- The effect is also called exponential scaling, or hyperzoom perhaps.
This was actually the first time I worked in After Effects...

I forgot to mention that this was the first time I used After Effects 😁 But this was the last animation I made.
Graph editors are a pain when you first use them for sure
😁
What did you use for the other animations? Fusion?
@@Filtersloth Actually also After Effects. Fusion is not great.. But Resolve is ;-)
@@lazyposy oh I guess I misunderstood.
this is the first time you used after effects, but the last animation you've done? did you use another animation software before?
I use after effects, but I've never used Fusion. it looks even more confusing than AE.
Ah yes, you can always count on Adobe to make the most frustrating software
You must be one of his patreons
finally someone posting the raw adobe experience
Yup this was as cathartic as it was frustrating
Ah so the way you got the flawless hyperzoom was through a lot of hard work 💪 thank you for posting this. How it's made, is my favorite type of video 🎉
never had a problem with eggheadposy, i wanna note that before i continue watching the video lolol soerrysoerry
“Silly computer, would you please stop helping?”
It's faster to select both keyframes and hit F9 to ease them automatically. Then you can go into the graph editor with the property selected and drag the handles. It's also easier to double click the points in the graph editor and set the influence in terms of percent, that lets you set influence in each direction (incoming or outgoing) independently without having to wrangle the annoying bezier handles.
Thanks, I'll try to remember that 🤯
@@lazyposyThere’s also a really handy free plugin called EasyCopy. Allows you to select one or multiple key frames with easing, copy the ease, then paste on to any other keyframes. WHY this isn’t stock I don’t know.
@@memethanYT Why? Because Adobe.
Shame the shirt isnt for sale... maybe one day? One can hope
Great video, thanks for showing the process! It's very interesting to me, and i love the humor
Honestly, as a guy in his twenties whose hairline has started to recede, I've *also* taken to wearing a hat. A big favorite is a Weird Al hat I got at a Weird Al concert, his Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour stuff
Saying that the t-shirt isn't for sale because it's shitty and too expensive, is such comedy gold. It's like the complete opposite of what any RUclips creator would say. 😆
I like the egghead better than the cap. Also, this seems like _a lot_ of work and not lazy at all…
"This thingy to this thingy" was the moment I reminded myself to like this video 🤣
I don't think you're getting the hang of "lazy". This looked like a lot of work!
I'm so glad you posted this! I was wondering how these shots were made.
Was looking forward to this video as soon as I saw that zoom!
dots was a very good video, i loved it
Wait... That's not lazy at all !
Thank you for this! Was hoping you would make something like this.
also, the beret looks good :)
It's more of a newsboy cap than a beret, but he could definitely pull it off.
aha, you said automation instead of keyframes which I find quite funny
for those who don't know, using a digital audio workstation, automations are basically keyframes but for parameters related to the instruments in a daw
I love the way you storytell.
This made me laugh so much. Never change! :)
the zoom effect was so sick I was wondering how you did it. btw this video is not lazy enough
THANKS BRO IT WORKED!
The hat DOES look very nice!
thanks posy so cool !
Cute laugh at the outro blooper
Nah, your egg head looks iconic)))
That is the most dutch hat I can think of
Thanks for sharing how you did this. I always wondered :)
I'm going to try this in Motion.
Nice hat!
I'd love to buy one those shirts.
Lol I love you Posy
Fellow Davinci user!
Software companies should focus on making software less crappy, rather than absurdly maximizing their profits to the extreme.
Epic video but what does the name "Posy" mean? Does it even have a meaning?
How did you come up with it?
Would love to know
you totally could've animated that in davinci resolve, it's what i use for everything.
good website
LOOKS NICE, RIGHT?!
I feel like this would’ve been way easier if you had generated the image with GIMP’s “Newsprint” filter, instead of using real-life photos
I kind of knew how you did the effect, but I thought you had something more streamlined than doing it all by hand
ah, i just love the song that starts playing in the outro at 10:25, but i cant remember from where it was, does anyone remember the name?
Sell that hat in your web shop too. Mine recently wore out.
Bro If you are lazy, then I must exist at zero kelvin
Davinci Resolve is best
DR FTW!
Now if only transparent PNGs worked in a way that made sense...
yooo
Egg
11:16 Dr. Eggman
haha what happened at 1:53

am here for the head, if i don't see the head, unsubscribe. i like the lazy channel better, perfect is the enemy of head
give us the egg back
After Effects always sucks. So does Premiere. So does Photoshop.
Actually all Adobe software sucks.
Is your day a little bit better now?
@@Alpha-1-Omega no, I still have to deal with Adobe After Effects.
@@xmlthegreat I feel for you man! I haven't opened those programs for more than a year or so.
AE is such a shitshow. I assume you're running on a somewhat decent PC, and it already struggles zooming a few still pictures...
In all fairness, when I tried to do this in Resolve (Fusion) it was unworkably slow, and for making animations AE is the better choice even though it all seems a bit illogical to me. It's in 4k and the pics are even bigger 🙂
@@lazyposy I'm seeing this from a programmer's perspective, and these are rather simple operations.
Anyway, the sluggish speed makes everything even more frustrating than it needs to be.
It looks nice
