Qazi, I love these tutorials that helps me to build an increasingly solid foundation on which to build my creative skills in color grading. It was through your YT vids and Freelance Colorist course that I solidified the idea of a fixed node tree...and with it, the 'how' and 'why' of the sequence of operations. Of course, that fixed node tree was turned on its head when I started working with Qazi's Toolkit! 😁 ...but the principles remain the same.. Thanks, bro!
@Qazi This is exactly what I was looking for! There aren’t many tutorials on how beginners can start and avoid mistakes that can cost them hours. There are tons of videos on grading, skin tones, and look creation, but not many that actually help beginners save time and avoid trial and error. This is much appreciated content.. please make more like it!💛💛
Dear Mr. Qazi, Thank you so much for your incredible tutorials-they’ve been very helpful and practical for me. As an Iranian violinist and videographer, I would love it if you could make a video on achieving a professional look with cameras like the Sony ZV-E10 or ZV-E1. Additionally, could you guide beginners on what an acceptable color grade looks like and how to know if we’re heading in the right direction with color grading? Thank you for all your valuable insights! Best regards, Mehrdad Sedqi❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Il would love a video about node tree, cause i don't have one and i'm starting to be better at grading, so could be really helpful to have a pro nodetree to learn with ! Much love, you are killing it !
Hi. I've learned to use Resolve this year almost exclusively through your video tutorials. It's incredibly valuable information and everything is very well explained and justified as to why certain things should be done. Thank you very much and I wish you a very pleasant end of the year. 🤩
Mate absolute gold! I’d love to see a breakdown of node trees for different styles of work eg commercial, film, doc. Oh and is there a way to save node tree template so you can apply it in different projects?
right I get it, you need your fixed node system, I agree with it, was that project that you where working on better with those 32 nodes or it would have been enough to go trough the the main things, like bal, exp, sat contrast, then creating the look?
Very interesting! What's the difference between "Ripple node Changes to selected Clips" and a Shared node" between all clips? or is it another way to apply to all? Thanks
@ 7: 45 how do you set the 18% middle grey? As I understand this 18% topic, there is supposed to be a pivot point placed on the curve where the middle-grey point is assigned in the used working color space. I do not see that pivot point. Anyway, thanks a lot for this and for all of your great videos.
Hi Qazi, your explanations are some of the most helpful I've seen. I have one question. So far I work with a Sony α6100 camera which outputs no Log footage but something compressed which is already in the Rec 709 colourspace. I will get a better camera eventually. For the time being however, what is the best way to work on this? Still transform to Davinci gamut, do some grading etc and then back to Rec 709? Cheers from Greece
While i name my nodes and start typing, DR recognize shortcuts and for example split a clip while i click "c". Do You know why DR is doing that while in node label writting mode?
Qaziiiii, Dude… you described my approach at 100% as a beginner… I laughed so hard 😂 and I’m not really ashamed. Thank you for all the knowledge, time and effort your are putting out there for us, the newbs 🙏🏻 This video is pure gold for me, Thank you!!!
What about middle gray? How can we ensure we are preserving the DP’s original intent-i.e., the “look” and exposure choices? Shouldn't the contrast levels already be determined by the DP? I'm confused about the responsibility of the DP on set versus the colorist in post regarding exposure choices. I thought colorists only adjusted color, not contrast. Because if exposure is going to be altered in post, then why even have a DP on set? Genuine question.
Plz tell us how we can become perfect in color grading in davinci resolve if we are beginners and every youtuber has different color grading nodes confused with these all youtubers plz guide us sir
is there any official info about dwg can contain 30 stops of dynamic range?when we look at white paper of dwg dynamic range chart then we will realise that it will contain only 18.2 stops.
Qazi, who is the colorist typically working with? And do they give specific instructions, like pull the contrast or saturation back? Or is it vague like , this seems too moody. This needs more Oomph...nonsense like that, where you're thinkin WTH is this guy talking about?

My pleasure, Jeff. Thanks for the forever support. Much love, brother.
OMG! How have I spent this many years using Resolve and not known fixed node trees would let me do this?!?!? Game changer!! Thanks Qazi!

Will do. Appreciate the love.
I’m so burned out and uninspired from college thanks for making these lessons they’re helping me start to enjoy learning about film again
thanks for sharing. A tutorial with a nice pro node structure would be awesome!!
One of your most important videos bro. Thanks!

It's so interesting to see how polarizing the "temp and tint' approach is
across the grade-o-verse.
Thank you for your content bro! I’m trying to get better with coloring and your videos help out so much! 🙏🏼🤘🏼

Appreciate the love. So much more to come. 💪🏽
It's like looking at the layers of a beginner in photoshop and a retoucher. Less is more. Too many layers makes it hard to change things later.
This is GOLD! an always Qazi. Thank you!
Ty.
Love the content mate, keep up the good work.
Ty bro. You know it.
@Qazi, thanks broo. This video gave me another step of growth on my grading process

Good idea. I'll cook something up.
Fantastic video again !!!!!!

Good Video. Fantastic
I will create nodes of B,G,R then Black and White. Look node and onto the next.

Great video
Love from across the border.❤

Hey man. I used to laugh every time at that slap sound each time you said 'smash the like button and subscribe'. I really miss that.
Amazing time saving!!!!!

Changes are welcome...
THAT IS COOL CAN YOU GIVE OUT YOUR ADOBE PRO TEMPLATE THANKS OR MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO MAKE ONE.
Do you create a new version for every round of notes you get from the client?
I dupe my timeline so technically yes.
@@theqazman cool yes that was going to be my next question. Whether you dupe your timeline or use another means. Thanks.
Hey hope you see this and write back in time. Question is Used MacBook Pro m1 16GB 512GB or i9 32GB 1TB? For editing
HEY ALGORITM LET'S PUSH THAT VIDEO !

Commenting for the algorithm.

Never video goes deep on this. All about contrast so stay tuned.
i hope you can make some tutorial about 8 bit footage, bcs not all your viewers have an expensive camera
Already have.
Hey I tried the same, but in my node tree it didn't work... I tried multiple times still no changes, why?

The Ken Tamplin of colorists. Look it up if you don't know about Ken Tamplin. It's worth a laugh.
