the end. When he brings your hp down you stop buffing and hit a couple times to recover your hp.
Mons I used for the 7-Star Raids so far: Azumarill for Charizard Slowbro for Cinderace/Greninja Iron Hands for Decidueye Annihilape for Typholsion Koraidon for Samurott Kingambit for Inteleon Appletun for Chesnaught Chesnaught for Venusaur Vaporeon for Blastoise Skeledirge for Meganium Lugia for Swampert Garchomp for Emboar
Drifblim is also valuable as an AI partner as it uses Will-o-wisp. Was able to complete with Rough Skin Garchomp next to Drifblim, Heracross, and Haxorus with 1/4 time remaining. Thanks Austin!
I wonder why no one is using Palossand for this event. It's immune to Drain Punch and Wild Charge, and it resists Head Smash. I just used it and it works just as well as Garchomp, if not better because of its special attack (not having to worry about Bulk up). I would definitely put a Metronome on it, though. My setup was this: Palossand (Modest, max defense and sp. attack): - Rain Dance -Iron Defense - Earth Power - Shore up The Rain Dance isn't really necessary if you have intimidate on your team. Palossand eats Emboars attacks like it's nothing with two iron defenses, so I would start with climbing its defense first, then spamming earth power, and using shore up when absolutely necessary.
I ended up failing three times solo, either I did something wrong preparing garchomp or rng wasn't on my side. I'll admit I'm more of a casual player and never done competitive battles online so I'm a bit slow when it comes to stats and natures. I ended up joining a raid with people online and we struggled alot and almost lost but managed to knock out emboar in time 😅 but hey I now have an emboar sitting in my boxes. Thanks for making this Austin!
You can buy the stat increasers like hp up and protein as well as the nature mints at the chansey supply. It's better to increase the stats of unused pokemon since battling increases stats the same way, but a pokemon's total stats can only increase just over enough to max out 2 stats. (Although there are certain berries that decrease one stat that you can use if you need to increase another, but they're difficult to farm.) When these videos say 252 in a certain stat, you want to give an unused pokemon 26 of the corresponding stat increaser, which is the max the game will let you use on a pokemon. You can also use bottle caps to hyper train all the pokemon's stats, which does not interfere with the stat increasers. Go to the Montenerva (middle of the mountain) pokemon center and talk to the npc next to the Abomasnow right next to the pokemon center area. You can buy bottle caps at delibird presents general goods. Now, both methods can be pricey, so either get LP just by going to tera crystals (don't even need to do the raid, just press a, then cancel), or the tournament to get cash (Persian's pay day and Gholdengo's make it rain get you more money but can't solo the tournament, or a level 100 chi-yu can just spam dark pulse. Either way, have the pokemon hold amulet coin.
7:44 emboar's drawbacks are normally his slow speed and that all of his good moves do a ton of recoil damage or lower his stats. In a raid, speed really doesn't matter much and he has so much HP that recoil doesn't matter at all. He's free to hit like a truck with impunity.
I know it's not accessible to everyone but I'm building therian form landorous Ability: intimidate Moves: Protect, sandsear storm, earthquake, bulk up Terra type: stella Ev's: 252atk 252hp 4def Item: shell bell Nature: adamant
This was a very effective strategy and I made a couple changes to it since I was never felt I was in a race against the clock: - I skipped the Earthquake before Tera, the minuscule damage it does really wasn’t worth sacrificing a move. - As soon as Emboar went for the scripted Bulk Up, I used one Breaking Swipe. Bringing its attack back down from +2 to +1 makes the end of the raid much less stressful.
Mine was HP atk with raised atk nature, shell bell. Don't need intimidate either. Got it first time on both games. I didn't even tera first time because I thought I was fighting tera type but it was actually ghost 🤣
I used Rhyperior with Max Atk and Def holding Shell Bell. The rock typing forces Emboar to mostly use Drain Punch which, while super effective, is still weaker than a neutral, base-power Flare Blitz due to Solid Rock. 3 Breaking Swipes to get the Terastalization going, but not immediately. After Emboar nullifies our stats and abilities, spam Curse to get our Atk and Def up and Terastalize to use Earthquake to get some HP back when low. Once maxed out with curse, keep attacking with Earthquake. Been consistent with and without an Intimidate partner.
I did it with the classic Annihilape (Bulk-Up & Rage Fist). Emboar can burn you, but you can cleanse it with a Heal Cheer. If you're not too unlucky with the burns, it's fairly easy to win. - Bulk-Up - Attack to charge Tera Energy - (Get KOed) - Bulk-Up x2 +Terastalyze - Attack - When the shield breaks or just before, I'd add a couple more Bulk-Up - Attack until you win.

