Totally agree. Already established knowledge of fishing, hunting and gathering skills has to start early, but making them survive for days at 14 is perfect. I definitely needed this way of learning but got stuck living with my mother just like my half brothers who were older. I got a little lucky moving to a rural area with forests North of Sydney Australia and learned from older boys and their fathers. My father was a good man, however I didn’t get to know him well. Racing a Catamaran with him from 12-14 was a great experience, unfortunately I got tired of the travel every Sunday and quit for my trail bike addiction in local trails.
