I reordered a set of these coaster molds from Amazon, identical order, but the second batch were deeper than the first. I have to use the right ones together, and limits me to four the same when I pour. I like how these turned out. Elegant.
Isn’t that crazy they come that way? Go figure. I got my second set and they were the same as the first so now I have four for my set👍 Thank you Margaret😊
Those are so beautiful. I can never get mine to bloom like that. I know I'm new at resin but I don't know why mine never look anything like that. Help!
Letting your resin set for about five minutes before you put your colors in helps it not spread so much. And then you don’t have to hit it much at all with the heat gun. Just a little tiny bit. That might help because that was my big problem in the beginning. Thank you Cecilia
Those are stunning Sherri! Love the glitter! Gonna get down to 20 degrees here tonight 🙄 Had a little dusting of snow again last night and it’s not November yet! Stay safe sweet lady 🥰

I use acetone or 91% rubbing alcohol. Dump out as much resin as you can then shake the alcohol in the bottle real real good and soak the tips in some alcohol👍 Thank you ☺️
Yes, I should have mentioned that. I usually tape off the bottom. And put a topcoat. I have an extra heat resistant and scratch resistant resin to protect it. Otherwise the marker would just come off when washed after a few times. And if I’m not going to pour an extra coat of protection I will simply dip my finger in a little bit of resin and go around the sides very lightly to protect the marker. Thank you Carol👍
@@sherrislife2046 thank you. Do you mind sharing what heat resistance resin you use? I usually make tumblers so I am familiar with resin, just starting to get into molds and coasters. Love your work BTW.
Hi Sherri. I'm sorrry I have another question for you. What do you use to sand any mistakes. I tried using that wet sandpaper, but it takes forever. I also have a dremel and I used that and it works good at getting the sanding done but it then leaves white where you sanded. I have learned one thing...don't make mistakes LOL. What do you use?
It all depends upon how bad it is. I will use flint polish and then buff the heck out of it. But if it’s a real bad one I will cover the bottom with some tape or something and pour a topcoat of resin on them. Then I just Peel off the tape on the bottom and that’s it. Many times a topcoat will correct everything. Thank you
These are gorgeous 😍. You've definitely nailed the flower technique😀. The black background with the glitter was a very good choice ( in my opinion ), really makes the flowers pop. Well done 😀. Those moulds are for agate type coasters, so I wonder if two are meant to be thicker maybe, just because in real life they wouldn't be the same exact thickness? Just a thought. I have several sets of similar moulds and a couple of mine are also slightly thicker. Could just be bad design also as cheaper moulds 😅. Going to email you later with some pics. You can be honest, I won't be offended.
Great video Sherri, I think I may do those colours for a set for my brother. I like the 3d effect and pattern for the floral look. Can I ask a couple of questions please? 1.You had you white resin in little bottle ( I have some) but how do you clean them out, or do you just chuck them. Cleaning out tubs etc is such a messy job! 2. Do you know how to stop the centre diamonte, or any other embellishment, from shifting after you've put them to one side to cure? Any advice would be helpful, thank you.
I think they would be awesome for your brother. Great colors. Having the place where you let them cure be completely level is very very important of course. My problem is always carrying it over to that level area than they shift on me. I will fix it and then somehow they always go back LOL but just not moving around a lot and 100% level area will keep them from moving. It’s not that hard to clean up the bottles as long as you drain out as much resin as possible as fast as possible. And as long as you use 91% alcohol and shake real good. I just fill the bottle up halfway and shake and then I dumped it out and fill it back up again halfway and shake. That usually does it. I soak the caps in a cup of alcohol and stir for a few minutes. The 50% alcohol doesn’t clean it that well and I have let it sit just too long before so I have chucked a few bottles. I usually dump the rest of the resin out into something like another mold to just make something out of it. But do it quick.. Unless you’re good with a piping bag. I’m just not good with those things. Thank you 👍
