- Three people were injured after police said their dog attacked them when they tried to dress him in a sweater in Tampa, Florida. The pit bull mix dog, named Scarface, bit its owner and two other family members. The injuries from the dog attack were not life threatening. The family got the dog about a month before the attack.
When Animal Control and Tampa Police arrived to the home, the dog was shot with a tranquilizer gun. After the dog got into the house, where there were two children in the back room, officers deployed a bean bag gun and taser to subdue the dog. Eventually, the dog was captured by Animal Control by using a "catch pole."

scarface was a rescue from an abusive home. the family owned the dog for less than a month. the family should have been more careful and did more research on the animal before allowing it into their home.

We rescued all our dogs none are fighting dogs like pitbulls never had problems with any of our dogs.

Worked at a kennel for 5 years. I know how intrusive and just unbeknownst people can be around dogs. Even the staff were pretty terrible about their energy , getting in the dogs personal space (all up in their grill) and generally pushing them out of their comfort zone. That is how you get bit. I wasn't bit once while i was there. Everyone else i knew had been bit.

The dog was not trained properly to live with humans and the humans did not know this or thought otherwise. The humans were not trained to live with animals, at least not this particular animal. Attempting to put a sweater on this dog only exacerbated an already dangerous situation.

They think they're about to be put in front of another dog and be bitten to death with no defense. Pit bulls were created since the 1700 or 1800s for fighting. If you want a safe dog that will never turn on your kids or anyone they think they can kill, don't adopt one. If you want a dog who will go after others and you have no kids yourself, you may want one, but don't sue anyone but yourself if it turns on you one day.
