Allama Iqbal - unquestionably a very great poet...A few days back I learnt the entire ghazal "Sitaron ke aage.." by heart.... One of the most uplifting ghazals....

Allama Iqbal was a great scholar of Arabic, Persian and Urdu.
He was also very active politically, and held key positions in Muslim League.
He first proposed Two nation theory, a separate country for Muslims of India, which later culminated in creation of Pakistan.
He was true son of Pakistan 🇵🇰

Allama Iqbal was a political thinker also.
His ideas and political activism, led to icreased rift between the Muslims and Hindus of British India, which then led to frequent ri*ts between the two groups during 1920s and 30s and later on k*lling of more than 5 lac people and grapes of thousands of women during partition of British India in 1947..

It's ironical that the person who wrote Saare Jahan se Achha would also be the one to come up with the idea of breaking India apart on the basis of religion.
