      Bruhh, this is not sketchy, it worked.. Also, it's explode once because I turned the power on/off really fast at the same times.. Probably the power supply is just shit, old and probably gonna die on it own anyway.. Maybe.. So yeah.. Thanks for the vids.. I learned a lot.. Just make sure it is not over 12V I guess..

    I tortured the shit out of a 550 watt Coolermaster doing this, tying all the yellow and black rails together. I was pushing an amp with a 90 amp fuse hold and two 15 inch Kicker L7's, and I wasn't going easy on the system. Coolermaster PSU's dude. Coolermaster. the 550 watt Coolermaster PSU was doing the job of a 1000 watt PSU. still works to this day.

    The concept is good, but using a single wire yellow and black wire is not of appropriate gauge to safely deliver the current the power supply can deliver. Tying all the yellow wires together and all the black wires together, as shown in other videos, effectively provides a much larger gauge conductor to the car amp which would be much safer. As a side note, computer power supplies show how much current the +12v rail can supply. The safest thing to do would be to use a power supply that can deliver more current (amps) than the fuse (or total of fuses if the car amp has multiple) on the car amp to ensure the power supply will not be stressed and can provide all the power the car amp could need. Just a couple thoughts. Thanks for the video.

    I think a power converter would be better to use instread of this pc power supply. I 'm sure that a 100-200watt 110V-220V AC / 1.5V-12V DC at 10A LED tape power converter will play this amplifier beautifully and unfold its power to the maximum.

    U need AT LEAST a power supply with 30 amps on the 12 volt line, I have been doing this for years and it works well. Cheap light weight power supplies will not handle any high amp draws, get one thats heave with lots of amps...Enermax power supplies work well .

    for light bass and low volume your power supply setup is fine, but if you need to crank it up you need a 750W single rail 12V PSU and a beefy 1 Farad Capacitor to take up the current surges. a good alternate is a not less than 2SM car battery and an automotive charger. considering the cost of all the abovementioned car amp is not practical for home use.

    • @_Ciosu..
      @_Ciosu.. 2 года назад

      Hi, sorry it's been a long time since I used that setup, using PC power supply is much more easier.. But with a laptop cable, I think it cut off at the end after that box looking thing of that cable.. It should be two wire in there, then you connect it to your amplifier.. From all of my experience back from 2 years ago, most amplifier or car mp3 required 12V of power.. So, using computer power supply is easier cause they're all mostly 12V wire.. You can even run it with your PC if you have the 12V wire extension ( like for a PC fans ).. That box from laptop cable is I believe a transformer, that I guess transform the current to 12V but I'm not sure cause my amplifier just stop working, lol.. So now I'm using a car mp3 and a PC power supply.. Hope you understand my explanation, have a good day.. Ohh btw, this video help me learned a lot about this.. Credit to that 👍🏻👏🏻

    Ground wire the overflow of the electricity to the earth from the wire like a lighting pole in any circumstances do not connect Ground to the amplifier again it could damage you amp
    And in some cases it might explode and even damage the speakers

  • @Joaquin77
    @Joaquin77 7 лет назад

    i would check the recommended input values for the amp like Voltage and Amps. and compare it to the power supply's output values to avoid frying something. It's like cellphones and chargers.. your cell phone tells you what type of charger it needs, they may look the same but they throw different amps values. that's why cell phones don't charge or get too hot, the Amps have a lot to do with it.

    FYI, Green WIRE, not fucking CABLE... also, for anyone who dont know shit about stuff like this. check the car amp fuse. if its a for example 500W car amp that has 50A fuse, get at least a 600+W PSU (good quality one, not any no-brand garbage!) with at least 60A on +12V to get most of the car amp. if you use weak and cheap PSU's you will blow the fuck off the damn voltage regulators and burn our house down...(or damage the amp) Also quality brand PSU's have protection for short circuit or overload and all that crap, so if you use a quality PSU and something goes wrong, the PSU will shut off to protect it self and everything connected to it.

      not only do you need to match the power but you also need to account for the unused power on the 5v rails etc and deduct or rather just find out how much current can be output from the 12v rails you are using as a 145w supply might only output eg a 100 watts on the 12v rail you are using and 45w on 5v which you are not using and there is 3.3v as well

      this is possibly a fire hazard but mostly comical.
      if anybody is serious about running bad ass car audio in the house you need coverter not an inverter , then you can watt for watt juice up big car amps I the house.

