Trades46 In fact you have to give more power for friction plate to engage. Engine rpm must be maintained at certain range at certain amount of time for the rear diff to lock.
@uffe91 Well, it IS made to be able to go off road...its a Swedish car after all...its meant to be used on snow and tough terrains, no matter how it looks like.
@@admirmesic5241 The one I bought Tuesday is an R design also in black . I live in the mountains in Tasmania Australia.we get a little bit of snow and heaps of rain . Drove it the 4 hours home in the rain through the mountains and was amazed how well it handled . Has a lot more power then I thought it would. I've never had a diesal before .
@@Charlie-xp9lq Also bought an R-Design in the past week and also live in the mountains of north Tasmania. We should go on an adventure with our XC60. The mountains here are not as high as in Europe, but we have many dirt roads around the mountains that are very interesting and great for camping and photography. I bought the R-Design with polestar and am happy. Even more so as I have the VIDA Dice and dedicated laptop to understand the vehicle and the electronics.A well built car that I think is underrated by many people here in Australia.
Look a little closer. The 2 wheels with traction have to go up over bumps. No, you can't do that at idle. And he didn't add that much power. Trust me, Volvos don't need that much power to get through this situation. And this is more of a Traction Control problem (side-side), and has less to do with AWD (front-back).
2:25 lol! "We have to give more power" Actually, this means that it's a poor awd system. A proper 4x4 like a Jeep Grand Cherokee can do this on idle without wheelspin.
Nice car...it's annoying how the camera skips back though.
Wonderful examples of how this car handles the real world driving and much more. Nice!
Maybe the video is intended to induce epilepsy.
hahahaha brilliant!
"To let the Haldex system work, we have to give more power!"
Best explanation ever.

I don't have experience with Haldex AWD, so Ok. I thought it would pretty much activate if it detects slippage on front axle though.
Trades46 More power doesn't mean that you rev it, you need to rev the engine on peak torque, usually 2000 or 3000 rpm and very gently in the throttle.
Trades46 and this is the old generation of the Haldex, the newest one Haldex 5 is a lot better and need less rev to do it
Wonderful examples
Brilliant engineering, woeful editing
The best car of my life !!!!
I have a Volvo XC90 and it is fantastic! I would recomend the Volvo XC60. You wont be dissappointed. Especially if its for the family.
Love my XC60!
VOLVO, You're AWESOME !
that test road is just like a regular mexican street

Hade varit kul att se hur en lite äldre Volvo klarat den där banan. En 240 eller 940.
Love this video
Same here! But part of it had no sound for some reason!
Hello Volvo Buyers, If your looking for a fast Volvo there is a Volvo called Volvo 2011 xc60 t6.

@@Charlie-xp9lq Can even get it mapped and it's a huge difference in power. I've had my 2009 d5 mapped from 205 to 260hp and it's very nice.

God the "replay" scenes are so damn annoying. it doesn't make the car look attractive. it's irritating.
what did the editor of the video smoked?
Want a xc 60 so bad
Cool video!!!!
So it can handle a 42 degree sideways rolling threat but when are rich soccer moms going to encounter this at the shopping mall. lmao
You must not understand basic physics and key concepts. Try and read, it might help.

You even have rollers on the streets in Mexico?
So Cool
What year is the Volvo?
2009 but they didn't come to the US until 2010.

would be better if the video didn't have a stutter !!

VOLVO: Capable Demon Fuel-efficiency

I could not watch the video until the end, the jittery effect is so annoying!
My dad have 2013 r design one
songs name?
Do you still want to know?
No problem ;)
The editing makes me feel sick
The maximum sideways? What?
Also. If you not drive to fast? 3:57
Also. Left hand band, the angle is tutaly roll? What? 4:02
Also. I thought you just said not to drive to quickly when in water? 4:38
Totally not stolen from the top comment.. *smoke btw.
Very very impressed seems superior to bmws xdrive and Mercedes 4matic
POWAAAAAAH!
4WD?????
Why does it have to poke back and forth all the time. Good vid though.
wooooo i like
i'm sure an s60 could do a lot of that course...
asphalt... what kind of test is that? gimme some mud, maaan! =D
A Subaru Outback would be able to do the same course. By flooring the accelerator like the driver did, I bet a RAV4 or CR-V could make it too.
Oh my gosh he is really good teller but his accent!

xc60 hasn’t changed much! 🤦♀️😆😂👍😎
Nah, nah 12 years ago they still had an actual normal shifter. 🤦♀️
so glad I got a 2012 XC60.
