as tight a band as was possible.... guitar leads insane! and the bass runs all over... I was 15 when this came out and they blew everyone else out of the water when it came to rockin it
I was there when this was filmed. I moved into the upstairs apartment above the Whiskey in 1964, and kept the crib until around 1974 or '75, too old to remember anymore. Matter of fact I helped hang up one of the cages. Good daze back then.
I was twenty years old back then. They were breifly the number one blue eyed soul group at that time. Their record company and the group ended up having to pay Little Richard a fortune.
riding around in a 55 chevy with 6 pack Coors dragging the streets in AC kansas when this song was on WKY or KOMA OKlahoma city . GREAT TIMES 1964/1965 . would love to live them times again .
Saw them live in '67 at my first outdoor concert, if you could call it that, in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Was just a small fenced in field. The sound was rock'n and I've never stopped rock'n to them!
Yeah a decent bass line. But the real stars on this tune are lead guitarist Jim McCarty and drummer Johnny B. And of course Mitch. Huge talent in this band mostly wasted on covers. Probably the best song that came out in 1965, a great year for rock and roll.
@@dsparkman6315 Y 2:15 es. This is my FAVORITE song 😂 of Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels!!!! I was absolutely GA-GA when I saw Mitch Ryder for the first time!!!!!! WOW. I was only 14 years old..... probably going on 15 years old. Mitch just simply CAUGHT MY ATTENTION!!!!! And, yes..... I know that the one guitarist was Jim McCarty (spell?). He was a really REALLY good musician. AND I have come to recognize John Batanjek ( I do believe that I MAY HAVE misspelled HIS last name.... but.... certainly NOT ON PURPOSE! ). This song has so much energy. Popped into my head today and I just had to take a walk down memory lane.

Truly a rockin band back then, always hot & fast!! 💥❤️
VIGOROUS go-go dancing during the “Hullabaloo A Go-Go” portion of the national TV show “Hullabaloo”. I approve wholeheartedly.

Mitch and Johnny B TEARING It UP in 65'
I woke up to this song on my radio just this morning. It's great

Hey old timer, that must have been some party..
What a blast participating in this recording!! Jimmy McCarty is soon talented!!
Watching you and everyone dancing at 120 BPM is awesome! 😎 Born too late...1964✌️
Walkin the Dog is my favorite song of theirs.
Great combination of musicianship, production skill and studio engineering!!
THAT'S ROCK and ROLL!
Mitch killed it, love that guy saw him in Saginaw, Michigan when I was in kindergarten 1966 it was at Delta college, thx Mitch!!!
Mitch's voice is pure Rock and Roll
pure blue-eyed soul is more like it
best go-go dancers ever
Mitch really brought the soul for a white boy! And the coming shredding greatness by Jim McCarty was already starting to show.
Funny as it sounds, I wish I could move like I did back then. It was a good time in life.
Here because i heard it in Once Upon a time in Hollywood 😎
One of my favorite rock songs of all time , save Satisfaction, by Mick Jagger & the Rolling Stones 😊 !
Love this track 😎
I put uncountable quarters in jukeboxes for this group. Down & out Boogie ..
Amazing Go-Go dancers.... 😊 safety at its 1960s fabulous worst.. Love it... 😍😻🙌🏻🙏🏻

Rock and Roll will always be in our lives.

Awesome 👌 jumping music 🎶 👌
The bass line makes this song ...he "walks" it masterfully!
This bass is driving the tune very well.
He never stops, just keeps drivin'
The rhythm section is so killer on this song!
The bass playing is fantastic. Who is the bass player: Earl Elliot or Jim McCallister? Thanks.
The band displays relentless, unbridled impetus, and even reaches a notch higher when it segues into Jenny, Jenny at 1:43
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH....... YOU SURE SAID IT!!!!!
It’s awesome!

This Jenny song totally influenced Ted’s “Catscratch Fever”
Yes I am here after watching Ted Nugent on Joe Rogan.....
Same here. Just had to see the roots of his CC Rider Guitar lick.

Jai sri Govinda
When the band chorus, they should sing "CC Rider" but actually change it to "See Mitch Ryder"
The joe rogan podcast featuring Ted Nugent brought me here
What are those dancers On
The Detroit Wheels!
What a perfect combination of vocals, band, songs & production!!
Wow. They had women in cages in my birth year.

How many people hate directors and choreographers for distracting from the Detroit Wheels lip syncing. Where was Johnny Bee on drums?
Where is the BASS PLAYER?? And yes, they were lip synching. Where is the keyboardist? Nevertheless, one of the hottest videos ever to appear on RUclips.
But i thought it was Jimmy McCarty
Great medley of two classic songs. The dancers in front of the band are a distraction.
Good song, video not so much.
