Hi Siya! Incredible work! I had the pleasure of working on the first Ninja Turtles film as part of the SPLINTER puppeteer team with Kevin Clash ! Thanks for the kind words about the movie. It was a blast to work on and was indeed groundbreaking! COWABUNGA! Nice work!
What an honor! Thank you so much for your hugely influential contribution! My wonderful memories are forever grateful!
Still the best movie thank you for your contribution
It's always wonderful to see your work come to fruition and actually hold it in your hands. This would make me so proud as well. Nice work. Love the foil cover.
Not a bad price for that brush. I remember buying my first Winsor & Newton S7 #2 brush on Amazon back in 03 and like only $10. Now it's doubled.
The Summer of Siya has begun!! lol. So much fun watching you draw the Turtles. So excited to hear you are reving up on Neo Wonderland. Looking forward to seeing more.
Have a great weekend, and I'll see you in the next one!
Thanks so much as always, I can't wait to show you more Neo W!
Woooo,,, i've been binge watching every old TMNT art videos & kevin eastmen interviews this week,, and now we got a new one from you!!!!
I"ve only discovered your channel 1-2 months ago, and now I'm so excited for this as if I've been following you for yearss!!
Awwww, that's such a cool story! I usually don't hear how people discover my work. Now I have to go down the rabbit hole of TMNT videos as well!
The sketch looks AMAZING!!!
Thank you for being so informative with all the details.
And thank you for watching!
LOVE YOUR WORK. Such badass lines.
I really dig your final drawing
Thank you so much!
ooooooo yeah!!!! Can’t wait!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Been such a long time since I've done something like this. Inspirational, love the look and process
I don't know what's more impressive...the quality of your art, or the speed at which you can produce it. You're a machine! Keep up the incredible work! 🔥
Awww, thank you so much!
Awesome work, I just love your art style.
I can never get enough of your art and your process!
Awe thank you so much!
@@SiyaOum you’re very welcome!
That looks so good! I didn't know you did coloring too. So amazing! I still say they need to let do a run on the new series 🤞🏻(like you don't have enough to do)
And Im patiently waiting for your manga. The video of you working on it showed such beautiful work
I TRULY LOVE WHAT YOU RE DRAWING VERY INSPIRING MAKES ME WANNA DO THE SAME😊
Awe, thank you!
Love seeing another LEFTY as good as you are.
From my own observation...lefties have the advantage when it comes to arting. :)
Beautiful work
final looks awesome
Amazing work!
LOVE!
Love it! You do the Turtles justice.
Very nice congrats !🐢!
dope!!! good to see you back gonna check this later after work !!
Thank you so much! Have a wonderful weekend.
Beautiful.
Amazing!
Thanks so much!
Amazing!!
Seeing this makes me wish I was good enough to do a TMNT cover. I used to dream about doing a full book, but now not so much. Either way, it looks great. You're a fantastic artist.
Awww, thank you so much! We can use many more new ideas out there, I'm sure you have something in your idea arsenal!
@@SiyaOum Honestly, I do have a story that I want to draw for the Ninja Turtles. But I don't think that IDW would go for it and it just makes more sense to just make an issue and give it away for free online as a fanzine or webcomic. Just to be a fan rather than worry about getting published. But I'm grateful for the kind word of encouragement.
@@coreybass3231 I'm sure you know what your heart needs to fulfill that creative appetite. Go for it.
so cool!!!!!
Amazing cover
Thanks so much!
Amazing work
Totally like the mix of traditional drawing with digital media. Laugh when you show the name of the T ruler for the young ALL digital generation
hahahaha, yas, kinda have to. I forget how some of this stuff isn't obvious, because I get asked often about things I thought were still in circulatoin. :D
Loved it!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awe, thank you!
You’re an inspiration and your art is incredible! Thank you for remembering to record this one! Lol
Awe thank you! How could I forget...it's NINJA TURTLES, Am I r'ght?! :D
Classic!
Its bitter sweet when you start too get to busy for stuff like Videos but a good thing
Yeah it is! I love making episodes!
