Even though I suck at DIY I want to try that for mine when I get one. Except the food and water won't be diy... (maybe the water bottle but the only diy one I've seen is terrible)

For my hamster we actually made a home made cage using a new 3 leveled portable shelf then wrapped chicken wire around the 3 sides for 2 levels made a door for the 4 side and pull wood slices on the bottom edge so that the bedding will not fall out and we shredded paper as bedding then for hide out I used a yogurt container ( I placed the container upside down with the cap on and made a hole at the edge then put some "bedding" inside and lastly for the toys I took a paper towel roll made a few holes and I took flour and water mixed them up then put the flour water mix on a popsicle sticks stuck on some sunflower seeds or other treets
Wow that was a lot 💤

I am planning on making a completely diy cage (bin cage, diy houses etc.) and this series is a huge help, the wheel might not be the best for me as my hamster are housed in my bedroom but the "silent" spinners aren't too silent anyway so...

with this the best way to stop it rubbing is useing 2 bolts on the gap between the stand and wheel witch gives it more spacing and it won't run then ☺

Genius!!! I love it! You are so good.
I was in a pet store awhile ago just looking around. There was a family very interested in the Robos. I told them about my sweet Robo, Clementine. They started asking me questions. With watching your channel for so long, I could answer their questions and give some good advice. I told them about your channel and they were thrilled to know that there is such a great resource for them (and all of us). Thank you so much for helping us be better parents to our babies. ☺

Use a soldering iron to make your holes. How I make my holes for my water bottles in the bin I just make sure not to do it too big and I've yet to have any trouble with a ham chewing through it or anything but I like to keep the water bottles on the outside that way I can access them without disturbing them

You can use several washers or cut off a short tube of a plastic straw to provide some space between the wooden post and the plastic open wheel. A drop of mineral oil there at the bolt will help silence the open wheel.

I bought a flying saucer wheel for my Syrian hamster that I am going to be getting, but it only said medium and it didn't have a size measurement on it. Can i measure it at home or is it to big/small?

Thank you for this video!! I’ve made one, but it keeps falling... it unscrews itself and if I put it tight it doesn ‘t spin... any suggestions? Thank you so much, kisses from Portugal

Could you possibly sand down a little bit of inside of the wheel for grip?

Btw if you have a bin cage you can do the same thing on the bin and not on the wood.

My hamster Oreo is really nippy it's been over one month of tamming and we haven't got past the stage of going on to my hand. What shall I do? Also he is jumping up in the corners. Is that this normal?

Amie-emily Dodds maybe try taking your hamster out and just put him/her on your lap and pet your hamster for a bit:)
      hope this helped:))
