    I love how you simplified the process and explained the products you used. Sometimes I get confused whether I should use pigment, pigment paste or colorant!!

      @Summer Girl Designs Yeh and that your resin should be thick. Usually you get people saying they check the temperature of it but it's so much clearer knowing that your resin has to be thick and so it works better.

    I've never worked with resin before and I'm about to start making coasters and such... I have a few questions: 1. When/why to use viscosity resin opposed to regular? 2. I don't have that kind of mask that you have on in this video. Do I have to wear it or any mask will do? Is it that potent to work with? 3. When you outline the coasters with the gold acrylic marker if a client washes the coasters will it scratch off? (from another video I've watched from you) 4. Do you always use a heat-resistant top coat... Also I wanted to tell you how amazing and talented you are I truly admire your work!! **sorry for all the questions I'm new to this and thank you!

      The fumes can knock you out so I do suggest you wait until you have all your tools. You can find this mask in a hardware, Home Depot or even on Amazon.
      All the best!

    • @SummerGirlDesigns
      @SummerGirlDesigns  3 года назад +2

      Thank you! I agree to make sure to have all of the safety equipment first! The fumes may not be visible but they are still there and may cause long-term damage to your lungs. Some people work without a mask if they have a well ventilated space, but I still believe safety should come first. We use different viscosities depending on which effect we want to achieve. (Low viscosity for striations, high viscosity for 3d flowers, you can see some of my other videos). We usually add several layers of the gold marker and advise for people to clean their coasters by gently wiping them with a damp cloth. And yes, we always add a protective top coat! Hope this helps 😊

    Hello Nadia. I watch your videos again and again. Im new to resin craft. I tried doing this flower and it was a flop! Im from the Philippines and materials are very expensive. May I pls ask how much in total of resin and hardener do i need for a 3 tiered cake stand. Over here, ratio is 2:1. If I waste resin i will really feel so bad. I hope you can help me. Pls send my regards to your mom. You are both awesome!

    Hi, i am new to resin art, i tried doing this twice, but my white resin is not blooming like yours; mine it's a low viscosity resin, so i waited till it got thicker (till it reached 40°C) , then poured, made the white , but it's not blooming... can you please tell me what could be the possible reason/reasons? My white resin mixture seems to deposit at the bottom the moment I am pouring it...is my resin getting cured too fast? The complete settings time this resin is taking for small coasters is around 4-6 hrs. My room temperature is 30°C,

    Beautiful! My challenge is measuring the correct amounts and making sure my levels are even in width. Any suggestions?

    • @SummerGirlDesigns
      @SummerGirlDesigns  2 года назад

      Thank you! It can be tricky, but I do my best to keep an eye on the resin while I’m pouring into each mold and try to pour the same amount. Then I also check by seeing where the resin came up to on the mold and comparing it to the others and adding more to those that may need it. Hope this helps 😊

    Though they are really very beautiful but why to use them? They are too costly. And one can use tissue papers which is quite affordable .
    Are they non breakable. ??

    How about you start the flower drips from outside the mold so that you can continue the clean lines inside and the initial drops will be outside the frame and can be wiped off?
