    Hello ma'am, thanks for these videos. I've been doing a marathon from your 1st video until somewhere in the middle. And i came to your latest video just to ask some question.
    I'm a mechanical engineering student. I don't want it. I entered this major because in my country, here only 1 university that has aerospace engineering major, and I failed to pass the test. Turns out I entered a campus with mechanical engineering major. I hate it, it's so automotive and machine is too broad. Machine and strctural concept is everywhere and also consist of completely different principle.
    My question is, is it possible for someone to self taught aerospace engineering? Without hardware facility (of course i don't have wind tunnel in my house, turbine engine in my bedroom, or machinaries to produce aeroplane), i'm sure i won't be able to pursue a very much technical job in the field. But.... what if I spend a lot in learning softwares like flow simulation and things related to aerodynamic? Is it really possible? I mean, self taught doesn't give me degree. But i hope this self learning still can give me a kind of aerospace engineering in my future......
    Sorry for my bad english. I hope u get what i was saying. Thank you :) i learn a lot from your channe;

  • @OpelsiSq
    @OpelsiSq Год назад

    I wonder if its possible for a math major to learn all of the missing subjects by themselves and pass certification or some sort of exam to get a job in this field. Like, alot of math and vector topics you just mentioned i already studied in our more dense Calculus classes (in a russian university btw).

    • @OpelsiSq
      @OpelsiSq Год назад

      Also a lot of orbital mechanics i know after watching so many videos on youtube and playing KSP, but i understand this is very basic underestanding, proper courses would teach me much better. I even made my Bachelor Thesis a simulation of Solar System with planets moving according to real physics and not just in circles.

    Awesome video. Hey i want to ask how to apply as a non US citizen or foreign student? What universities want (like if students have to specially good at particular thing) in their foreign students? Which subjects should i be good in high school to apply in US based universities undergrad program?

    • @AliyaBurkit
      @AliyaBurkit  4 года назад

      That's a really good question. Applying to a US university is a whole different story if you want to get some scholarship or stipend.
      But generally, you need good enough grades in school, maybe better grades math and physics, but you also need to take tests, such as SAT and TOEFL, and after that you need to write a convincing essay, where you would show how you're a good fit for the university. Basically, you need to stand out from other applicants somehow. Maybe you have a side project or volunteering experience. You have to show them that you're really interested in this field, and would do this even if you don't go to university

      @@AliyaBurkit Thanks a lot. It really helps me. Also what bout scholarships? What should one have to get scholarships? How are scholarships given? based on SAT marks or side projects or based on your family income?

    • @AliyaBurkit
      @AliyaBurkit  4 года назад

      Usually they don't give scholarships to non-citizens. So you have to look for universities that have an option of full scholarship. Sometimes it's income based, sometimes it's based on how much they like you as a prospective student.

    How high school student can start their journey to become aerospace engineering??

    • @AliyaBurkit
      @AliyaBurkit  3 года назад

      Just study well and try to become part of engineering or design group at your school. Some schools have automotive programs, where you create an electric(or any other) car and compete with pther school groups. That type of experience will help you get in the university cheaper (or even with scholarship)