Amazing ! :D
Thanks for letting us art/career shadow you 😊
God bless you and your art ❤
thank you so much!
You welcome
Great video, Siya! I love watching your artwork process; it's so peaceful and inspiring. I would have loved to be in the live chat to ask you some questions, but I was busy at that moment 😅.
So cute 😊
Skillz!
Fantastic!
Thank youuuu!
Very cool.
awesome
this was so bad ass :-) you need to do art live sometime
I’m going to do a test stream very soon. Thank you so much!
Awesome stuff....extremely jealous of your winter views. I have no idea why I wasn't following you on instagram. I see some of my friends are also following your IG.
Very nice to meet you! The winter views can be below zero Fahrenheit sometimes, so it does have its downside. Lol. Hope to see you on IG.
Im also left handed and I dig the way you hold the pencil when sketching- I’m gonna try that!
I learned that way if holding the pencil watching Iain McCaig
Incredible, just picked up my pencil after a while and this was the inspiration, great artwork.
That's so awesome to hear, thank you so much!
And thank you for choosing Ninja turtles, just drew one myself, I aspire to become a comic book artist and artists like you are a great inspiration, thanks and I love your snowing environment, what a time to be alive 😀
@@akshaykauthankar3273 Awwww, awesome. TMNT is fun to learn a more dynamic style.
awesome :)
Thanks for sharing the process! It’s reassuring to see another artist use a similar process for their work…. And work on a flat surface while standing😅
Great job! That brush is nice yeah and although the marvel movies are good, nothing compares to the 90's tmnt
90's TMNT
Wow this is really cool to see
Thanks
Can you share how to manage when there is many project at once?
Absolutely mind-boggling drawing!
Can I ask you a question? Because I really do think that's an absolutely mind-boggingly well drawn piece of art. And I ask myself if I could ever in a million year get to that point or if there is some serious talent involved. I don't try to use talent as an excuse obviously but not everyone can be a Steven Spielberg or a Mozart.
So my question is: When you first started out and art probably felt impossibly hard for you as well... did you ever ask yourself how you could get to the point you're at right now. And if you could talk to your beginner self, what would you tell yourself regarding those thoughts?
I'm still very early on in my art journey and I'm just flabbergasted by your forms, shapes and how easily you add detail everywhere and make it look so tangible.
Waiting!
Wow very neat teenage mutant ninja turtles good job on the inking I did not know your left handed artists and I am too I ready subscribers your mrs channel
Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed the process!
Your welcome anytime you're talented artists mrs by the way
Hey that should be a poster!
Liked them all but #1 was indeed a great comp! ❤
If they said I could draw all those concepts, I'd gladly do it!
@@SiyaOum Siya, you get to draw the Turtles. How cool is that?
@@jakemonster001 Just as cool as drawing Transformers! Even if it's just Optimus's head lol
@@SiyaOum Alright. Now I’m super jealous. I’m going to draw some GI Joe. For myself. lol
Still two days left! OMG, I can't wait, this is torture, hahaha! But you already have my like 😁.
awwww, thank you so much! hahaha! Hope to see you in the LIVECHAT.
Hi Siya. The comic is fire. after inking traditionally and scanning into the computer to colour in photoshop do you still have to re-ink on photoshop again?
No you don't have to re-ink on the software. Thanks so much!
This looks wonderful! I think your renditions of the turtles are fantastic. Thank you for sharing the process.
As someone constantly looking to hold his pencil more comfortable, I noticed at the beginning of the video you were sketching with the pencil between your middle finger and index finger, but didn't do that much the rest of the video. Is that just something you do for sketching?
Yes, I sketch that way to stabilize the lines and get close to the paper, also when my pencil is shorter. Thank you so much!
Hi Siya! Great work always! May I ask what is the brand of the a3 printer you're using? Thanks!
It is the epson WF-7720.
Cowabunga!
Such amazing work. So confused how it's snowing outside.
Hahaha! I filmed this between November and December.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
😱😱😱😱
Hey I'm new to the channel, incredible work! I was wondering if the glove on your hand is to keep from smearing the graphite on the page? Thanks!
