If you're wondering, the crossword really did appear in a national newspaper. Steve really went above and beyond for many of his prize tasks/presents for greg

You might remember, aaaaaaaaaaaall tne way back at the beginning of Series 3, Sara Pascoe brought in a clock of Freddie Mercury that sne said she originally got for her boyfriend. That boyfriend was John (it didn’t work out). He just really, really loves Queen.

I came to the comments section just to write about this little fun fact. Don't know if it has been mentioned in previous episodes. Before this series I only knew John from the mock the week episodes he did with Sara.

You absolutely have to watch Inside Number 9 to see more of Steve Pembertons brilliance. Its honestly one of the most well written jaw dropping shows you'll ever watch. There's even an episode all about Cryptic crosswords which will blow your mind

You need to watch the channel ‘Cracking The Cryptic’ where Simon takes you through solving Steve Pemberton’s cryptic crossword that he did (just for your own interests of course). I loved seeing both sides of this moment with the reveal he had created a crossword and the actual solve with Simon figuring out the hidden message :D

Steve Pemberton stars in a cryptic crossword themed episode of Inside No. 9 (S03E03, The Riddle of the Sphinx) which is definitely worth watching as it's also one of the best episodes!

Apparently he constructed the Guardian’s cryptic crossword on that day as well. When his Taskmaster cryptic was published, also under the pseudonym Sphinx, people suspected that Steve was appearing on TM.

Joanne and Sophie genuinely thought and called them presents. It was almost a spoiler when Joanne repeatedly called them presents in the Episode 5 podcast.

Regarding Taskmaster AU, series 1 was amazing. I think the Tom Gleeson is really a great Taskmaster. He's more acerbic and witty. They've recorded 3 series, but are airing series 2 and 3 in reverse order.

Joe Wilkinson was in series 2.
In addition to 'Potatogate', that series included the 'create a music video for a nursery rhyme' task, in which Doc Brown chose the nursery rhyme you didn't recognise when Steve quoted it during set-up for this episode's Thumb War task.

As has been mentioned, Inside number 9 is a great anthology show. The episode relative to Steve's crossword skills is called "The Riddle of the Sphinx" it is series 3 episode 3. With it being an anthology show, each episode is completely separate so trying this one alone would be no problem. I think this episode would be right up your ally. ENJOY

I don’t mind when you get round to all of the back logged TM content. Just think of all the videos we’re gonna get out of it, whenever that ends up being. Also I believe they had rum at house for Joanne's attempt that was left over from the gloves task. I think they shot those on the same day for her.
