Yay Mate Talk!! I got to smell Meander over this past week too and its amazing! Very interesting, light, slightly minty-ish too, like a mint gelato as well. Really nice! I dont have any Amouage fragrances yet due to the shelf space left in my room,. But this is definitely gonna be on my list of to-buy fragrances! Memo’s back on the featured lineup 🎉 Italian Leather’s really nice! But Iberian Leather’s a fave of mine. Sicilian Leather’s great too but my father destroyed the fragrance for me sadly 😭 cause he said it smelt stanky 😭😭

Iris obsessed. Iris Malikhan was my first iris fragrance too, what a stunner. Currently enjoying a 10ml decant of Meander, and would like to compare it with Lost Alice from Masque Milano (I hear they're quite similar and they were created by the same perfumer). Will have to give Black Iris another chance. I'm only now dipping my toes into Amouage and only sprayed black iris on paper and was immediately taken aback. It is very intense and too masculine for me, I felt. But I properly need to test it on skin and let that sharp opening air a bit, maybe it will grow on me like Overture woman did... Marcelo, I know we don't do designer on this channel (and in general) but -- in case you're not familiar with it, I highly recommend you try Dior Homme intense, which is absolutely unisex by the way... I was quite amazed when I first tried it.
Amouage is something you need to take a whole week with it. Do not test it on paper. It completely shies away from the beauty of it, The interlude DNA is resinous and sweet with some smoke, and it's beautiful, but amouage is very hard to come around to. So keep going and don't give up because I think and many others believe it is the best niche house with many very unique offerings
Yes, next time I'm in Myers (department store) I will check out Dior Homme intense, promise! And yes, your experience with Interlude Black Iris is no surprise🙄 This is a beast of a fragrance. Be prepared to be taken aback again as you spray on skin. I would recommend 1 light spray as it will linger for months😬 But! once you get the beauty of this fragrance, it will generate vibrant colour in your life. 34:33 I’ve had 2 similar expiriences. 1st one was I just bought my first niche frag, Terroni by Orto Parisi and that night I went to the club while wearing Terroni (it was more formal clubbing setting, we were dressed up a bit) and oh boy I’ve noticed some people looking at me and I couldn’t figure out whether I was repulsive or people enjoyed the smell and kept looking at me😂 2nd time I was at my cousin’s wedding and I wore Promise by Frederic Malle, challenging frag but very beautiful and also I’ve noticed a lot of people were looking at me. My scent probably killed everyone else’s frags or smells of food😅 but I at least I got a compliment Both times I’ve enjoyed the scent I was wearing and that’s most important and to others that I may had choked out.. you survived😂

My personal favourite Iris/orris is Iris Silver Mist from Serge Lutens to me it's easily the best orris out there, although I know it can be very difficult to find outside of their Boutique in Paris. I do however think that La Pausa from Chanel is also very close in terms of the quality and execution of the iris note. If you do ever go back to the Serge Lutens Boutique in Paris I would strongly recommend picking up a bell jar of Iris Silver Mist despite the minor inconvenience of the bell jar being a dabber instead of a spray.
Great video Marcelo. I skiped first half since i did not want to see any spoilers about dune 2. I do respect iris in perfumery. However, as a man i do think that iris note is super polarizing. Love or hate, unfortunately, i am on the hate side. My trip to Paris went well, i enjoyed the city and got some new acqusitions. Have a great week🎉

speaking of iris and being a tropical country in the summer atm, i recommend Christele Jacquemin's Enlightenment which is a lemony-orris, that does kinda smell cold lemons. atm i can't detect much difference between orris and iris. is it that orris more buttery and iris is more dry?
I love the sound of this blend for Christele Jacquemin's Enlightenment....I'm going to have to hunt this one down as we don't have it in Australia; I'm intrigued by the lemon/orris combination. My understanding is that Iris is in fact = Orris. There's no extraction of the petals. It's about about the bulb. The various facets to the scent is via the extraction method and where it comes from. Yep I hear you Faouzi.....I was trying to isolate the clear 'Iris' (Orris) note in the fragrance. Where it makes a statement in the perfume. I find that in Reflection Man it's part of the ensemble and the real hero is the Sandalwood, along with those earlier aromatic/herbal notes. Agree/Disagree? Your thoughts homie🧐

I wouldn't. There's a lot a white florals in it which annoy some people. Also it would be an easier sell to your dad if you buy a cheap decant first, instead of a full bottle & get the full bottle later if you like wearing it
For me I sampled, and it is one of the best summer fragrances for sure, it is lemon and mint and just super fresh and juicy I think it is an easy blind buy and worth the price. But renaissance is also another amazing summer scent and you can find it for cheaper and itll be 100 ml,
I've come to discover that 'everything will find its way to you in time'....Don't sweat not being able to get Torino 21 at this time; you'll see that it will find its way to you regardless. Ah yes, BIG MISTAKE🤦🏽♂️ the full story behind this decision to wear 'beast mode' on a plane was that 2 days prior (I was also traveling) and I sprayed on another fragrance that I thought was going to hang around but with all my movements etc it was gone in no time....."I know! I'll spray Black Iris!!"😬 Won't be doing that again! I killed the poor lady next to me😵💫

Black Iris was my favourite. Until Royal Tobacco arrived💥💥💥 Black Iris is a bit more versatile
When I say Iris, I mean Dior Homme Parfum. That fragrance deserves a luxury bottle and a 300$ price tag.

Yep I hear you Faouzi.....I was trying to isolate the clear 'Iris' (Orris) note in the fragrance. Where it makes a statement in the perfume.
I find that in Reflection Man it's part of the ensemble and the real hero is the Sandalwood, along with those earlier aromatic/herbal notes.

I tried the 45 version once and it was more rich and deep imo.
Any thoughts on the 45 version and which one do you prefer? It’s on my to-buy list of the month and i have some doubts between the two. I will take your recommendation on this as i trust you taste homie 🙈

I wouldn't. There's a lot a white florals in it which annoy some people. Also it would be an easier sell to your dad if you buy a cheap decant first, instead of a full bottle & get the full bottle later if you like wearing it
For me I sampled, and it is one of the best summer fragrances for sure, it is lemon and mint and just super fresh and juicy I think it is an easy blind buy and worth the price. But renaissance is also another amazing summer scent and you can find it for cheaper and itll be 100 ml,
I've come to discover that 'everything will find its way to you in time'....Don't sweat not being able to get Torino 21 at this time; you'll see that it will find its way to you regardless. Plus it'll give you the chance to enjoy the awesome collection that you seem to have (well at least according to your dad😉)

Ah yes, BIG MISTAKE🤦🏽♂️ the full story behind this decision to wear 'beast mode' on a plane was that 2 days prior (I was also traveling) and I sprayed on another fragrance that I thought was going to hang around but with all my movements etc it was gone in no time....."I know! I'll spray Black Iris!!"😬