Thanks for the build suggestion. Messed up and used a swords dance instead of rain dance, lost my Tera, but managed to pull thru after all the commotion. Much appreciated bro💯🤙🏽
I decided to make such an unorthodox yet working build for this raid, and I must preface that it is one that will take in a faint or two but that’s still all good to do unless other than some unlucky crit timing. Ground Tera Baxcalibur 252 ATK/252 HP/6 DEF Swords Dance Breaking Swipe Snowscape Earthquake (boost some PP just in case) Shell Bell item It basically begins the same using 3 Breaking Swipes and then take an early faint, then after returning back in you Tera using Swords Dance and then begin some EQ spams as Emboar is usually gonna use Flare Blitz and therefore boosts Baxcalibur’s attack stat due to Thermal Exchange essentially doing part of the work for ya. And perhaps around after breaking their shield you should Snowscape for a moment as the Bulk Up boosts will likely hit hard and you may or may not take a second faint from there but should essentially remove so much health with still with a good amount of timer left to just finish Emboar off. I will admit this wasn’t the full way mines played out as I didn’t use snowscape, did swords dance twice being unaware of the attack patterns after terastalizing and that double hit moment was actually triple for me likely due to scripted action overlap. This ain’t the build for sake of ease but simply one that’s fun to do for being so unexpected to do so.
@@derboeseVlysherI’ll be honest and saying I’ve never tried it because I never had a Baxcalibur outside of it being Tera ice or stellar other than for this raid. I believe if it learns it a better substitute would be rain dance though if I’m honest the fourth move with it is irrelevant as I originally had bulldoze over a weather/terrain but found out I outspeed emboar and it doesn’t boost that stat so it was basically useless. But everything else is basically all you need if you just want to have a strange yet working build lmao
Armarouge with MAx HP/Def and Iron Defense, Acid Sprey, Scorching Sand and Calm Mind (Flash Fire ability) is an EASY clear regardless of your NPC partners. However it is Scarlet exclusive and the event for raids with it are not currently present so if you didn't get it by now, i guess you need something else (or try Ceruledge?). Tera Ground of course.
The following worked for me to very easily defeat Emboar in both of my games (An Intimidate ally helps!): Turns 1 - 3: Chilling Water (x 3) to power up terastalization and lower Emboar's Atk stat. Turns 4 - 5: Terastalize + Bulk Up (x 2) Turn 6 and onward: Repeatedly use Earthquake until Emboar's shield comes up and he resets your stats. Next: Bulk Up (x 6) FINISH HIM: Earthquake until victory Swampert Moves: Earthquake, Bulk Up, Chilling Water EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def Nature: Adamant Mint | Item: Shell Bell Tera type: Ground
My support build was different, I’m surprised nobody ever mentions it, sure it doesn’t necessarily do heavy damage but it helps the crew especially if your teammates have Garchomp and Swampert. I used a bulky Palossand with sand veil, sandstorm, shore up, iron defense, and chilling water. Garchomp usually will have sand veil and the sandstorm helps not only boost evasion but chip damage. I gave it Rocky Helmet for a bit more chip damage with its usage of recoil moves. After just 1 iron defense, 3 chilling water, and everyone is hanging in there relatively easy. He can’t use his wild charge, he can’t use his drain punch, he usually tends to throw fire blitz which one person threw a rain dance and that move became laughably weak.
Garchomp tera ground, adamant nature, max both physical stats and have rough skin. Breaking swipe, swords dance and earthquake were the only moves i needed. Edit: Gliscore and Quagsire seemed to have helped. Thanks for the mud slaps.
For online support Palossand is awesome (random raids). Water Compaction ability, HP/Def, Bold nature. Skill Swap, Iron Defense, Chilling Water, Scorching Sands or Shore Up (Mud Slap and Rain Dance are also good options too).
I used this garchomp with randoms online. Got it done near the end (2 swamperts and one umbreon) I just kept doing breaking swipe like 12 times lol I had stomping tantrum instead of earthquake. This video helped me!
Alwais a GREAT job at strats! This worked well, even if he did crit with his fire charge with a crit and left me at 50 hp from full life. Gambled on keep going instead to use a healing charm and his next attacks did nothing so i could recover. Had to use 1 extra Rain Dance because he started to attack 2-3 times after each of my moves, actually went 4 times in a row initially, after shield break.
I used Armarouge with my battle with Emboar last night & got it on the first try! I watched Osirus' video where he used Armarouge with his battle with Emboar & follow his pattern! Used an Ultra Ball to catch my Emboar!
