Hi guys - had just same problem om my Insigina 2009 cdti. It was the timing belt that has jumped a tooth. We moved it a tooth and turned it by hand. But it could not turn, then we moved it a tooth to the octer direction instead and i started immidiately. But after 4 days it did thd sam again - jumped a tooth and could not start. The Rot Cause was a not in on of the timing belt wheels that was damaged. Ater repacing the wheel and set tve timing belt in correct position it running smoothly! Best Regards Henrik
Not enough derv being squeezed out of that High Pressure fuel pump so as others have stated fuel pump top end cam belt driven or Fuel filter, check fuel lines also. I have a vauex 2.0 cdti for ref
I purchased a non running car. Checked fuel entering car which was poor. Topped up with diesel, it started. Plugged autel in and pulled faults, crankshaft sensor, cylinder no 2 glow plug sensor. Runs good. Did live data and fuel pressure sensor was showing in red wrong readings.
Did you check fuel filter ? Ive got similar prob car starts from cold but won't restart when hot unless I prime fuel pump 3 or 4 times, changed fuel filter which was dirty but still doing it . removed filter an was blocked again . but started same problem again may have to remove filter again an clean. Did you cure the problem ??
I have similar problem on vauxhall meriva 1.7cdti but I can start car on could engine when reach 90 degrees engine I don't can start any more I need waiting cooling down. But on hot engine if you push car start fine. Ecu check, injectors , fuel pump, filters, pipes check. Can be on exhaust pipe temperature sensors?
@@safisafi7338 no , i think the problem are the high fuel pump .if you solve the problem with changing the pump please tell me because i wanna know . i cannot go to the service because i can't turn on the car and i want to solve this car on my own! sorry if I write wrong, I don't speak english very well, I hope you understand!
@@mrmihai6057 ok thanks . Yes I think so . I’m fixing also my self . I will send you the video . Diesel come to injector if I open the pipes . I think not much pressure from the diesel pump
I got mechanic to do back brakes on my insignia an since then not starting. Turn over but no start. Any advice? I Think hes done something so it not start cus i brought for a good price n he is hating on me cus am helping him out with work on car n a van n paying the cunt so its work but car fully worked before he got his hands onit
Did anyone find an easy fix for this? my car recenty did the same. fuel runs good, and engine has only about 230.000 km, and all service ok. and all of a sudden, the car wont start :(
@@mrmihai6057 i think the issue was the egr valve. Changed that and it was running perfect. Be aware of bad turbo also. Short after i changed the egr , the turbo died on me while drivning and nearly killed the entire engine
@@honestusstudio i put a mechanic to verify my car with obd2 and he say the egr valve isn't working properly , it work to open / close but does not work when it should . Anyway , i am not mechanic and i don't understand what what is the role of the egr valve when starting . Thanks for the answer!
@@deckajones6866 I'm doing mine now. It will be high pressure fuel regulator, fuel pump or sensor.. Fuel filter. Get the pressure tested on the fuel rail to Start with, remove and clean the high pressure regulator change fuel filter, then test high pressure fuel out put.

Definitely Sounds like a fuel related issue It’s probably more on the fuel pump and level sensor side of things. Hope this helps.
Egr valve could be stuck open, dont always get a fault code, or engine warning light,
Did u find the problem
hi mate did you find the problem?
What was the issue? Hope you solved it
Did you fix this?
Mine started this yesterday, what was the issue with yours. I've put new battery deisel filter on & 4 new pressure plugs
High power regulator or sensor or fuel pump
Im dealing with similar problem. Was it High Pressure Fuel Pump yes? This thing costs 1400e just for the part only for Christ sake :(

I have this very same issue have you sorted this yet
Clogged up fuel filter?
Glow plugs?
Air filter clogged up?
Got good compression?
Is the timing still on?

rimgaudas klezys compression issue.
@@rimgaudasklezys7946 I have exactly the same issue on my car as you described. Did you find out what the issue was?
@@robertmoores7829 What work needs to be done if it's a compression issue?
1234 4321 let’s just say it would be cheaper to get a new engine
How did you fix it ?
Try putting whiff in the air intake see if it starts on that
OBD code doesn't work on the scan tool you need to look into factory scan data to get codes
Assuming that you checked the fuel system, the EGR valve could be faulty.
Did you get the insignia running, I have the same/similar issue. Cheers
Have you fix it? i have the same problem

Could be ,a number of things ,
Even something as the battery
Crank sensor ,
I've had it ,where the starter pulls to many amps ,cutting off the electrical system ,not allowing the pump valves to open
sounds like it needs new starter. New starter fixed my problems
Wow using your fingers on the injector pipe while cranking
Your lucky it ain't at full pressure