      Dude power your amp with a 12v inverter or a car battery charger or a charged car battery. Any 12v source will do

    that's a great way to set ur house on fire power wires way too small that amp needs way more amps then that power supply can put out plus u should have ran ur speakers in series to get 4 ohms then bridge the amp you have no idea what ur doing plus every time u Trun it off the amps going to shut down on low voltage because u jumped the remote to hot not smart

    Can you advice please thank in advance

    • @infrasonicrebasses4763
      @infrasonicrebasses4763 6 лет назад

      you may need a headunit but if your system shuts off you may need a bigger power supply to power the headunit AND still have enough amps for your amplifier to play

    • @djsoundzentertainment42
      @djsoundzentertainment42 6 лет назад

      Adjust the amplifers gain control after first turning up the source of music you are using like a phone, or tablet, ect. Once the gain is set, leave it alone and control volume with device.

    • @infrasonicrebasses4763
      @infrasonicrebasses4763 6 лет назад

      yeah but you will need a headunit to push the volume on the amplifier itself otherwise you only getting a quarter of your full volume no matter what device heck sometimes even less in some devices for eg monitor screen doesn't push much volume as a sound card does in a computer

    • @djsoundzentertainment42
      @djsoundzentertainment42 6 лет назад

      @@infrasonicrebasses4763 No. The signal comes from a phone, CD player, or whatever source you're using and the amplifiers job is to amplify the signal. Using a head units RCA's is the same as using a phone or CD player as the music source. Not sure why you think you need a head unit but you sure don't.

      because you won't be getting full volume...because here is what i have i got my car audio amp and car audio sub right and i have this 7amp DC power supplier right so its wired up with 8 gauge wires and all hooked up so when the DC power supplier is turned on the amp turns on but there is no ground so when you turn it off the sub would make a loud pop noise but an easy way to avoid this is just put a switch on the positive wire the copper one so just switch it off then turn off the power supplier and no pop sound...but now here is the thing while i have the amp working and the sub plays the sub somehow gets some midsy sounds kinda close to voices yah know and well hmmmm the sub isn't playing very loud as it did in the car and it don't even move as much as it did in the car so thats why i said all those about a head unit.. first you need a good power source for EG my amplifier fuses are 2 25fuses so a total of 50amps so therefore i may need about 50amps right AND a headunit with at least 4 volts to push the volume..kinda like a receiver yah know like them stereo system...its basically something JUST like that so the volume can be pushed more closer to the real amount of output you SHOULD be getting...do you understand what i mean there ??

    I also want to know is 3 ohm impedance ok for a car amp?

    • @gdowdy
      @gdowdy 7 лет назад +1

      depends on the amp. If its a mono sub amp 2-4 is usually ok. multi channel usually 2-6

    • @shasashu
      @shasashu 7 лет назад +1

      GTaero ok. thanks

    • @kenroberts3687
      @kenroberts3687 7 лет назад +1

      depends on the amp you use I have one that will go down to 2 ohm
      and a mono block sub amp that will do .5 ohm

      Seems how most cheap car amplifiers run 4 ohms stereo, or 2 ohms stereo, or 4 ohms mono bridged into one channel, Yes you can.

      Yoshi YT no an this guy's vid sucks then wires are to small an that power supply doesn't have enough amps I have the same set up but used a 700 watt power supply an cut all the skinny wires out an put in 8 gauge wire

    • @djsoundzentertainment42
      @djsoundzentertainment42 6 лет назад

      Not getting the required amperage from the power supply you are using. If your amplifier comes with two 30 amp fuses or something like that, a pc power supply may not run it. You would need something about 12-14 volts with at least 60 amps constant to run the amplifier at a high volume. Better off running it off a car battery with a battery charger connected to maintain the battery's charge during use.
