    In norwegian we say "blank" as shorthand for any round number. "40 blank" in this case would mean forty meters exactly. But you could just as easily said that "he ran from point A to point B in 40 blank", and in that case it would mean forty seconds. So saying [round number] blank is dependant on contextual clues.

      @@NeilTalks Saying "ti blank" (ten 'blank') is literally the same as saying "ten seconds flat" :)

      Same in swedish, but with a "t" at the end; 40 blankt.

    13:37 Kim's Game is a game made to improve your memory. You have a bunch of stuff in front of you and you need to memorize them, then they get covered up by something like a blanket and one or more items get removed. You then need to say the names of the item(s) that have been taken away. It's common to play in kindergartens or in the boy/girl scouts. Some places they do have it in school as well and it can get pretty funny and challenging.

    Love this show regardless of country 😂 The displays of creativity!
    Food. Not food. But I quite liked Mash/Smash/Burn also.
    I would have made a 2d sorting based on density on one axis, and color on the other.

    There's a chinese monk who runs a very long distance on very thin planks floating in the water. That's the first thing I thought of

    Loving this season. The cast is great. Only thing missing in these 7 episodes so far is a team task :(

    I love that you like my dear neighbours show "Kongen befaler". Swedish "Bäst i test" is not as good.

    Are you going to do Finlands version of taskmaster after this series?

    the subtitles are autogenerated right?

    • @NeilTalks
      @NeilTalks  2 года назад +4

      I don't believe so... There are multiple times when jokes are explained (rhymes, synonyms etc.) or units are converted, so there's definitely a human influence. But I don't think the translator has particularly strong english, especially when it comes to colloquialisms and idioms. But it somehow adds to the charm of the show. :)

    The only issue here is the lack of properly done subtitles

    "Mansplaining" isn't a real thing. Anyone can explain something condescendingly, regardless of your gender.

      Thanks for explaining that for all of us, Cyrus!

    I thought mansplaining had to be directed towards a female. Else it's just explaining

    • @CucumberpatchAddict
      @CucumberpatchAddict 2 года назад +8

      Imo, the main thing about mansplaining is not the genders involved, it's that one assumes the other person is less knowledgeable than them without bothering to ask. The term just suggests that it's an overwhelmingly male behavior, but there sure are some ladies who can mansplain to god how heaven works
