My Teddy Bear Syrian escaped sometime earlier today and I just found him under my bed. Almost cried when I saw his little ears under my bed. Hes currently in lockdown until I can figure out how to get him a safer cage. 😱😱
@Lololozi 123 when mine escaped I took a big piece of meat and putted it in the middle of the room (it had a strong smell) and after 4 mins he came out running to the meat. I didn't give him any as it wasn't safe but that works too
Do you have a bathtub? If so put the cage in there so if he does get out then he's just in the bathtub. Then close the door and you can figure out a way to fix. When my hamster escaped I put him in a extra bin we had (with his stuff) he stayed in their for a few days while we could fix his cage. Good luck!
@@solo_58312 We put him in a slightly smaller cage that we are pretty sure he cant escape from, and then put that inside his bigger cage. It's like hes in a little jail. Tonight we are setting up his old tank he used to be in a couple months ago. I tried upgrading him and he escaped. That'll teach me to do something nice! Lol
@@EspeonAndMew i mean honestly i am not the best when it comes to crafts so it took me 2 times to get it just right and i did not have much paint left so i went to the store the next day and got some then i painted it and it was alright

I’m gonna try making this!! I’ll update how it went when I’m done. UPDATE: It was an epic fail...The cardboard part was fun and pretty easy, but the tissue and flour part was a nightmare. Flour got everywhere and the tissue wouldn’t stick to the cardboard. I ended throwing it away but I kept the cardboard base and gave it to my mouse, he loves it! 🐺🐾🐁😊

Great DIY, I made this for my new Syrian called Olaf. I was wondering if you could do a DIY video of how you make your coloured shredded tissue, as I want to do some themed cages but can't always find the right nesting bits that I want.
Idea for the paint: you could make the same thing for the glue maybe slightly thinner and then just add mushed up fruit and veggies to add color and flavor for those chewers out there idk if this would work but it would add extra support and look cute

You can definitely dry it in the oven thats what i did. About 175° about 10 mins between each layer. Saves a bunch of time. The only downside is that it doesn't smell great in the oven. Other than that drying it in the oven is a good idea if you dont mind the mild smell

Hey Erin! I have a tip that you might wanna share with your fans.. I remember I once used toilet paper in my hamsters cage as a nesting material. She enjoyed the soft, cushiony material, but one morning I saw that my hamsters cheeks were swelled up, and had sores on them. I took her to a small pet vet immediately. The vet said that my hamster had toilet paper in her cheeks, and that she couldn’t get it out. Luckily, she recovered well. Sadly, a month later she passed at a young age. I just wanted to say this Just so nobody’s other hamster has the same issue! DONT USE TOILET PAPER!
Toilet paper is safe for hammies though. That wouldn't explain anything? Their cheeks are dry (because it keeps the food they transport from getting wet) so how did it stick?? Certain types of safe paper bedding are literally like ripped up toilet/tissue paper but in layers? My 3 hamsters loves nibbling on their toilet rolls (full complete toilet rolls I just put in) and they use it as bedding.
I'm using this idea but using the empty space the toilet roll creates and making a big cave like den and using the toilet roll to add more depth at the top
I want to make a version if this for valentines day, trying to think of ways I could make it into a heart shaped donut... if not, I'll just give it pink frosting and heart shaped sprinkles ;)
Sydney Taylor should be able to easily enough if you use a long 'tube' made from a3 card or a couple of a4 sheets stuck together, glue a couple of the rings together in the middle to make the top point, bend it into a heart shape and you could leave the bottom point open for the entrance (but make sure its still attached to the other side), just make sure you are keeping it in the heart shape as you do the paper mache... Hope I've explained that well enough for you to get what I mean lol, just thinking off the top of my head how i would do it
In your pet safe glue and paint video you mentioned store bought not all natural food coloring, if I'm just using it for sprinkles will it hurt my hammy? I don't want to hurt her but also I don't want to make a bunch of colors just to do sprinkles I will of course use all natural for the frosting and main parts, she is also not a big chewer.

I made this and instead of painting on the frosting and sprinkles I used ground up carrots and star shaped food pellets :) Hammie loves it

Pine shavings aren't a safe option for any small animal, if those are your only choices then you need to use paper :)