@@KyleJinDenver Nah I didn't watch anyone's videos before I attempted it. Tried Clodsire first in case it had Scald but it was getting KO'd immediately. Switched to Armarouge after that since it's worked with other bulky raids
I used a max defense and max Hp Quagmire with the ability unaware and it’s moves were Chilling Water, Earthquake, Curse and Recover and it’s held item was leftovers. It didn’t do a lot of damage but it never feinted.
Got a little unlucky on my first try. (Emboar burned me TWICE.) but other than that this strat worked like a charm. 2nd try went perfectly. Leave it to Austin to always make the most helpful and dependable tutorials.
May I suggest Ceruledge?, very accessible and immune to fire and fighting as well as access to burn with will-o-wisp and self-recovery with bitter blade instead of shell bell
Idk if anybody had problems with getting Garchomp to pop off 3 SD's before shield like me, but if so try Annihilape. Max Atk and Def evs plus last 4 in hp. Ability doesn't matter. Ghost tera. Make sure you have an Intimidate NPC; others don't matter. Moveset is Rage Fist and Bulk Up plus 2 unused moves. Start off with 2 Bulk Ups. Hit with Rage Fist. Lose your buffs. Hit Rage Fist two more times to have tera ready. Prolly will kill you once first...did for me. But, either way if you die once or not, get Bulk Up up to 5. Tera Ghost after you have 5 and use Rage Fist. Took 1 to bonk shield and 2 more to win.
I just used Great Tusk with bulk up, earthquake, headlong rush if you need it, and close combat. Pretty easy, particularly once you have like 3 or 4 bulk ups. Just pay that you don't get burned.
swampert Strat step by step Swampert @ Shell Bell Ability: Torrent Tera Type: Stellar EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD Adamant Nature - Bulk Up - Chilling Water - Earthquake - Screech step one: chilling water three times step two: tera EQ step three: 3 bulk ups then EQ til shields drop step four: screech twice step five spam EQ GG only catch make sure you don't get critted
I've heard somewhere this Emboar has more HP than any of the other starters for some reason. Another easily accessible mon I've seen is Armorouge with Ground Tera; Iron Defense, Acid Spray, Calm Mind, Scorching Sands. If you don't have access to the DLC, you could 'try' and use Tera Blast instead of Scorching Sands, but you miss those Burn chances.
Annihilape, max hp and def remaining go to atk. Ghost Tera with Shell Bell Bulk Up, Rage Fist, Rain Dance (to lower fire damage), Focus Energy (because crits are nice). Turn 1 go for Rain Dance. Turn 2 I Bulk Up. Turn 3, heal cheer if needed or Rage Fist. After that, buff when you need to, after taking damage use Rage Fist. After stat reset, Bulk Up some more before Rage Fisting. Make sure to stay on top of your rain dance. Eventually, you should be able to Tera. Tera with Bulk Up and let your Rage fist go brrrrr.
I got it the first try, if you don't count the round or two I quit in the first three turns because of getting crit or seeing arboliva. Gargancl, gardevoir and umbreon as NPCs. Garchomp built as suggested (although mine is shiny ;D) thanks for this!
I used Mew, posted by another person. Psychic Teral, Modest Nature, Ability Synchronize, HP 252, SPA 252, DEF 6. Iron Def, Nasty Plot, Acid Spray, Store Power, Item Shell Bell.
Swampert Tera: ground Moves: earthquake, bulk up, screech, liquidation I EV trained his attack and defense considering Emboar is a physical attacker. Torrent ability Shell bell 3x liquidation (wait for his shield and to erase any boosts) 6x bulk up Earthquake the rest of raid I had an intimidate and Gardevoir with life dew which didn’t get me below 3/4 health the whole time. Easy raid.
lol I had no trouble with just an intimidator and no Arboliva... Just used breaking swipe twice and started swords dancing than attacked! I guess RNJesus was on my side
I had good luck with unaware Quagsire, you can get him from a trade in base game. Maxd def and att, curse, chilling water, liquidation, and earthquake with shell bell
Same. Earthquake, Curse, Slack Off, and Sandstorm. Earthquake until stat reset, then Curse until +6. Slack off to regain health as necessary. Then Sandstorm and Earthquake until he's dead. And Sandstorm isn't strictly necessary.
I did this battle with my great tusk I would use headlong rush and then when shields are up I would bulk up a ton then headlong rush twice more then I would tera then typically it dies in 2-3 hits
I tried this strat but messed up: I forgot to check Garchomp’s Tera Type. Tera Dragon ended up barely working, once I pivoted to spamming Breaking Swipe to destroy the shield and spamming EQ afterward.
