  • We've found the parts list needed to adapt your cable throttles to work with the Duromax 999cc electric throttle control. It requires minor wiring and keeps stock components as well. We've been running this setup for almost a year and has been holding up.

    Great Explanation! 👍😎 You could 'reverse' your 2 pole switch leads so that the toggle would point to the 'direction' of control use. I like everything else. Thanks.

      I cut the original pot wiring too short so it didn't reach the other pole of the toggle switch or else I would have reversed them like you mention.

    Need to see a video of it on the water. Trying to decide if I want a 670 or that beast. 670 I’ll have to put some performance parts on to make it do what I want.

      This engine had nearly double the torque of the 670cc at low rpms. It will do more work than a 670cc on load. But it's still at the same RPM for the most part. That what will create more speed over all is more RPM. So a 670cc with more RPM than a 999cc maybe faster than a stock RPM 999cc.

      Review if the kit your looking at will work with the 999cc shaft diameter. We had to do some custom work to make the kit work. Nothing is available to bolt on the market at the moment.

      Swamp runner makes a kit that will bolt to this. It bolts right up to the 1 7/16” crank

      @@azlongtalesI realize that rpm makes more speed. But the torque and displacement is much better for hauling heavy loads without bogging. And can run a larger prop as well.
      pretty smart how you adapted that throttle. I thought the only way would have been to put a mikuni carb lol

    Thank god you did this video! If you wanted to just do only throttle would you just direct connect the purple and yellow to the red and black?

    What do you think of a 14-36 with a swamp runner 670 ? Maybe with float pods.I don’t want transom to break because the bottom corner has been welded in past but it’s got a TBN aluminum 1.5 thick transom. Two floor to transom triangle braces in it already then I got a 36-14 1/4 aluminum plate bolted through the back and transom. You think it will hold up with rough roads and the weight ? Hope to hear back !!

      I would say don't do pods. Sell that hull and buy a 16ft if you want to run a vtwin engine. I would run the @duromaxpower #xp18hpe 18hp or #xp20hpe on that hull if you plan on keeping it.

      @@azlongtales​​⁠​​⁠ Okay thanks for the advise but sadly I’m stuck with this boat for this year I re did it completely. And already got the motor 670…. Dumb but No Kit. It comes out to about 20 pounds more heavy then a 459 kit with a light weight muffler. Just of of curiosity what’s the size of Sonoran skipper and rumble bee ?
