They're not reincarnated in a sense that they were born again. I think love has cured the curse but as a result, they turn to mortals with memories of different lives. I dont understand why people feel bad for Zeref for having been able to live again after centuries of trying to kill himself. What he wished was not death, but a normal and happy life where he is not immortal. He finally got that wish. He and Mavis can now live the life they've always dreamed of. 😭

Well im pretty sure there aren't any Zeref cultists left after the news of Zeref's death was published. Also Crime Sorciere and the Magic Council are still hunting down Dark Guilds + we got little brother Natsu and Mavis (Mio) watching after him. Hopefully he finally gets to rest. Now it's the White Mages turn to cause death and destruction.

They will see it as fake news and when they encounter Arious, Zeref's reincarnation, rejoiced that the Black Wizard returns and kidnaps him to make him remember his old self.

Zeref and Mavis were reborn to have a better life, But it’s really sad Atleast for Mavis that she doesn’t have her old memories. August might also be reborn to have a better life as well.

Once the curses were lifted, maybe their lives continued on as they were before they were cursed, as regular mortals. The curse stunted them at those ages, so removing it likely allowed them to keep on living from their age going forward, just erasing their cursed life memories.

It's so heartwarming seeing both of them talking as normal humans, and hearing Zeref laugh, Mavis's habits still haven't change even after reincarnation😅... Finally a good scene and new beginning for the two of them.

The way they reminded viewers of Zeref and Mavis' son by inserting the word August in the line, "It certainly is hot this August!" I see y'all. (I'm taking it as a hint that Zeref, Mavis, and August (even Larcade) will finally be able to come together as a family through Alios and Mio!)

That isn't Zeref. He doesn't even remember his past life. So doesn't really matter. He suffered because he was immortal. Because he couldn't love. But now with the new him he can live how he wanted. And with Mavis's reincarnation no less.

I was so happy when I saw this moment in the manga. Zeref being one of my most favourite villains, especially when I learned the truth about him and his curse, I really did hope that there would be some form of peace for him and Mavis. So heartwarming 😭. This is one of many reasons why I love fairy tail as this bloody show can yank on your heartstrings.
Yo, hear me out I remembered! That Alios guy was the one Lucy had a fateful encounter with. Lucy mentions she was writing a novel then he was so into it, he became a fan! He had glasses before, also his hair was similar to Zeref's on that episode but didn't have the pointed one. When I was young I thought he looked like Zeref but meh.
I also thought the same way, they look so much alike, plus the personalities and the brown bag.

My interpretation is that since this thing is so contradictory, it gives you the opposite of what you wished for. In that case, they were expecting to fully die, so they lived on, but lost all memories because well, they wished they could talk further. When Mavis cried about the curse, it got stronger, and since they accepted that they both have the curse in the end, the curse disappeared.
So, the nature of the magic, consistent to the end.

Seeing Zeref get the life he finally wanted, even if it’s not really him, is such a sweet ending.
All he wanted was to revive his brother, be with mavis, be HAPPY in general and to end his immortality. He’s thee best villain and one I actually love and don’t hate at all

I just finished it earlier TT_TT happy with the ending but i wished the necklace that zeref left was given to Natsu (or maybe it was, but wished they would've shown) and i wished he could've wore it. i think i only saw natsu show affection for his brother once, and that's when he said goodbye and called him big brother.
