My dealer in Stafford gave me a pair of these FOC with my new Interceptor. I found them a bit of a faff to fit and had to adjust the throttle control, as a gardener and not a mechanic this wasn’t too taxing. I agree, very good quality and work really well (with original bar ends.........) Thank you Stu.
I bought the stork equivalent of those for my re classic 500. Made big difference with vibration problems of seeing what’s behind you, also decided to get them from a guy in India. He was a gentleman to deal with. done a fair price and had them to me in just over a week if I remember right.
On a recent royal enfield ride organized by my local dealer I saw a continental gt with some clamp on mirrors mounted on the forks, just bellow the headlight brackets and it looked really good.
I really look forward to your videos particularly Fridays video...it's like the end of s weeks treat. Keep up the good work and thank you. Bye Stuart 🙂
Ran into the same issue of the bar end lug spinning in the barrel of the handlebar. Pick up a belt strap wrench. They'll hold these bar ends perfectly still while you tighten/loosen them, and they're great for removing oil filters, parts with a delicate finish, or even jar lids.
Did not like the looks of the Continental GT at first but I find it has grown on me. Still propably choosing the Interceptor if I decide to buy an RE. Before this season started in the spring I almost ordered one but as usual, when I got to ride my old friend the Kawa Vulcan I´ve had for ten years now I was perfectly happy so we´ll see. If a thing ain´t broken it doesn´t need mending as the saying goes, and the Kawa will propably last me out if I choose to keep it. Only have room for one bike in the garage, which is very good for my financial status. Thanks for the video, as high quality as those mirrors.
Hi Stuart, thank you for an excellent, clear and instructive video. Sure, it's not the hardest thing in the world to fit - but the info about refitting bar end plugs was really helpful and not an issue once explained. When I ordered the genuine parts, there was a QR code on the label for fitting instructions. This led to clear RE instructions (3 pages!). Their suggested position was to have the RE logo text on the outer side of each mirror. All up an excellent video, thank you. BTW are you a fan of the 'dropped' or hanging style of attachment - looks a bit trick, but obviously compromises field of vision.
For some reason even after owning Interceptor for an year, today I realise that RE itself sells these. What I am able to find out today is that in India, the website does not specify this as an accessory for Interceptor. It is listed for Meteor and GT. I am getting this pair. Thanks
@@Lost_In_Maya I gave it to the service guys and they did it, i just waited inside their showroom, they took the bike to their service bay and brought it with fitted mirrors. So not sure if it was cumbersome for them.

Thanks for sharing your take on these bar end mirrors and finishers. I am inspired to put these on my GT650. Due to pandemic second wave lockdown, and subsequently monsoon rains in India, haven't had a chance to attend to the bike much.
Stuart, Did your bobber hear you say “closer inspection to me reveals they are actually better quality” regarding Enfield over Triumph mirrors ? I sure heard it, good that my Bonneville didn’t hear it, it might start shaking going down the road. RE is definitely going to capture some Triumph fans, I picked up a new Meteor 350 for the wife last week. I am VERY impressed, very sturdy, smooth. We love it. I Apologize for the long winded comment ….Take Care ! 😎👍
They look great and well worth the wait. Good job! You do well Stu managing your channel. Id be up all night with the pedantics and the haters.....but I'm an intolerant Yorkshireman lol
100+ is a bit much for those mirrors in my opinion. They cost 35-40 pounds here in India including taxes. Also they don't come with any instructions because everyone here in India expects you to buy them from your authorised shop and take them to an RE mechanic. Since manual labour is so cheap, cost of tools is never justified in India.
@@stuartfillingham I wonder whether there's a bit of subsidy on RE prices in their home market. I wouldn't be surprised and, if so, well done RE. Maybe also Asia in general since seen as poorer in many cases. Bar end mirrors in Thailand the equivalent of about £98. UK price £135 ish(?) both including local VAT.
This is the comment that I just now added (26 July 2021) which has mysteriously disappeared 🤔 so here I go again: Cheapskate idea: instead of paying more than a ton on posh bar-end mirrors for my RE 500 Pegasus Classic, which despite being fully and carefully run in, vibration at certain RPMs causes blurry vision on the originals, so I went on Amazon and got a pair of bicycle bar-end jobs for £10 the pair! I’ve already got the same ones on my bicycle and they are spot-on. Fully adjustable, look good (Black plastic), brilliant rear view, and zero blurry on vibration. You might have to use a couple of skinny cable-ties to lengthen the straps, which may be a tad too small, but the end result is unobtrusive and overall, pretty damn good 🙂

Stuart: being an owner of a RE Interceptor 650, I cannot but underline how abysmally cheap the handlebar controls look. They are an insult in every way. I replaced them with aluminium housed controls but that isn‘t the optimum yet. Maybe you can do sth on that in the future.

In India you get those fancy plugs to cover them in some accessory shops. You can even try a half inch nut 🔩 of the same circumference and if it's longer then cut it down further.
These mirrors look good on the Continental GT. I installed the Halcyon bar ends on my Interceptor and I'm not totally sold on the look... Might switch back, the standard mirrors work ok and stylistically look appropriate.. not sure.

Got these for my interceptor, the adaptors (genuine RE) are pants, the original bar ends have a kind of groove to stop rotation, the replacement bar ends do not and so will not sit flush and will rotate! The shop where I bought them explained that the adaptor has to be modified by the end user (using a file or similar), in order to sit properly. This is a very poor manufacturing error by Royal Enfield as the metal is very hard and will not be an easy modification for the majority of us owners and we shouldn't have to do this!