I used a great tusk with max atk and max hp holding leftovers just used bulk up and eq got it on my 2nd try cents i had the gardavor npc I bulk up 2 times use eq 1 then abilities go off and Stat buffs go away then I bulked up to +6 use eq 2 times so I could Terra then used Terra boost eq until it when down by recoil adment nature Terra ground
Yea i used a garchomp with max attack ev and max defence ev. Rest in health. Moves where earthquake. Dragonclaw. Swordsdance and iron head. Adament nature and shell bell. Took me 3 times although i was trying to learn the raid.
Hey! I used the Rough Skin ability for gradual damage, Stellar tera for terastalized S.T.A.B. with Breaking Swipe (should you accidentally tera early), and for Earthquake, I have max Attack and Defense with the final 4 points in HP, and a Shell Bell. If you're doing this without an intimidator Pokemon as an NPC ally, you can be the slower intimidator with each Breaking Swipe. If you don't have an Arboliva NPC Ally, the Shell Bell can work as a proper stand-in. The Swords Dances are crucial, and If you play with actual people you can use them as your gradual offensive supporters during the fight. I'm Going until the 23rd so, on the off chance that you see me, say hi under this comment! (My Garchomp is named Chompy Mage lol)
Swampert with earthquake, bulk up, screech, liquidation.
Did the same expect chilling water instead of liquidation
Instead of liquidation I choose mudslap. Worked wonders.

Next: Bulk Up (x 6)
FINISH HIM: Earthquake until victory
Swampert
Moves: Earthquake, Bulk Up, Chilling Water
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Nature: Adamant Mint | Item: Shell Bell
Tera type: Ground
Getting back into the game , glad to always come back to your channel when I do :)
After a few resets, I got both Taurus and Arcanine as my allies. It was a breeze. Thank you for these videos.
I went sand veil garchomp with Sandstorm, Earthquake, sword dance and cruch, worked fine
Thanks for going the extra mile to find the most accessible Pokemon for these raids
Skill Swap, Iron Defense, Chilling Water, Scorching Sands or Shore Up (Mud Slap and Rain Dance are also good options too).
shouldnt you change the ability? after your skill swap, wouldnt you be buffing emboars defense stats up every time you use chilling water?
Thanks, this really helped. I may have also nicknamed the Garchomp, Ground Pork... sorry, not sorry
I used this garchomp with randoms online. Got it done near the end (2 swamperts and one umbreon)
I just kept doing breaking swipe like 12 times lol
I had stomping tantrum instead of earthquake.
Unfortunately I already took him out with my Rhyperior in my second attempt but I love your videos so I'm still gonna watch. Keep it real
I have my Garchomp in reserve but I will try the Armarouge strat.
I did it with Flash Fire Armarouge using Acid Spray, Iron Defense, Calm Mind, and Stored Power
From Osirus' vid, right
@@KyleJinDenver Nah I didn't watch anyone's videos before I attempted it.
It knows Head Smash; turn 1, you die.
This build saved me from giving up! Thanks for sharing!
He was easy for me. I played online and used Gliscor.
This is the first raid where a pokemon I prepped before hand was actually good 🎉
Thanks for the video AJP! Gonna go run this now, fingers crossed.
Thought this was going to be a pain, got it on my 1st try. Thanks for the strat
you can also get away with a gardevoir ally as well instead of arboliva. This strategy worked really well
Got knocked out towards the end but he threw with Wild Charge twice! Thanks for the strat!
As a certified Henry, my 3rd favourite pokemon is corvinight
Your timing is impeccable Mr. AustinJohnPlays
Did mine with Swampert holding Shell Bell with Earthquake, Bulk Up, Screech, Rain Dance.
Ty austin i did the strat and got it first try your best pokemon youtuber out there alwayw helping the community
swampert Strat step by step
Swampert @ Shell Bell
Ability: Torrent
Tera Type: Stellar
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Chilling Water
- Earthquake
- Screech
step one: chilling water three times
step two: tera EQ
step three: 3 bulk ups then EQ til shields drop
step four: screech twice
step five spam EQ GG
only catch make sure you don't get critted
I've heard somewhere this Emboar has more HP than any of the other starters for some reason.
Another easily accessible mon I've seen is Armorouge with Ground Tera; Iron Defense, Acid Spray, Calm Mind, Scorching Sands. If you don't have access to the DLC, you could 'try' and use Tera Blast instead of Scorching Sands, but you miss those Burn chances.