It's called a smudgeguard, or drawing clove. You should be able to find them on amazon.
@@SiyaOum thank you! Your work is astounding!
@@wizzy142 And thank you!!!
Tmnt 👍💯💯💯
😁😁👏👏👏👏
Hi Siya, love the art work of the TMNT, I would like to know what sizes of the paper you work on, I draw too big?😅
it is 11x17 inches. :)
@@SiyaOum Thank you very much!
✌☺

Hey Siya!
First of all, I absolutely LOVE your videos, and I LOVE how you use traditional techniques with ink and bristol board to create the masterpieces you do.
I have a question. If I would want to draw/write comic books and do what you do, what kind of classes in high school/college do you reccomend taking? Or how can I publish my own comics like you do?
I would be so thankful for any advice you give. Your videos are amazing and so inspiring to a teenage comic artist like me.
I have an episode from my comic editor: ruclips.net/video/u-EERntKCkE/видео.htmlsi=B7PdN__zCWR-hvtk
I don't think college is necessary to learn how to draw comics. There are amazing books out there, and other artists that share their techniques online. Once you get good at story telling with your art, I think you'd be ready to approach a publisher or print your own books. You can also start with online platforms like Webtoons to gain a following. Good luck to you!
@@SiyaOumOH MY GOSH thank you so much! You’re amazing at art and you really inspire me. Thank you for the advice! I really want to do somethkng with comic illustrations and writing, and I knew just who to ask! I live in a rural area and I go to school in a small town, so I’m trying to find all the resources I can! THANK YOU!!!
@@user-cv6el8kt1z No worries! Yeah, there are so many books out there, the cost of going to school for art does not pay early on, unless you have money to spend, but I have friends that went to art school and said it wasn't necessary. Have a great rest of your weekend!
@@SiyaOum Thank you! You too! I really appreciate it! I have the book How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way by Stan Lee, and it has helped me a ton! I also watch artists like Joe Madereira (I think I misspelled it) and he’s awesome as well. But thanks so much! Have a good weekend!
@@user-cv6el8kt1z Joe is amazing! I can see why you picked him as your muse.
I wonder if we will ever get a live action ninja turtle movie that involves there being a 5th turtle? believe it was mentioned in one of the comics years back I think, it was a female ninja turtle
The hand is an illusion. She's mentally controlling the pen to move across the canvas. Just a little video editing magic to CGI the hand in.
I'm a lefty not evil😊
$10 is expensive? I remember spending $18-$47 for a single Raphael kolinski sable depending on the size...
...and that was in the LATE 90s😳😳😳
I want to know how to draw the Ninja turtles like that
Siya "South paw" Oum! Watch and Learn.
That sounds like a cool nickname, haha
Oh. A lefty.
Gdamn You can draw - Amazing
I just started to do small diagrams , simple drawings etc + thumbnails.
Brought drawing tablet - Extend to my drawing is - Sticky ricky for now :D
You will improve in no time, if you bought a tablet! It's a good way to practice without feeling like you have to spend money on supplies, constantly.
三菱鉛筆使ってるんだ?
Hi-uniが使いやすいよ?
はい。素晴らしい鉛筆です
I need that pencil.
Hey Siya are you Khmer?
Yes. 😉
@@SiyaOum Good to see another Khmer American in the field. I'm khmerican as well with my own light novel out. I was curious to see if you'd like to team up for a future light novel I'm working on. Your definitely way more talented at drawing then I am haha. If you'd like to hear me out more just let me know
Plimik
When you hear AI prompters talking about how they are artists, show them this video.
AI and artist should never be used in the same sentence.
marvel use to be good but everything after phase 3 has been horrible !!!!!
what we need is a True tmnt adaptation something dark the tmnt we get now is to kid friendly we need a director who will give us tmnt that actually uses their weapons the fighting should be like the raid or extraction 1 take fight scenes and have them all in red
I’d watch that version of TMNT. 👍
Jobber
not a good composition. the eye doesnt really get to travel anywhere. stuck looking at leos back leg over and over again.
