    I owned a Craftsman Garden Tractor with a 22HP Kohler V-Twin engine. I hear people bad mouth Kohler all the time. I bought it used and it did not run and needed a little work. I did a routine service on it, changed the plugs and adjusted the magneto and it fired right up and gave me great service until I bought my BX1850 and let the Craftsman tractor go to a new home. I kept it for years as a backup for the Kubota, but I never needed it. I enjoyed your video here and will check out more of your content. Enjoy the Journey - Cheers

    Reminds me of the annual trying to leaf blow powder snow when can situation... that I usually don't bother tuning to get started or have a warm place to bring in so might or will start.

    Please rejet this carb. I ran into the same issues and mine is in a warm garage. I am going to buy a little primer for it to shoot some fuel in to start it but I can’t even run it the way I bought it.

    I know this is not on the video.... I watched 👀 your video 📹 on rebounding the steering First generation. Mine had a bolt 🔩 and not a Torx bolt. No room for a socket or wrench. How do I remove it... thank you for the video... I Love all of them!!!!

      What goes in has got to come out. Have seen some rebuilt with the wrong bolt. But in the end always found I could get them out.

    I miss my old GT6000. Wish I would have kept it and did an engine swap on it because it was still a great garden tractor, aside from the 20+ year old tired Briggs & Stratton engine. Never had a plow or blower for it...I do have a blower for my Cub Cadet XT1 18HP lawn tractor, and never installed it this winter, and so far my thoughts have held out, not going to have enough snow to need it. Past week its been in the high 40's low 50's for highs....supposed to snow tomorrow night into Thursday, but maybe an inch of snow which will be melted by noon LOL.

    Which carb would you rather deal with , the stock one or the other that you can tune better , I'd probably go for the one you could tune

  • @DaddyDan77
    @DaddyDan77 Год назад

    How about drilling it out one size up? (the jets in the stock carb) If you're likely going to ditch the stock carb it might be an interesting little experiment. Back when I was messing around with Chinese scooters with Honda Clone engines that was a common trick to get them to not run quite so lean.

    People in my town say my ride will beat RCG. They say there rides might. that being said. in a town of 200 people. the tractor crowd all knows RCG. even an old 81 year old farmer does. says RCG is a goof. that old man thinks im a goof also, but everyone compares themselves to him. he is like a milwaukee impact. hes the guy everyone is gunning for. so when people hammer you in the comments. dont take it personal . its such a complement

    • @redneckcomputergeek
      @redneckcomputergeek  Год назад +1

      LOL Its funny to thinks a group of people. Would have a goal to build a machine better then a redneck in Maine. Every Comment is a positive to me. If people are commenting I am doing something right in the end.

      How do you run a governor on them?

    • @Robbie..Ha-Navi
      @Robbie..Ha-Navi Год назад

      @@billhacks you did change my mind. all small engines unless used for work like mowing a lawn. wont need a gov. he said he over revs it on heavy snow anyway. i bet all i own i can tune a slide carb to run circles around any carb he mentioned. you can tune the idle jet. the needle size and clip height ; and the main jet. you can even get a double pumper. but RCG is pretty smart and one cool dude. so there might be a reason why he doesnt. all my tractors have slide carbs , jetted fat. my stuff sounds more like a 4 wheeler when running. i cringe when i hear those junk carbs surging and think about the horse power loss.. no reason for any engine that size to make so little power.

    30 below ?
    Welp, Briggs is out ,they tout that their LP gennies start till 20 below.
    Don't be fooled ,plugs worn 2 thou wider , a valve 1 thou too tight , a battery weak by .02 volts and they won't start at zero.
    Give it a little choke if it has one and they take off ,but they don't normally use it.