I got lucky using this build I got bot Arcanine and Paldean Tauros and Belibolt as my 3rd NPC. It had basically no attack the entire battle
Annihilape, max hp and def remaining go to atk.
Ghost Tera with Shell Bell
Bulk Up, Rage Fist, Rain Dance (to lower fire damage), Focus Energy (because crits are nice).
I’ve seen a flagon with mud slap breaking swipe and psychic noise be a very good support for this raid
Would swampert be a good choice for this battle Austin or not
Thanks for the video, I had to improvise a bit but I got there in the end
Im not even doing the raids anymore, these videos just make me happy
I got it the first try, if you don't count the round or two I quit in the first three turns because of getting crit or seeing arboliva. Gargancl, gardevoir and umbreon as NPCs. Garchomp built as suggested (although mine is shiny ;D) thanks for this!
I smoked it with Garchomp on my first try too
I used Mew, posted by another person. Psychic Teral, Modest Nature, Ability Synchronize, HP 252, SPA 252, DEF 6. Iron Def, Nasty Plot, Acid Spray, Store Power, Item Shell Bell.
Thank you Austin it worked !!! Totally followed your steps granted my garchomp was not maxed ev/ivs just vitamins.
Wow it's been a while since I done these battles, cool maybe I wait for the Pikachu Raid Battle then
Thank you for informations!! ❤❤ Austin
Swampert
Tera: ground
Moves: earthquake, bulk up, screech, liquidation
I EV trained his attack and defense considering Emboar is a physical attacker.
Torrent ability
Shell bell
3x liquidation (wait for his shield and to erase any boosts)
6x bulk up
Earthquake the rest of raid
I had an intimidate and Gardevoir with life dew which didn’t get me below 3/4 health the whole time.
Easy raid.
Austin John Plays, I liked!
That's a nice setup for the fight.
I followed the strategy and it worked perfectly for me in solo raids. Took me 2 tentatives to get my Mighty Emboar
lol I had no trouble with just an intimidator and no Arboliva... Just used breaking swipe twice and started swords dancing than attacked! I guess RNJesus was on my side
Mew Support helps:
Mew @ Light clay
252 HP/ 252 Sp.atk/ 4 Spe
Impish Nature.
- Reflect
- Life Dew
- Rain Dance
- Chilling Water.
I had good luck with unaware Quagsire, you can get him from a trade in base game. Maxd def and att, curse, chilling water, liquidation, and earthquake with shell bell
Sandygast with Earth Power, Scorshing Sands, Shore Up, Iron Defense
I don't even play this game anymore, it's just nice to see ma boi Austin lol
Thank you Austin ❤
TO THE WAR ROOM, FRIENDS! OUR GENERAL HAS SENT FORTH THE CALL!
Reporting for duty sir o7
Does Emboar have Scald?, sir
@RodimusMinor1987 no, it doesn't
@@silverstreak227
That was a relief
Yeah, Garchomp was what I settled on during the pregaming too.
I used Hippowdon
Same. Earthquake, Curse, Slack Off, and Sandstorm. Earthquake until stat reset, then Curse until +6. Slack off to regain health as necessary. Then Sandstorm and Earthquake until he's dead. And Sandstorm isn't strictly necessary.
What’s the nature & stats for your hippowdon?
@@FireheartSamurai earthquake, tera blast, slack off, curse. Nature: +defense, - special attack, 252 attack & defense, 4 hp
Thank you
I did this battle with my great tusk I would use headlong rush and then when shields are up I would bulk up a ton then headlong rush twice more then I would tera then typically it dies in 2-3 hits
I tried this strat but messed up: I forgot to check Garchomp’s Tera Type. Tera Dragon ended up barely working, once I pivoted to spamming Breaking Swipe to destroy the shield and spamming EQ afterward.
I got it! thanks so much for the guide as always.
Had Staraptor and Gardevoir for AI and that Gardevoir's Life Dew actually cluctch the fight 2 times
It would be interesting to see both THE strat (with any pokemon inc. home) and ALSO an accessible version
Yea i used a garchomp with max attack ev and max defence ev. Rest in health. Moves where earthquake. Dragonclaw. Swordsdance and iron head. Adament nature and shell bell. Took me 3 times although i was trying to learn the raid.
I was planning to use my trusty gastrodon (chilling water and mud slap) to keep attack and accuracy down
Gliscore with earthquake swords dance and toxic orb is amazing
Same but used Poison Jab instead of Toxic for accuracy and saving the Earthquakes for when maxed out attack and Tera Charge.
